Alas, it's on hold so there's no progress yet Peter Now that Parkend Marsh Sidings is finished (well almost!) work has to concentrate Balcombe and the Viaduct on which much work is needed for it's first proper public outing next year at Fareham and in 2025 in Bristol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sts-HyvihjQ In the general scheme of things, it probably won't be started until 2025 after the above commitments are fulfilled. I console myself by looking in the boxes from time to time, of all those lovely items of stock! Also 10800 and I will be building 'Lisanno', an Italian '60s layout for which we have acquired a stock of those lovely brown electrics. It was started by the late Grahame Hitchens (bgman) and the plan is to build it in his memory. So much planned..... so little time!

An interesting picture (photographer unknown) of E5004, 20001 and D6506 approaching Balcombe on 17th July 1960 a joint testing train. Note the elderly 'Birdcage' brake in the down refuge. Not sure just how rail joints were tested This consist will feature on Balcombe!

Thank you Matt, I stand corrected!

This unusual 'Mammatus or Festoon' cloud formation appeared briefly on Wednesday prior to Storm Agnes here in Devon I've only ever seen such clouds once before, many years ago. Rather angry looking!

I'm a bit puzzled by the 'additional' charges mentioned I'm planning to purchase an item from Shapeways and tested costing before committing and got this result. Would I be expecting to be charged more on delivery? Items (1) $92.76 Mfg. Speed $0.00 Processing $4.68 Shipping $11.99 Tax 0 $0.00 Total: $109.43

Indeed it is. I've certainly got an idea quietly fermenting!

I've always wondered if it survived into preservation. -
That was a very thought provoking post Tony. Being 80 next year and in 'fair to middling' health my thoughts seem to often gravitate towards one's modelling 'estate'. My intentions are for three of my best pals to deal with it all as we all did for another dear friend who we lost recently. I've already started to thin down slowly, disposing of stuff (RTR and kits) and I know that my trusted friends will be there for my family at what will be a difficult (I assume!) time. I have a salutary tale from a few years ago. A close friend of my so lost his father who had a huge collection of mostly brand new locos, many that had never been out of their boxes including around a dozen brand new Wrenn locos. A dealer had offered around £600 for the lot. Before dealing my son asked me to have a look at it all, so for the gift of a few locos I agreed to sell the lot for him on Ebay (there was no Hattons et al buying services back then). It was a long task but worth it in the end as I realized over £5G.
