  1. It’s looking very good Martin. Like the MK2 conversions. cheers Mark
  2. Hi thank you for your order, don’t worry about the Jan 24 date. We set an automated date far in advance on pre-orders to avoid them activating early. thanks Mark
  3. Hello everyone, During this week the amended production samples arrived with Ben at Revolution which were then sent up to us in Scotland for final approval. The factory in China have done a great job getting the slight revisions made to improve the colour density in a couple of areas. I was really pleased opening the box for the first time and seeing the difference this has made. Whilst none of us wanted this slight delay it really has been worth the extra couple of months to get the finished wagons up to the standards we want to see as modellers ourselves. They are now ready to leave China and we are just waiting on shipping schedules and estimated delivery to the UK. If you’ve not ordered yet, we still have all 19 wagons available and orders can be placed now ready for despatch when the wagons arrive into stock with us. Thank you to everyone who has ordered already, we will post further news of delivery dates soon. thank you Mark Rainbow Railways
  4. Thanks @charliepettyfor mentioning the 156’s which won’t be that far away now. Thanks to Charlie we have all the standard releases available to pre-order now. As part of this run we are getting a getting a number of models that will get painted and printed into small runs as we did during quite a lot during lockdown so if there are particular liveries you want to see let us know. Thank you Mark
  5. It’s not a scam - our new function added a £1 to registered users when we activated it. thanks Mark
  6. It’s a new facility added to our website and it’s generated a £1 for you. thanks Mark
  7. No issues - it’s a new function on the website so all registered customers have gained a£1. Thanks Mark
  8. Hello everyone, Sorry for any concerns caused for all our customers who have an account registered with us yesterday. We have introduced a new facility on the website which will allow you to add credit into a secure wallet. It’s something that’s been requested especially with the ever growing number of items to pre-order. As part of activating this function, £1 has been deposited into your wallet. All safe & secure but you’ve gained an extra £1 on us. All the best Mark
  9. Hi everyone, There is an awful lot of excitement about the new Accurascale 37’s, especially with them not far away. There are going to be a fair few disappointed modellers this time around who will have possibly left it too late to order. A lot of our remaining stock at Rainbow Railways has been getting pre-ordered very fast over the last 2 weeks and we only have a few models left of certain releases so worth a look if you are still after one. From my own modelling point of view I am looking forward to quite a few 37’s arriving. My interest in the Cumbrian Coast and DRS fleet means the 37/6’s were a much needed gap needing filled and 606 & 609 are perfect. With both having seen use on the early top and tail Northern services a clever choice from Gareth. 37402 & 37409 in large logo were also regulars especially 402 which seemed to turn up the most when I was back in Barrow. I’ve seen 37419 at Derby and even through Linlithgow on test trains so thought this would add a bit of variety livery wise too. The modern LED lights on the 37/4’s is also a detail not previously available. Looking forward to getting these soon thanks Mark
  10. Hi Gareth, These look excellent and will finish off my Warflats nicely. Glad I ordered plenty of the choks from you when I got the flats as they will come in handy. I’ll get an order in once your back open after the show. Cheers Mark
  11. Hi everyone, @Accurascale Franthe roof details look much better in that photo. I guess it’s just a case on earlier samples the factory not knowing how far to push them home. Good news with the first ones arriving in April I can count 37402 as a birthday present. I’ll worry about explaining the others later. I saw 402 in its large logo guise the most at Barrow when working the coast trains and 37409 will keep it company. 37419 was at Derby at the RTC when we went so will be nice on a test train. I’ll look forward to these arriving soon. Thanks Mark
  12. Hi Cav & Alex, At first I didn’t think I had an excuse for these wagons, as excellent as they look. I then realised that I had seen them in photos on Flickr in use on the Hamworthy stone trains. They ran mixed in with other boxes right up to fairly recent years but there are a couple of very good photos with class 60’s on a block of 10 wagons which I will look forward to recreating thanks to this excellent release. All the best Mark
  13. It was good to meet you too and thanks for solving the mystery of the first 60 I remember seeing at Blackpool. I’ve already ordered a coal sector one but may add a second to recreate this one. I’ve managed to sell a couple of Hornby ones so far to make a bit of room. 60095 is another 90’s contender to recreate the network northwest day from 1992. Think that was the same day you did your mini tour. All the best Mark
  14. It’s great to see 413 being done, perfect for the Cumbrian Coast TPO. This will definitely be getting added to my fleet for Plumpton. Cheers Mark
  15. Hi everyone, It’s good to see the Hattons 66 tooling acquired and improved by Accurascale. The list of changes to address all the QC failings of the original releases will make these solid performers from the box. I certainly enjoyed some Hattons bargains and doing the fixes but having these done before opening the box might just help me find time to build a layout. Out of the first six announced it’s nice to get an ex DB - DRS 66122 as that’s seen plenty of use North of the border. Despite the number of 66004 repaints we have done, I never got one for myself so I’ve ordered that. I saw the real loco up close as it was in the special line up for COP26 at the Mossend rail event. That will be the second Accurascale loco from that event as 92020 was named the same day. We have all six available to pre-order now at Rainbow Railways. All the best Mark
