  1. Hi All,

I've just uploaded some close-up detail pictures of a Touax KFA intermodal flat wagon, built by Rautaruuki. If you have any use for any of these pictures in any of your own projects, or know someone who might find any use for them, please feel free to download them directly from my flickr site, no need to ask - they were taking for the sole purpose of people to use for modelling should they wish.

    enjoy :)

  2. Hi all,

does anyone know if the Hornby P9000 or P9200 transformer is compatible with the old R965 controller please? I've seen reports say both that it does, and that it doesn't, so not sure which one is correct. It looks like it has the same size jack head though?

If it doesn't, does anyone know of anywhere that still sells the old C990 or C912 transformer? Struggling to find any for sale anywhere apart from Ebay or Amazon.

As a side question, would a 19V example be too powerful for things running off an R965?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. It really has been fascinating watching the works over the past couple of days.

Those orange diesels are Northrail class 261s, similar to their DB counterparts. Basically a 21st century V90, at home shunting in a yard or hauling freight and trip workings.

  4. Recently, the sidings over the right hand side, where the slurry tanks are parked, seem to have been extended, and there seems to have been more track laid and trees cleared in that area. From what we've seen, these sidings seem to be used by 'private' operators rather than DB.

  5. Hi all,

(please move this topic if it's in the wrong place)

I've just uploaded several close-up pictures of various parts and details of a Balfour Beatty New Track Construction set (in this case DR78701, 640575 and 640576) for any modellers that may wish to use them.

Please feel free to download as many of these pictures as you like if you can find any use for them, whatever that may be, I took them solely for that reason, no need to ask permission beforehand.

    They can be found here:

If you have any problems downloading them (click the downward arrow on the right hand side when you view a photo), please let me know.

    Thanks.

  6. It's an STLB 1216/183 (one of two), with Innofreight open containers - they can be loaded with anything! I have been told what the load on the train was, but I can't remember. It should hang around waiting for a SETG 193 to arrive, which will then attach onto the train, usually at the rear.

  7. Loco on the right is only one of the regular SETG Vectrons (used on the slurry trains) chaps, nothing special :)

Quite a lot of Belgian steel wagons in those shots - don't normally see that many in the yard at once, two or three covered steels, but rarely a full rake like that.

  8. It could be 193247. Either that or I think it's 8xx (number escapes me), on hire to SETG.

The coach was knocked off the rear of an IC a few days ago - lots of men with torches started looking underneath it, it was then detached and left in the platform. Shortly after a 294 moved it into the siding where it is now.

I've got a feeling the bay at the far end is numbered 7 for some reason, nothing uses it though, only for stabling at night.

Whilst I'm here, I was quite surprised the other day to learn the archive still contains shots from 2011.

That's me, on the left on the centre platform
