  1. The two criteria seem to be that you own your own premises and qualify for Small Business Rates Relief. That will probably exclude most heritage railways. Geoff Endacott
  2. We have now been awarded a grant of £10,000. Geoff Endacott

  4. I have now managed to add three N gauge layouts, Choates Lane, Hawthorn Dene and Vale of Oxbury. There are also two non-standard overseas layouts, An Clar (Ireland) and Port d'Etropal (France). We are now up to 20 layouts which is the usual total for a normal Trainwest show in April. Geoff Endacott
  5. This could be the ideal coronavirus exhibition layout. There would be no problem making people stand two metres apart as they watch. Geoff Endacott
  6. The revised show is taking shape. I now have 16 confirmed layouts with only room for a few more. Trade support is looking good too. One consequence of the postponement is that Trainwest 2021 is now full. I am therefore booking layouts for Trainwest 2022. (I have actually got one for Trainwest 2024.) Recommendations for layouts to fill the few gaps in October this year are still welcome. Geoff Endacott Exhibition Dismantler and Reassembler
  7. I don't know where this should be, but hope that the moderators can move it if necessary. I found this on the gov.uk website. Support for businesses that pay little or no business rates The government will provide additional Small Business Grant Scheme funding for local authorities to support small businesses that already pay little or no business rates because of small business rate relief (SBBR), rural rate relief (RRR) and tapered relief. This will provide a one-off grant of £10,000 to eligible businesses to help meet their ongoing business costs. Eligibility You are eligible if: your business is based in England you are a small business and already receive SBBR and/or RRR you are a business that occupies property How to access the scheme You do not need to do anything. Your local authority will write to you if you are eligible for this grant. Guidance for local authorities on the scheme will be provided shortly. Any enquiries on eligibility for, or provision of, the reliefs and grants should be directed to the relevant local authority. Find your local authority. Bentley MRG own our own clubroom. We receive Small Business Rates Relief and therefore pay no rates. Our main source of income is usually Trainwest which has, of course, just been cancelled. I will investigate and report back but would be interested if any clubs have experience of this. It looks as though it might be significant. Geoff Endacott
  8. Here is the show which isn't happening. Most of these layouts will now be coming to the postponed Trainwest 2020 on 17 & 18 October, or to Trainwest 2021 on 10 & 11 April next year. If you like what you see, please buy a virtual ticket at https://www.wegottickets.com/f/11934 . This then allows admission to the postponed show and reassures the club that our cashflow this year isn't going to be the complete disaster it looks like being at the moment. Geoff Endacott Exhibition Dismantler, Trainwest
  9. The revised exhibition is taking shape. Of the 21 layouts which were due to attend the show next month: Nine have confirmed that they will still be coming in October. Seven have postponed until Trainwest 2021 next April. One has postponed until Trainwest 2022. Four have yet to decide. One layout has been brought forward from Trainwest 2021 (to make room for the postponements.) The trade content is starting to take shape. I would also like to make a request to help the cashflow of our ticket agency whose business has been all but wiped out for several months. If you would like to come to Trainwest in October please, if at all possible, could you buy a ticket now. We will ensure that if, for any reason ticket holders can't attend this coming October, tickets can be carried forward until Trainwest 2021 on 10 & 11 April next year. https://www.wegottickets.com/f/11934 Many thanks. Geoff Endacott
  10. Many clubs rely on exhibition income to keep going. That's why they are hoping to postpone rather than cancel for the entire year. Geoff Endacott
  11. Tickets bought for the April dates will still be honoured in October. Advance tickets are still available and the online booking system now shows the new dates. https://www.wegottickets.com/f/11934 Geoff Endacott
  12. Trainwest 2020 is not cancelled - but it is postponed until 17th & 18th October. Geoff Endacott
  13. That would look so much better with flush glazing. Geoff Endacott
  14. A minor tweak is also needed to stop the other red flickering when the signal changes from green to red. I am sure your software boys will be up to the task. Geoff Endacott
  15. And when empty they could be used as seats. Geoff Endacott
  16. The house next door is the same size as mine. My neighbour came round to ask how many rolls of wallpaper I bought to decorate the lounge, so I told him; five. Next week he came back to complain that when he had finished he had one roll of wallpaper left over, which is funny because so did I. Geoff Endacott (with apologies to Jimmy Cricket)
  17. We do need to update that don't we? Geoff Endacott
  18. According to Google there is plenty of room for parking, According to me that photo was taken long before the Beversbrook Sports and Community Facility had been built. Geoff Endacott
