  1. Hi Fran, Patrick & team, It was great to once again be able to meet and chat in person. Nice to see you in Glasgow. Always good to be able to see the progress of models and there was a lot to see on the stand. You know how delighted I am by those rather nice 31’s, lots of great detail on display and variation. It’s the loco I wanted to see Gareth do justice to and there’s already a few in the first batch I will be ordering. Other highlights for me are 92’s, the new PFA’s and loads for the nuclear trains and the 2B’s look very good too. All the best Mark
  2. Hi everyone, Im delighted to see the FNA-D announced from Revolution. I’ll be able to run one on Morecambe but with my larger Cumbrian Coast layout planned several will join the fleet. Thanks Mark
  3. Hi Eamon, Shame you can’t make it this year, hope the move goes well, but hopefully catch up soon cheers Mark
  4. Hi Dave, I was going to message you to see if you were coming, brilliant that you are I will look forward to seeing you. see you soon thanks Mark
  5. Hello everyone, The team at Revolution along with the factory in China have been busy producing the artwork and first decorated samples of our TUA tank wagons. Ben has sent me through some images of these samples which have arrived and you’ll be able to see for yourselves this coming weekend 25th-27th Feb 2022 at Model Rail Scotland on both Revolution and Rainbow Railways stands. All our TUA’s are still available to order via our website at our early bird price of £35 each . We look forward to seeing you there, thanks Mark *please note these are first painted samples to check colours and printing and changes will be made before final production.
  6. Hi Kar, You can run any of the DRS PFA’s to make your full trainload. The wagons are all individually numbered correctly so you can add on an empty pair from a different pack to extend your train of big boxes. The containers are all numbered differently and in the case of the low height ones make the journey from Sellafield to Drigg once as they then get stacked up and eventually when each section is full get covered over. The stone and spoil for these get loaded from local quarry’s at Barrow docks and moved by rail. hope that helps cheers Mark
  7. Hi everyone, It was nice to see these return for the collectors club and already arrived too. Whilst these tend to run in blocks, when they were being introduced onto the Oxwellmains to Inverness workings there were plenty of workings with just a couple of wagons mixed in with the older 4 wheel types of PCA which I sometimes saw behind a Colas 60 or 70. Cheers Mark
  8. That looks great in RES. The new Malcolm one is supposed to be going on 034. I was surprised there wasn’t a plain DB red one but I’m still adding a Virgin one and the Freightliner in triple grey from this batch. cheers Mark
  9. So that TT range really is in development then! Makes a lot of commercial sense, smaller so you can get more on each shipping container to help reduce shipping costs and being smaller means people can run longer trains in the same space so will need to buy more from you. Look forward to seeing you all in Glasgow. cheers Mark
  10. Hi Nick, Thanks for your kind words. Apart from the base white colour which is sprayed on the rest of the livery is printed directly onto the body shells. Thanks Mark
