There have been multiple previous topics where a post could be made.

  2. Pop up Video of Shenston road, what an enjoyable 20 minutes viewing. excellent

  3. Sorry but the pop up adverts are really  too much, one nearly every page change.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m using AdGuard, so I miss these little things.

I am looking at it now, its a new thing so server must have been updated

yes, I'm getting full page ads when i sign in for first time each day. Way more annoying than the banner ads and literally of no relevance to me as current ones trying to sell me laptops for university - 25 years too late

  4. One short circuit on the layout, and 6 locos have reset to default 3!

  5. I don’t mind ad’s on RMweb, as it brings in income.  But i’ve just had an ad pop up that would have led me to a scam! Saying i’d won an Amazon fire pad! Be careful people.

You get those everywhere, not just on RMweb. A common place to find them is at the bottom of an online newspaper article.

Not if you’re using an ad blocker.

  6. The frustration that builds when kit built wagons derail randomly whilst running.

Are the axles parallel? Are the wagons weighted? Have you checked the back-to-back?

Yep, yep and yep! parkside tube wagons. heavily weighted, wire loop couplings and Bachmann wheels. i fear they are ebay bound.

Take a deep breath, and check... You need a mirror . Sit them on the mirror , and see if all 4 feet are firmly on the ground . If they rock - there's your problem . Chassis not square.

You say they are Tubes - which is I think the longest wagon chassis you are likely to encounter. Once you are over a 12' wheelbase the precision required to assemble them exactly square gets really quite demanding (The longer the wheelbase, the more any error in alignment is magnified).

TBH , anything over 12' wheelbase is a strong candidate for building as compensated.

Have you built the chassis "tight"? or is there some slop in the axles, allowing them to float slightly and take up a suitable level? It's the ones that I've built "tight" with no float that have given trouble. You may be able to melt one bearing in a bit with a soldering iron tip to ease one axle out and create a bit of float (Horrible bodge, but can be a life-saver). Alternatively , you may have to remove the axleguards at one end and rebuild with a compensation unit. (Etched W-irons)

I doubt they derail randomly. Find the reason they are doing it, and you'll feel a whole lot better. But building something with this length of wheelbase entirely rigid is sticking out your neck a bit

  7. why are peco insulfrog diamond crossing so frustratingly not insulfrog on dcc! had to beg for some nail polish off SWMBO!

Agree, I ended up cutting the rails that head from the centre to the V and then added polarity - switched feeds to both sides of the V, just like you would on an Electrofrog turnout.

  8. lost a complete modlemaster order!

have had to reorder the lot. no doubt the original batch will show up as soon as they hit the doormat!

Last night I found that my Hornby Drummond 700 was missing its detail pack.

I was going to fire off a request for spares from Hornby. Fortunately, I checked inside the Bachmann Wainwright C that I was comparing it to!

I wonder if the Fowler tank might be better for the body - the cab is very similar.

There is a shapeways body available if you can sort the chassis, not seen it in the flesh but here’s a link https://www.shapeways.com/product/C36Q62995/lms-ex-lt-sr-442-tank-loco-superheated?optionId=43807353
