  1. Shenfield show, then Dartford show, then Dansih minimal chillout ambient Electronica Techno

  2. You can keep all your massively-priced exotica and supercars, I just want this.
  3. Well, the 2B ran Baker Street - Marble Arch - Hyde Park Corner - Victoria - Vauxhall - Stockwell - Brixton - Tulse Hill - Norwood Garage - Crystal Palace, so I'm pretty sure we're south of the river here.
  4. I'll bet that that's this one - http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/189017/leakys-tro-van
  5. Without wishing to embarrass certain of our members: 'Fisher Street to Victoria Bridge' 'Hedges Hill Cutting' 'Trawden' 'South Shields' ...for starters at least.
  6. I had seen those, but when you go to order it gives an option of USA or Other Countries, and although priced in Euro, I had assumed that they were being shipped from the US. There is a second kit, so I might investigate the website for that one.
  7. A Vauxhall Magnum I believe, 1800cc or 2300cc version of the HC Viva. Better trim, four headlights instead of two, and Rostyle wheels.
  8. For some time, I've been fascinated by Theo Jansen's Strandbeests, I knew there were kits available, but they were either Japanese ones (with Japanese instructions) or American ones that had no UK agents or distributors, and the cost of carriage and possible customs duty was not inconsiderable. A few days ago, I found the American one in stock at a UK company, and it arrived today! I won't be putting it together just yet, but will post up some pics when I do. In the meantime, if you don't know what a Strandbeest is, read, watch and learn https://www.theguardian.com/science/grrlscientist/2012/mar/24/1
  9. For our members that don't follow non-league... Talk about doing it the hard way! Ebbsfleet 2-1 up, thanks to two penalties from Danny Kedwell, then Maidstone equalise in stoppage time of extra time, to force a shootout. And the crucial spot-kick which was missed by Ebbsfleet (or rather, saved by Maidstone) was taken by...Danny Kedwell! Some rather happy (and noisy) Stones fans on the Javelin back.
  10. It was around 1991-2. The Warehouse nightclub was almost under the bridge and closed in 1991, to make way for the road, so it can't have been long after that.
  11. You're welcome. Been hunting for my Quail track diagram book, to see if there's an accurate measurement in there, but it appears to be in a box somewhere.
  12. A quick rough and ready measurement from this map: https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/575617/155910/12/100659 gives a length of about 125m. If you have a screen with decent resolution (or better eyesight than me), you might be able to make it out here: http://www.s-r-s.org.uk/html/sre/R1629.htm
  13. I love Hinds, saw them in the summer at Visions festival in Hackney. They seem to be permanently gigging at the moment, I don't think they've stopped since then!

I'm not normally one for greenery and bucolicism, but this is really cracking!
  15. In a Yello mood today. The 'Claro Que Si' album followed by 'You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess'.
  16. What a friend of mine calls 'the central aisle of joy' B)
  17. How can Roy Hodgson argue that he selects players that are in form, when there is a midfielder who so far this year has made more tackles, made more successful passes, has a higher pass completion percentage and created more chances than each of Milner, Henderson, Delph, Carrick and Dier, playing for the team currently fifth in the League, that has beaten Liverpool (three times), Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City? How can Mark Noble not even get into a squad for friendlies? What will Hodgson learn about Henderson or Milner that he doesn't already know? And now I read that he's considering playing John Stones in midfield! A young defender with less than 100 games under his belt, ahead of a mature midfielder with over 300 games to his credit! Oh, and he will pick Jack Wilshere 'if he's fit' for the Euro squad, even though he hasn't kicked a ball in competitive football this season. Utter madness.
  18. Do you remember The Pipettes? Great fun, catchy pop sung by three cute girls in polka-dot dresses. Did you ever wonder what they did afterwards? Well, if you're Gwenno Saunders, you release an album of catchy, electro synth-pop full of motorik rhythms, danceable beats and galvanising hooks. However, this one is influenced by an out-of-print sci-fi novel set in a dystopian future, where Mankind has been subjugated and brainwashed by robots. And it's all in Welsh. Oh, except for one song. That's in Cornish. And it's all utterly brilliant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXMT5fL3cKg
  19. 'Into The Syntax Era With The Sine Waves' - imagine surf rock meets '50s sci-fi B-movies with a healthy dose of Man or Astro-Man?. Favourite track - 'Tsar Bomba': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReU1izhvgpE
  20. This is a bit cheeky, but...if anyone's interested, my Mk3 Granada (http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/73445-for-those-interested-in-old-cars/page-10&do=findComment&comment=1197000) is up for sale. It's by no means perfect, but then it's not expensive either Full advert (on another forum) here - http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/186471/1992-granada-scorpio-change-london I have more pics on Photobucket but can't access that at work... Drop us a PM if you're interested.
  21. This looks like it's going to be right up my alley!
  22. What's the correct procedure when stopped with the engine running (at traffic lights, for example) in an automatic? Handbrake and in Neutral, as in a manual. Footbrake and in Drive. Handbrake and in Drive. Footbrake and in Park. Handbrake and in Park. Something else. I've been told Handbrake and Drive, but that seems counter-intuitive to me, as the engine will be trying to go, the handbrake will be trying to stop it, and I could envisage tears before bedtime. If I was stopped for any length of time, in a traffic jam for example, then I'd go with handbrake, Neutral and engine off.
  23. East End boys beat West End girls
  24. While bored on night shift, I've been looking at Bristols. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford one, but was wondering if anyone had (especially a late 411 or a 603)? I'd be interested to hear about experiences, and if they're really all they're cracked up to be.
  25. My Mk3 Granada is smaller than the current Mondeo, which was the car *below* it in the lineup when it was new! A Mk1 Mondeo is 176.4in long, 68.8in wide and 54in high. A Mk4 Mondeo is 191.7in long, 72.9 in wide and 58.1in high. In comparison, the Granada is 184in long, 69.5in wide and 57.1in high.
