  1. Max said after the race that he expected Lewis to not leave space but went for it anyway. Pretty much sums up his racing attitude, move ou of my way or I'll crash into you. He said it cost Lewis the win but Lewis had plenty of opportunity towards the end. Granted, there could have been damage there slowing him down but he still put plenty of pressure on George who was able to weather the storm. Max's comments on the radio and after the race about not letting Perez though were also appalling. He's clearly not interested in playing the team game. He says he has 'reasons', if those reasons aren't suitable for public knowledge then clearly they are only good for him and not his team or Perez. Maybe Max needs to rewatch all the times Perez has moved over for him or defended like mad to hold a rival up. Carlos didn't let Charles through because he wasn't asked to. Ferarri told Charles that it was too risky. The gap between them was too large and you had a charging Alonso behind so it made sense there.
  2. They normally put traffic for the different shows into separate car parks. I would therefore think that there would be enough space for the Warley show traffic as there's always been plenty of empty spaces in the past. There is normally a queue of traffic to get in and if there are no trains then it's likely to be busier. Go on the Sunday and you'll likely find the roads are quieter.
  3. Ah okay, I think this is where my friend and I are getting confused. Is Hampton-in-Arden an option too? From what I've seen the price from there is £2.70 as well but the car park is bigger.
  4. If you are wanting to avoid the NEC car park fees. Which nearby station is the best to park at? My friend and I are finding conflicting information. Either that or we're getting wires crossed 😅
  5. I was at the Spalding exhibition this weekend and saw these in the display case on the Bachmann stand. They look absolutely stunning and I'm very happy that I've got a sound fitted Linda on order.
  6. I'd argue that everyone visiting an exhibition wants to see action. Not just families but modellers and enthusiasts as well. Of course, modellers also want to see layouts that are modelled well to go with that action. I will admit that I am one of those who will skip past layouts based outside the UK at times. However, many are very well modelled with excellent scenery so I will stop to look at that where I can. Warley tends to be difficult to do that given it's size. I've left it too late for cheap accommodation if I wanted to try 2 days. Will try to do that another year methinks. Ultimately, I very much enjoy visiting shows. It's far better to see layouts in the flesh then seeing them in photos or via YouTube in my opinion. We're still seeing some shows returning after their covid hiatus and I for one am happy to see them doing so. The decision to attend or not will depend on everyones personal circumstances. However, I'd recommend supporting your most local shows if you can given travel costs will be lower.
  7. You make that sound like only Charles has the firebox flicker. Pretty sure thats on all of them 😁 Kind of a shame they hadn't designed that for the Fairlies. At least they are pushing what is possible.
  8. Are you still able to reblow version 3.5 Loksound decoders at shows? Obviously they wouldn't take your latest sound projects. However, the last class 37 you put on one for me is still a vast improvement over what was on it before.
  9. Decided to go for Linda with sound. It was a toss up between her and Charles but Linda won out. The recent posts on faceache from the Bristol area group of the FR society helped me decide. https://www.facebook.com/bristolareagroup They've been posting images of Linda running from Porth Penrhyn to the quarry in 1962. In the condition Bachmann's offering is supposed to depict. I think there could be options for a little more weathering enhancement based on the pictures 🙂 For those wanting later FR versions, why not get Charles now? That will show Bachmann there is demand and when you get the later versions of his sister's you'll have a full set 😅 If I can, I may pick Charles up later on too!
  10. That would be Port Penrhyn. The standard gauge and narrow gauge ran parallel into the harbour.
  11. Winter seems to be when major Narrow Gauge models are announced.
  12. Bristol Area Group have been posting some pictures of Linda at Port Penrhyn on their bookface page. Really am torn over that weathering finish Bachmann have gone for. I'm in two minds between Linda and Charles here. Sound fitted as my Fairlie is awesome.
  13. When did the 158's appear in WYPTE livery?
  14. Don't know what to think on the weathering on Linda. Need to see her in the flesh I think. I thought the difference between the Penrhyn and FR versions would be too great to do at once. There is a lot of differences. I do hope they do sell well and an FR version is announced.
  15. Yeah that's a bit of a clickbait title and thumbnail really. It's just going over what we already know.
  16. I think the updates have been perfectly fine. I think it was clear that remaking the batch was going to take a while and it was unclear how long it would take.
  17. So if you pre-ordered, and didn't swap to weathered examples, I expect its a case of keeping calm and waiting on KMS or Trains4u to get in touch. 😅 😆 I still think it was a very brave decision to pull the initial batches. Really shows that Cavalex have a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. I hope that is rewarded.
  18. The mistake would be not knowing about porpoising and that it would be an issue. Many teams got caught out by it but Merc were just more badly affected. I really do hope that Merc and Ferrari are able to close the gap to RB. A 3 team battle for the championship would be great.
  19. Oh yes, a 101 in Regional Rail livery would be excellent. Original condition Ladies (and Charles) would also be lovely. Somehow I doubt they will do multiple versions like that though. There have been a lot of changes to the Ladies in FR service.
  20. Narrow Gauge, Ffestiniog Railway Linda and Blanche. Two of my favourite engines 😄
  21. You don't want to use walls or barriers in Rally, they can bite back just as easily as save you. Doubt an F1 car would do very well trying the same move either. 🤣
  22. There were times that Bottas did seem like the no2 driver for Merc. However, was Rosberg a no2 driver? I personally don't think so. It was during the Hamilton/Rosberg era that Merc were most dominant. The other teams started closing the gap and at points during the Hamiltion/Bottas period even began to overtake Merc. They had to change the way they managed their drivers or they'd all loose. You could say Merc were looking for a No2 driver when they hired Bottas. They'd had enough of managing two title rivals! Hopefully the 10% reduction in RBs areo testing will help the other teams catch up. If I were Merc I'd even think about holding back to let Ferrari take second in the constructors if it meant more testing time. OFC the lower prize money is an issue doing that.
  23. I think it doesn't help that RB are steamrollering it now. Unlike Mercs era of dominance there is very much a no1 driver in that team. Yes, Bottas was pretty close to a no2 driver at times however that was when other teams had gotten close enough to mount a challenge. I doubt Perez will be allowed to make a run on the title like Nico was at Merc. Earlier this year it was great to see Ferrari mounting a credible challenge and the two teams battling. I really hope either they or Merc can close the gap for next year.
  24. I do think it's right to draw a line under the 2021 season and not mess around with point deductions and the like. Yes, it was that season that they overspent but there was that many, shall we say, issues with the final race of the season already. What's already been said is causing people annoyance and upset after they've moved on from it and put it behind them. It was always going to be something that affects Red Bull going forwards. It's a shame this didn't come out 9 to 10 months ago before this season started. Hopefully the FIA will be quicker to confirm this years cost cap compliance. To be clear, I don't much like Red Bull. However, I can see why they are getting the types of penalty they are getting. Yes, deduction to 2022 points would be nice but I doubt it would make much difference. They'd still win the championship given the number of races left. It's a 'minor' breach so they're not going to get anything 'major'. A fine and reduction in windtunnel time is proportionate. I just wish that the fine was included within the cost cap. Be that included now so it impacts next years car or in 2023. I feel this is a different type of fine then the procedural one that Williams had earlier this year. It's a sporting fine as overspending has impacted them sportingly, if you see what I mean.
  25. From the BBC's updated report: That is wrong IMO, it should be included within the budget cap for next year. What's the betting that if another team do the same thing next year they'll get a harder punishment.
