Great selection of wagons and a few ideas there. The Airfix 5 plank scrubs up particularly well. How about one with replacement channel ends?

I like the water tank. You may recall from the RM web members day last year that I made something similar for Upwell Drove; I also found my original model too big, and the history of the redesign can be found in my layout thread. Can I commend to you the Wills vari-girder as a source of tank side panels? Building a tank from these enabled me to work out a suitable size for the supports.

It didn't have the bloom problem when it was newer. Personally, I found it a bit thick and difficult to use, so I would be disinclined to use it again. I think perhaps the problem for me is that I find the spraycan difficult to control and would prefer the airbrush.

Bernard - you are right - I made the Morris "J" years ago and the Austin LD is still in its component parts. I had a feeling the manufacturer was in Cornwall, but I,m not sure.

Oh, I did a bit of a comparison of the FMR and WWScenics applicators in my layout thread if you haven't seen it.
Buckden looking good btw. Brings back a few memories. From memory I'm not sure if there were any road markings, even in the 1970's

Hi Marcus
JH shows no sign of fibre loss. The one thing I have found with Diddington is that the fibres at the edge of the bard can be worn away by leaning over the layout, and this needs redoing from time to time.

Hi Marcus. Try a hot glue gun for sticking scenery bits. As well as sticking things, the hot glue can be used as an impromptu filler in scenery, and for building up tree trunks over wire armatures, instead of using plaster.

Inspiring stuff. I think a few crates may appear in Diddinton yard. I followed your link to the Rusty Stumps site. Where did you get the crates with the clear bottles?

The screen wash doesn't seem to affect the paint colour. The Carplan one may have a detergent in it as it foams a bit when it's sprayed neat to clear the airbrush. It doesn't affect the paint.

I part alcohol to one part water. Screen wash isn't diluted at all.

I think Tamiya thinners is isopropyl alcohol, but I stand to be corrected on that. It is expensive though, and I made my own by buying a bottle of isopropyl alcohol from a chemist and mixing it 50/50 with distilled water, which was a lot cheaper. However, I've since found it difficult to buy the isopropyl alcohol and have used car windscreen washer fluid. Not all brands are the same though. car Plan and Halfords definitely work, but I'm not sure about any others.

However, 46444 and I will be meeting up in a couple of weeks and as self-appointed guardians of the Kettering-Cambridge line will discuss whether we feel you are taking unacceptable liberties with the prototype.

Looking good Mark. The kits make up well. There was an article in MRJ on detailing them. I subsumed an etched ladder and Hornby wheels on mine. Like you I used buffers from Mr Franks.
