Hi,
My sound dcc Yeo arrived from RoS yesterday, as with PaulRhB I had to reassemble the same parts, fortunately without any difficulty. The box had a very slight crimp on one corner.
The email from RoS notified me that Exe would follow "later".

I now have an email from PayPal that RoS have taken an amount which equates to said Exe DCC Sound order, usally RoS notification follows within a couple of days and the parcel arrives within a couple more..

I think these Pendolinos get better and better! Straight out of the top quality boxes it runs smoothly and quietly. The power cars are very powerful and the significant weight, coupled with traction tyres, means they can handle anything. This is my fourth Pendolino and I think it is the best. The detail throughout the train is exquisite and it has a real presence on the layout. It looks beautiful with superb and truly well executed livery. As with the others, the lighting in the first class coaches is an added bonus. All together, the best train on my layout and with the size on my collection, that is saying something!
Thanks, once again to all at Revolution!!!!Ged
I'd agree with you wholeheartedly, but patiently awaiting my balance invoice as the guys are undoubtedly up to their ears in invoicing and getting stuff shipped out presently.
I'm just that little bit jealous in that I had arranged to pick mine up at GETS along with 3 class 128s (yes, that kinda railway!) but my carer went poorly so we couldn't go, I know they'll turn up soon enough.
I do know what you mean though as that's exactly how I feel about the flowing silk version (my carer prefers the full Avanti having seen the real ones) and it's presentation packaging when it arrived not so long ago. This will also be my fourth!
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
Just paid the balances on my 3, slightly complicated by filling in the form to collect these and the Pendolino set at GETS but then no-showing due to a poorly carer.
I did contact form RevolutioN on Sunday morning to advise them, and now feeling a little less envious knowing they will be with me presently.
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
Yes, also just received an email notification from Hattons on pre-orders for the new batch of 5-car sets but, not yet at least, the 9-car.
Regards, Gerry.
And now also Train Trax an RoS with the Paddington set.

I wonder will the new release show up in UK shops? I've just seen it as a pre-order on the Japanese sites so far.
Hi,
Maurice of Osborn's posted a link on groups.io for Paddington pre-orders early last week with a precise "due Feb 29th 2024"
I was expecting more dealers to follow by now but maybe there's some sort of big spending event coming up that they may be more focused on.
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
My triplet handed over by postie yesterday, perhaps to save on packaging 3 of the extra 8 ordered 40's already loaded!
Very nice to add to the originals 😎 I still have some Shapeways prints in my 'to do' drawer so I guess I'm well stocked up on these now...

Hello Peter,
Yes, that is right. Our pricing structure is designed to 'reward' pre-order customers with a discounted price as we realise that ordering before the models are made is a bit of a leap of faith.
However, there is always a cohort of customers who prefer to buy post production - for a variety of perfectly good reasons - so Rails and other retailers usually take stocks for sale at a price that naturally includes a margin for them.
In terms of timings, the models are in production since, IIRC, August and in normal times we would be expecting them to have beeb shipped by now, however there are still some restrictions in China that slow production and current guidance is that these models will ship to the UK in the next 4-6 weeks.
Hope this is of use.
cheers
Ben A.
Can't get away from the day job?
Regards, Gerry.

We were told the three batches would be delivered at monthly intervals. Of course that could just be a game of Chinese whispers.

Having seen the colour of the NR version, I think I’ll be passing, it is a very strange almost orangey yellow. With the errors on these and the Mk3 sleepers it’s not exactly inspiring me with any confidence in Dapol at the moment…

Hi again David,
I'd been worried by the images on the website, but part of the enjoyment on unpacking my parcel was the relief that the NR 73 was in no way orangey, in fact it's a slight shade more lemoney than the Graham Farish NR BCK I had recently.
Running in has also gone flawlessly, not a wobble to be seen, although I've not tested the haulage limits for these featherweight loco's...

Hi,
The courier service is pronounced "Oops".
So, as usual with courier services I'm hostage to when it turns up because for a top international service the 'tracker' doesn't help significantly, and when there's a knock on my door at about 3pm I'm both excited and wondering who let him into the building because that's not supposed to happen at that time of day.
Anyhow I answer the knock and the guy says "the guy opposite isn't answering so will you take this parcel for him?", of course I'm disappointed, and I also dislike the guy opposite so I'm about to sat "NO" when my fundamentally pleasant nature kicks in (the family motto is Ut Prosim according to a postcard I have)) and I say "YES".
As delivery guy is toying with his tech I look at the (correctly numbered) address label and it's me! - "It's ME!" I say in delight as my disappointment is totally forgotten. Delivery guy then scans my parcel label and I say "thank you" as he leaves, no attempt at face-saving. I'm lucky he tried me I guess.
Anyhow, after I attend to the unpacking - it takes me a while to enjoy my first look at them, I then check my emails and there's one saying my parcel couldn't be delivered and telling me where my local Access Point is. Just out of curiosity I look it up and it's beyond my disability-limited range and there's no carer help available to do so for me. A second email at around 7pm tells me it's now available for collection for the next seven days after which it'll be returned to the sender - I'd like to see that!
I've always used the well known three=letter name for them, but from now on I'll always pronounce it "Oops!"
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
3 hours ago, bmthtrains - David said:I’ll be keen to hear your thoughts on them, whether the motors have been upgraded etc. I may be tempted by one if they don’t wobble like my old SWT one did!
David
From memory, so we're already on dodgy ground with that, my SWT ran fine - in fact it was because I was never happy with the livery rendition it's been earmarked for some time as the donor chassis for a 73/9 3D printed shell I have from Shapeways. If I can find the time I'll set up a test track sometime in the coming week.

Still, worth the wait I reckon given the likely price differential, I know only too well that under other circumstances I'd have gladly waited just that bit longer for mine...
Regards, Gerry.

If you can show me where there is any 'wriggle room' from both statements to support that comment I'd be most obliged.
