  1. I had contacted Dapol twice in the past, and at the first time when Dave was still there I received a reply. The second time when I asked which DCC chip the used in their Class 27, and if I can get any information about the DCC chip, They only replied to me that I should contact DCC Concepts. I did and never received an E-Mail from them. But I think, when they offer a factory equipped loco with decoder. That they should know the make of the decoder. Markus
  2. Hello Richard, thank you for your reply. Markus

  6. Since my last post things in my personal live have changed. My wife and I decided to seperate. We are seperating in a good way, so no struggling and fighting. But these means that I have to move in a new home. But if everything is going according to the plan these will be the last move. These is because I will move in to my parents house, where I will move in to a room under the roof, and I get a room in the basement. These room measures 4x4 meters (about the size of my previous layout room). These time I could use all my modules and segments I have at the moment, and I don't have to sell or tear down parts of the layout. I will also held an last operating session before the move by the end of these month. During these time I try to scenic the harbour area. After the end of June, I think I won't make great progress unless the benchwork construction in the new layoutroom until autum. During the last few weeks I started with the scenic work on the harbour area. I painted the water surface with Marabu acrylic blue colour, and drybrushed it with a olive green colour from the same company. I dressed the pier walls with Slaters embossed plastic card, and painted it with Revell email paint. The pier surface was made with Moltofill Modelling past, which cures softer than spackling compound. When dry I embossed the cobble stones with a rolling stamp from RailNscale. After these I painted the surface with acrylic grey, and drybrushed it with light grey, brown, sand colour and white. The first layer of water is created with Marabu window colour cristal clear, which will be followed by a second layer in the next few days. I also addes some puddles on the pier surface with the window color. Markus
  7. Hello, that is a good question. Or is Graham Farish/Bachmann intending to offer additional coach sets, as they did in 00? Markus
  8. Hello Dave, maybe you could build an additonal segment with 50cm in length. And add these between the fiddle yard and the station boards. Maybe your local home improvement store could cut the required wood for you in length. Markus
  9. Hello, which Fleischmann chassis have you used for the Interfrigo van? Thank you Markus
  10. Hello, I like your scratchbuilt ferry vans. Any tips on how to build them and drawings in N gauge would be great, especially the Interfrigo one. These would be a nice addition to my scottish n gauge layout. Markus

  14. Hello, I believe there is an 009 layout on the exhibition circuit called Angst - Lesspork, which is inspired by the Disc World books. And not a layout but I build a module, which is called Glenbogle Viaduct. The name is inspired by the BBC Scotland Series Monarch of the Glen. Markus

  20. Hello, dunring the last few days I wired the track of my Lochdubh terminus. Now I can concentrate my efforts for the turnout motors. I plan to use servos, in combinations with the MERG Servo 4 board. Today I could run the first locos and trains since January 2017 on my layout. 22. Hello, during the last weeks I added some additional storage space above my fiddle yard, and installed lights above the fiddle and Lochdubh. I also started with the construction of the station building which is based on Mallaig Station, and the platform. I built these from styrene strips of different sizes. Markus

    Ask Dave

Hello Dave, a Caledonian 0-6-0 in N would be great. One or two in British Railways Livery would find their way to my layout too. Markus
