James,
I have been very impressed following your build and your hard work is really paying off, that control desk is brilliant with the dials etc added as well. It will make your project different having more less modelled motive power and it has certainly inspired me to look into building a kit in the future.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Pete,
Good luck for the show hope it all goes well for you. As the others have said your finescale work is very good to follow and the standards you have achieved are outstanding. The whole presentation of the layout is first rate and you have to look twice to see how you have got it all to fit in a box file like that! It will be good to see your building when it is complete as well. Shame I won't be at the show to see it.
Thanks,
Mark

James,
That sentinal is looking great - I am following your progress with this as I would like to make an industrial shunter in the future for either an MOD or industrial type of sidings and seeing your work is very good to learn from and I am really impressed with how this is taking shape, please keep up the posts as well as the great work,
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Jamie & Pete,
Thanks for the kind comments always appreciated. Pete I am looking forward to seeing your building as well!

Hi James,
Clever idea for a post and very nice detail makes the whole scene very realistic. Those cosmetic fish plates do make a real difference and the colours used for your track work are spot on.
Thanks,
Mark

HI James,
Nice to see an update on your layout - cracking job on the loco and it looks really good in that setting!

Hi James,
One thing I always like about your projects is your sketches! They are brilliant and help to create that visual picture of how everything is going to look when built. That shunter will be a nice project in its own right. Looking forward to seeing it!

Pete,
This layout is a great idea and I shall enjoy watching this progress as I have with your other work always interesting to follow!

That looks great. I have had my eye on doing a Sentinal from Judith Edge as it can sit on a black beetle bogie so at least I wouldn't have to worry about getting ti to run right but I don't know if I would have the patience to create a loco half as good as yours is coming along!
Keep up the good work as it will be great to see this one finished.

Hi Pete,
That is a shame but please don't stop the progress on this layout as it would be great to actually be able to see it finished one day at an exhibition!

James,
That looks like it is going to be a very good building - I don't know how you found the paitence to cut out those windows with all that detail. I am looking forward to seeing your layout completed already!
Keep up the good work - it certainly will be worth it looking at that,

That detailing work looks superb - really like the greased buffers you have captured that perfectly - I need to have a go at that on my 2 108's at some point!
Thanks,

WOW! Those shots are amazing - your layout has come on at a such a pace and the quality is superb - really like the line up of 60's - looking forward to seeing more of this as it takes shape!

Looking good Pete, looks like you are making really good progress again - it will be a cracking layout once its finished with the viaduct and everything in place. Keep up the great work.

Really like the look of both of these - great attention to detail and they will look good on any layout shame they aren't going into operation as they look very good!
-
Looking really good James - I like the use of staples on the interior seating as it creates a depth of realism and great attention to detail by you. I will be interested to see the finished article as the Northern Livery suits the pacer quite well.
Keep up the good work!

Thankyou both for your kind comments! Might get more work done if I stopped playing trains - I even ran an old Hornby 56 and a pair of lima 31's tonight but never got any pics. Must concentrate on getting the track finished and wired for DCC then I can run my sound fitted fastline 56 as well!
Thanks again,
Mark

Looking good Pete - This will have some very nice trackwork looking at that so far!

James, That is going to be a cracking unit when it is finished! Like the look of it already with all the work you have done.

Hi Pete,
Oh no believe me she isn't - the tension certainly built up that week and I decided that it was best to move it back before she had any accidents near it as she would call them! LOL

This has been very interesting to look through. I never think to look that closely at overseas modelling but some of the results achieved are simply stunning, I have certainly got some ideas from this and I although I have done some weathering to my stock it takes me forever to do and I still have a lot to learn to get up to your standard - certainly inspiring though!

Hi Jack,
Great to see your layout is still progressing well! You should put your Colas 47 onto a timber flow - I know it won't be exactly right but you could wait until Hornby bring out their OTA's and use the excuse that DB Schenker have hired them out to them! Just an idea - keep up the good work.

Hi Pete,
Great to see you starting another small project. Will keep watching to see how this one develops!

Hi Andi,
That looks great! I was keen to see the new noses and I am well impressed - very neat finish on the livery as always! Glad you got a Blog up and running - will need to find some time to get mine going soon!

Hi Eddie,
Thanks for the link as I hadn't seen your station building up to now but I am glad that I have! Sorry about the window sizes not being scale for the buildings on the WHL structures - I probably told you before but I took them from measuring my old Edinburgh tennament flat windows and doors as they were on hand to measure to create the effect.
I will speak to Martin about etching the windows from your plans as he is pretty useful having done some 2fs stuff recently and he might be interested as he could possibly do them in 2 mm as well. I'll let you know when I see him next.
I used the Wills sheet for the Shingles on the entrance shelter but filed them down first the main walls were done using a thin sheet from Slaters I think that created the effect - I agree 2mm would have been the best option but I couldn't find anything to suit either.
It certainly looks very good Eddie and will look forward to catching up with you at Glasgow!
All the best,
Mark
