Nice video.  The cast bogies aren’t rare having the steps in the wrong place for the Type 3.  This was the case for all of the Triang Hornby Type 3 models with cast metal bogies.

The cast steps are also in the wrong place on the Triang Hornby Brush Type 2 models that are fitted with the same cast bogies.

    Cheers

    Hi

What i mean about the steps is that they are cast correctly for a class 31 (type2) but on this particular bogie they are cast at the opposite end to what they should be.

  2. Simply superb.

Even if parcel force had gouged a hole in the side, which concerned me at first, but thanks to it being double boxed, the product inside was completely unscathed.

these are superb books. the best i have in my collection.

well done to all, can't wait for the finale set.

thanks to Phil Bullock for bringing these to our attention in the first place!

  3. Kevin, thanks for your response,

    apologies for the misunderstanding.

I had pre-ordered it online in a discount bundle with diesel dawn 2 & 3 and also 'chasing diesels in the last century' however when i pre-ordered it,  it was called First generation DMU'S, a pictorial observation. I believe the publishers have now changed it to Diesel dawn 4. so its the same bookazine i pre-ordered but just a different title.

    if that makes sense!

Hattons P class loco. i cannot convey how good this loco is, its superb running quality, looks, everything about it is worth every penny of its asking price. it is simply splendid plodding around the garden.

  5. Good Morning

I have been working on the layout and am now half way to what will be a destination i the garden shed from the main layout in the garage.

Construction was detailed in the above YouTube video, and i will upload another showing the track laying, electrics and a running session soon.

meanwhile here are some stills of OO running in the great outdoors.

5055 passes 30850, which will couple to the rear of the train once 5055 has arrived into Plumtree platform and is uncoupled and 30850 will haul it back to the garage station. This method of operating proved more interesting than just running around.

  6. I visited the Model village at Babbacombe in Torquay a few weeks ago. Excellent place and full of inspiration for a garden railway.

Their own railway featured some 47 like diesels running when i visited and the bridge over their pond is amazing. i think its roughly G scale.

here's my video of the place and its well worth a visit if you are in the area.

    cheers all