  11. Anyone doing an all nighter so they don’t sleep through their alarms and miss all the announcements?
  12. Merry Christmas Dave to you and the family. Hope to see you at Glasgow. All the best Mark
  13. Hello everyone, Must be nearly Christmas with all the festive banter on here! Anyway back to the Cavalex 56, I was extremely lucky to have a visit from Alex up here in Linlithgow when he brought our BBA’s and BLA’s for Rainbow Railways. He very kindly brought the stock box with samples of the HAA, TEA’s and Bardon Hoppers and the very impressive 3D print of the 56. We’ve seen the excellent renders from CAV and the photos of the prints on here but until you see it in the flesh you really can’t appreciate the level and depth of detail that is being incorporated. As a modeller I am certainly looking forward to seeing the progress and the tooled samples next year. The 3D prints show the attention to detail across all cab styles. The cab interior is very fine, the drivers seats with arm rests look great. The under frame detail around the tanks is all there and the bogies even as a print show the depth, level of detail that has been added and this adds to the weighty appearance of the real thing. These are going to be seriously impressive models and I’m looking forward to adding them to my fleet. And despite the Friday club telling me to keep hold of it, Alex made sure all goodies were safely packed and taken home. Cheers Mark
  14. Hello, Never mind all the excitement about the HAA’s, it’s the 4 packs of MHA’s I’m looking forward to getting. Nice to see the variety/variations offered within the artwork which will just add to the interest in creating a typical engineers working. Thanks Mark
  15. Hi Fran & Co, Seeing how this topic has reached page 31…. It must be time to let Gareth get on with the Class 31 please. He is definitely the man for the job and theres so many detail variations that haven’t been done and can’t be done with existing tooling elsewhere. Thanks Mark
  16. Hi Matt, Thanks for the kind words. We’ve got a few offers online this weekend and our new exclusive is the Viridian Green livery on Revolutions model of Caroline. Thanks Mark
  17. Hello everyone, As Mike has posted above we are delighted to be able to offer Caroline in Viridian Green. It travelled far and wide in this livery and creates the perfect train for all your DRS 37’s and 47’s that appeared regularly with it. Available to order now from Rainbow Railways at the early bird price of £149. If your not online we can take your order in person or over the phone too. Our thanks to Revolution for allowing us to do this option with them. Thanks Mark https://rainbowrailways.co.uk/product/revolution-southern-region-general-managers-inspection-saloon-975025-caroline-viridian-green/ Caroline_email.pdf

  19. Hi Fran and Co, This is another really useful and well timed announcement, having nicked the MK1’s I had to go into the SRPS rake. I was planning a mix of Pullman, MK 1 and MK2a’s for the mainline WCRC charter set and spotted the MK2b’s mixed in so these will fit perfectly and full the missing gap. Thanks Mark
  20. Hi Ben, It’s good to see the progress with the 86. I’ve a pair of Freightliner cans on order and with Arran doing the FSA/FTA flats in the future they will have a nice trainload to pull. With Newlands Park set late 80’s/early 90’s the earlier liveries are a bit tempting as would 401 in NSE if you do it. Les Ross/Peter Pan would of course be my preferred choice to run with the WCRC stock. All the best Mark
  21. Hi everyone, Our Bachmann delivery arrived on Friday and included the 150’s. I was really pleased to see the Regional Railways GMPTE livery announced and thanks to Ron for allocating an extra sound fitted version that I can add to my fleet. Fits in nicely on Morecambe. (just ignore it’s in more current colours) The sound file on these is really good too. The engine start up includes the dimming lights as the engine rattles into life which looks really effective. Plenty of sounds to play with through the various Function keys and has nice engine sounds as it moves off. Thanks Mark
  22. Hi everyone, By coincidence I saw the Accurascale email earlier today, whilst attending the low carbon logistics event at Mossend. 92020 had been brought in ready for its naming by the Stirling family, after their dad. It was a very poignant moment for them and a great effort by GB to arrange. Glorious Scottish weather, the rain came on just as we were all about to head down to the naming! Of course seeing this today has prompted this one to be ordered and in due course we will do the nameplates for it. Thanks Mark
  23. That’s us all sold out. Thank you to everyone that’s put an order in with us. thanks Mark
  24. Hello everyone, This weekend we have a very special offer on Heljan BOC tanks at just £45 each. Get them while you can. Thanks Mark https://rainbowrailways.co.uk/product-category/Heljan-wagons-oo-gauge/Heljan-boc-tankers/?fbclid=IwAR1xyOzFu6xzAM_pBi7rXB_Gbf8tiHjcFglzZC9EyNEG6i-spGpHuuRQ97M
  25. Hello, I would agree about the need for more units being made - but I can also see the difficulty in finding those that will sell well. I would really like a 185 but although seen use over a wide area it’s limited to a couple of liveries and it’s length etc doesn’t help it’s case for using parts/chassis on other projects. The 175 is more practical and the 180 can be done too. The others that I would like are 325 195 397’s Thanks Mark