  16. Hello everyone, Thanks to my friends at Revolution they kindly let me borrow a painted sample of the new FNA-D nuclear flask wagon. Here it is on Morecambe with a working from Heysham to Sellafield top and tailed by a pair 66’s. The tooling is very fine all round with exquisite printed detail. I know how much work has gone into this wagon with the support of DRS to get it so accurate and at £32.95 is exceptionally good value. It’s a shame I’ve got to hand it back in the morning but will look forward to getting mine in due course. All the best Mark
  17. Hello everyone, An excellent choice by Cav and Alex to take on the 60. It’s a loco I’ve always liked from when they first appeared. I thought I was quite happy with my Hornby ones until I was shared the renders and photos of the 3D print which I will get a proper look at in Glasgow. Knowing how far Cav can push the cad designs this will be an exceptionally good model and as Alex said in the video it really captures the cab shape well. I will certainly be adding a few of these to my own collection. We are fortunate to be a Cavalex stockist and the full range are available to pre-order now from us with just a £30 deposit to secure the 60 of your choice. You can order any variant and just pop a note if you want sound fitted at this stage. I’m sure the price will be very competitive as with the 56. https://rainbowrailways.co.uk/ All the best Mark
  18. Hi Fran, Nice to see this selection of liveries being added. The intercity brake completes a real oddball set for Plumpton along with a pair of 2B’s previously announced. The WCRC pair will also find a home on Rannoch for the second Jacobite set. See you in Glasgow all the best Mark
  19. Hi adb968008, The 142 is an entirely separate project coming from Realtrack so need to be concerned in any way about pre-orders. They were regular fixtures on the Furness line (I remember being quite annoyed at the age of 7 or 8 that a proper 31 and coaches had been replaced by the equivalent of our corporation buses) so I will be having 2 or 3 to recreate the local services. The 142 is a brand new model completely - Cad shots have been shared by Realtrack on the 142 topic and you can see it’s shaping up to be a very nice unit. Hope that helps Cheers Mark
  20. Again a good spread from Bachmann so hopefully something of interest for everyone. I was pleased to see 37175 in Colas and the MXA lobsters are a great choice. cheers Mark
  21. Congratulations ladies from all of us at Rainbow Railways. Great to see model shops recognised around the country for the services they provide and of course the support from Bachmann in ensuring customers can get to see models in shops. All the best Mark
  22. Morecambe gets its new sleeper service as the Lowlander diverts at Hest Bank! The total layout including fiddle yard is only 8 foot so the Edinburgh portion just fit on to have a look at them. I went for these as I can get the most use out of them on south bound workings with the 4 cars for Rannoch and with a highland mainline layout planned the 8 car set can run on that. Really need those 73/9’s though. They are nicely finished and well detailed and come in nice presentation boxes too. I must also pass on my thanks to Patrick at Accurascale for all his help sorting out my orders and payments earlier this week. All the best Mark
  23. Hello everyone, If anyone is after the Cavalex class 56 but has any concerns about pre-ordering we have the full range of 56’s available to pre order now at Rainbow Railways. We take a £30 deposit which will ensure you get the model you want and this can be refunded to you if you change your mind or circumstances change. The team behind Cavalex are good modellers and are producing some excellent products for us all to enjoy. I had no hesitation in ordering the BBA’s directly when they were first announced as I had followed Cav and Alex on RMweb for many years before we even met. Since we opened our own shop it’s great to be able to stock their products and I’m looking forward to seeing them at Glasgow. All the best Mark
  24. Hello everyone, I have to say I rather like the new class 92 from accurascale. 92003 Beethoven is the first to get detailed up and changed to 2003 ish condition. The sound set up is excellent with its twin speakers with loud, clear sounds across the range. Lighting functions and the working pans are also well done. I detailed the front end with the supplied parts, removed the tension lock. Added the etched arrows and depot plaques. The bodyshell unclips easily (I did manage to ping a grill off doing this) these are very fine etched parts and the factory did a good job carefully putting these on with tiny dabs of glue. I can see how these will come off through handling and are easy to fit back with a very tiny spot of glue on a pin. I would certainly rather have this fine detail on a model as it looks good. The cab was unclipped and removed for a couple of crew to be added. There’s also a card sheet of window blinds in the box which were cut out and fixed in place. I replaced the overhead flashes for the yellow versions (with our own transfers at Rainbow Railways) to suit the era. I also painted over the silver with light grey on the pick up shoes and eventually a light weathering will finish it off nicely. The 92 is a superb release from Accurascale. With the sound, lighting functions and working pans they offer very good value for money too. All the best Mark

    Heljan OO 86/2

Hi everyone, The 86/2 is a welcome development of the 86 model. Les Ross is perfect for the WCRC stock and for the early 2000’s a pair of Virgin ones are ordered with 1 to be renamed and numbered. The EWS model is tempting as I’m sure I saw it at Darlington on a parcels working around 2000/1. All the best Mark
