  1. Well, I've had a dispach email for my scottish car headlight fitted model. Everyone who's desperate for news can relax, yours will be on it's way soon I'm sure. 😁
  2. I think they had to go 'all in' on one concept. The other teams could look at more options more thoroughly as they had more development time. Merc were still reigning constructors champions last year. It's only this year that they now get more wind tunnel time and a higher cost cap. Red Bull made the best use of their time. Now they have to maintain it with less development time and lower cost cap for being the champions.
  3. Yes it's a moving target, however at least the rules now restrict Red Bull more than the other teams. Everyone else has more development time and cost cap to catch up to them. Personally, I think that is why Merc made their mistake with last years car. They didn't have as much development time as the other teams to use towards it.
  4. I think the point is to prevent someone taking the shortcut to gain an advantage. If it takes the same amount of time to negotiate the cones and rejoin then I think that's a good thing. Of course, if there was just grass and gravel there then that would negate any sort of advantage gained anyway. 😄
  5. Keep the rules the same and everyone can focus on improving to catch up. The scaling budget cap will help this as those at the front will have less money to spend on going faster than those behind. Granted, those behind are smaller teams and may not reach their budget cap but at least the ever moving target will move slower then previously. If you change the rules then everyone has to spend time and money adapting to those rules. Not just those who the rules are supposed to slow down.
  6. Looks nice but how does it run?
  7. I like this way of paying for pre-orders as it gives you flexibility on when you pay. No sudden large amount disappearing because the model has arrived. You pay the invoice amount then sit back and wait for the model to be delivered. Sure, in this day and age of next day delivery you can feel like you haven't got what you paid for. However at least you don't have risk of a failed payment if there is a delay and another bill sucks up the funds. You are safe in the knowledge that it is paid for and will arrive when it is ready. I'm certain Accurascale will keep us updated as much as they are able.
  8. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/65621373 They have done
  9. Thank you for the update, sorry to hear that the project has been affected by a backlog at the factory. Looking forward to seeing them in due course.
  10. Having watched the highlights this morning it was somewhat depressing to see Verstappen just blow past everyone. Checo must be questioning his teams wisdom in starting him on the softer rubber. I highly doubt that RB will allow the inter team battling to continue. I think the advantage gained by DRS needs further controlling. First thing that comes to mind is the maximum speed gained being regulated to be a certain specified amount. Quite how they would test that however I have no idea and therefore that's why I think it's left as open as it is.
  11. Also European Rally Championship starts tomorrow, Rally Islas Canarias.
  12. So lets have two sprint races. One for the top ten in Sprint Quali and one for the bottom ten. Both paying out points. Would need to incentivise people to go for the fastest lap. Like the points paid for the 'top ten sprint' are higher than the 'bottom ten sprint'.
  13. Think they will find the changes to the sprint will not increase the show as much as they are hoping. Personally, they could try a seperate 'sprint championship'. Points that are given out during spint races still go into the main championship but also pay into the sprint championship. At the end of the last sprint weekend. The winner of the sprint championship is announced. Points are then awarded on a sliding scale depending on where you finished in the championship which count towards both main drivers and manufacturers championships. Trick would be to NOT make the final race of the year a Sprint event so that the results of the main championship are not completely flipped by the sprints. You want there to be chance for drivers to make a difference if their sprint events have not gone well.
  14. Only people who would know that is Heljan. What I want to know is how far north did 45104 go when it had it's NSE flash and when did it have that embellishment?
  15. They just posted in the Manor thread that they are releasing crew figures 🤣
  16. They have the small speaker but nit the Accurathrash one.
  17. All good things 😅 I'm sure they will be here as soon as they can. I'm equally sure Accurascale will let us know if they have any news to share.
  18. Not F1 but the Racing world has lost another Driver today. World Rally Championship driver Craig Breen has died following a crash during a test for the upcoming Croatia Rally: https://dirtfish.com/rally/wrc/craig-breen-passes-away-in-testing-accident/
  19. https://dirtfish.com/rally/wrc/craig-breen-passes-away-in-testing-accident/ Thing that gets me is there's so little coverage outside of Rallying Media. If you go on the BBC Website it's on their sports page but nothing on the News pages themselves. Saw most of the 6PM news and didn't see it mentioned. I fear it's a symptom of where Rallying is as a whole. As a test, I asked up at my Model Railway Club tonight if anyone could name a current WRC Driver, none could. Plenty remembered Colin McRae but none even knew who the current champion was.
  20. I've had a wonderful day at the York Show today. If you are on the fence about going tomorrow then hop off the fence and go because you will not be dissapointed. Got a few bits from Squires and very happy to see some of the other specialist trade appearing. A friend of mine has always said to me that 'York Show is just a swap meat'. A claim I've always told him is completely untrue but I admit the number of second hand dealers seemed a little high this time. In fact, I don't remember any of the stands being actual 'box shifters'. Most of the traders I saw with the generic RTR boxes were second hand stock, I don't really remember seeing brand new apart from Locomotion Models and their exclusives. The layouts as always were excellent, I very much enjoyed Central Works, Reevy Road West, Splott, Shap and York 😄
  21. If they had arrived in the Accurascale warehouse I'm sure we would have been told about it. 🙂 Just the same with all their previous releases. They are very forthcoming with information when things start happening.
  22. By the time we packed the layout away, loaded, driven to the clubroom, unloaded, driven home it was 9pm. 😊 From an exhibitors point of view it was very well organised. The large doors on the main exhibition hall allowing us to avoid the massive rain showers that kept appearing on the Friday. Some swift rearranging of parking plans ensured to avoind the sodden grassed areas. However all was well come Saturday and Sunday. I understand there are plans to improve the Exhibitor lunches. 😉 Overall a very enjoyable show to exhibit at and I look forward to coming as a visitor in future years.
  23. Finally home after a wonderful time exhibiting Tytton Hall Yard. Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. We all had an excellent time at an excellent exhibition. We had one techical gremlin with our Lenz DCC system but swiftly swapped from our clubs command station to mine. We think the fix is a minor one but at a show it's quicker to swap rarther than troubleshoot 😁 I hope the Statfold Model Railway Exhibition becomes a mainstay on the exhibition calendar.
  24. Whist I'm exhibiting this year, the price I think is excellent. You are effectively paying for entry to a Model Railway Show but also getting access to a Narrow Gauge Railway and Museum. Having had an excellent day today I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Only problem is having to pack the layout away and take it home. 🤣
