  1. Hi, On the Dapol stand last weekend: Regards, Gerry.
  2. Hi, On the Dapol stand last weekend: Regards, Gerry.
  3. Hi, My trio of wagons delivered by postie this morning, excellent! Regards, Gerry.
  4. Hi, BRUTEs basking in the sunshine at New Street, although one has rather rashly lost contact with the herds, did it survive I wonder: I would accompany my wheelchair user friend when we were escorted via the lifts and tunnels under the tracks to board her train, such was disabled accessibility back in the day... Regards, Gerry.
  5. Hi Will, I'd be more inclined under similar circumstance to go DCC fitted sound and a rolling road, you could then also re-live the aural experiences as well. Regards, Gerry.
  6. Be very careful what you wish for... Alber Bahnbetriebswerke Munster Sud Fintonagh Gare De Brindille Gouttieres Marmagne Marmagne Norge Obbekar Obertonberg Tamaro With my usual apologies regarding image quality. My back gave up far too early on but while it lasted I greatly enjoyed the show, my carer was also very positive and has agreed a Didcot/Pendon weekend next summer with only the vaguest notion of what those two words entail... Regards, Gerry.
  7. Hi, Maurice at Osborn's Models does them in his Arch Laser Cut range for N: https://www.osbornsmodels.com/archn0030-arch-laser-brunel-timber-viaduct-modular-kit-300mm-deck-length-46833-p.asp I have room, and serious intentions, for three or maybe even four... Being laser cut he might be persuaded towards other scales... Regards, Gerry.
  8. Hi, I had a look at the original topic and found this by 70021 Morning Star: https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/20828-Dapol-britannia/&do=findComment&comment=1947401 Possible? Regards, Gerry.
  9. Hi, Wayne has now posted links to template downloads (courtesy NGF): Regards, Gerry.
  10. Hi Andy, If you're really uncertain I'd seriously suggest hitting the pause button and getting yourself along to some model rail shows, you can often see layouts and stock and talk to operators in either scale with enough hands on experience to have gotten them that far, and judge for yourself which way is going to end up being the most rewarding / satisfying for you. Viewing stock/buildings/scenery on an operating layout is often a quite different experience from working on individual items in ultra detail or taking ultra detailed close-up photos. I model in both N and in O and accept the compromises that both necessarily entail in the space and skills I have available to me, but enjoy greatly what each offer. If you, quite sensibly, have to choose just one scale then first getting 'up close and personal' with what you will be committing to live with would seem to me to be best. Regards, Gerry.
  11. Hi Ryan, Since you have an order placed I'd guess that you've had the email showing 30th September as the deadline, so time enough to make the change. As they have quite a lot to do at the moment I'd suggest a 'belt-and-braces' approach; email them via the contact us on the website and PM them through here. I have no doubt that Ben and Mike make every effort to follow the many topic posts here and on other forums but with the content of their email in mind I'd consider making the additional contacts. Don't forget to include your invoice details - number and full name etc. Regards, Gerry.
  12. Hi, I mentioned this on a RevolutioN topic in answer to a query about TINGS but in case it was missed, there was an image posted by RailGooner on the NGF yesterday, only a small part of the image: https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/gallery/81/5427-140919192608-814871789.jpeg but on enlargement, the description card reads: Regards, Gerry.

  14. Hi, I've been looking forward to this despite only having a single, incomplete, visiting train for my layout: I don't doubt there will be temptations aplenty to add to my meager collection. I thoroughly enjoyed the show that used to be at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. I'll also be breaking-in a new carer who is blissfully unaware of the delights of exhibitions, trying to avoid broadcasting my very limited knowledge on the subject Regards, Gerry.
  15. Hi, Currently showing +£2 over goal, well done... Regards, Gerry.
  16. Hi, Posted elsewhere and in October '19 Railway Modeller News page: http://www.revolutiontrains.com/the-incredible-bulk-30-containers-from-revolution-and-c-rail/ and https://www.c-rail-intermodal.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=18_62 Looking forward to receiving mine. Regards, Gerry. And, I now see, https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/147484-n-gauge-30ft-bulktainers-by-c-rail-and-revolution/
  17. Hi Ian, Glad to have been of help. Just couldn't help loving it the moment I opened the pages back then, when I got hold of the Railscale vhs (Vol.3, a search may find copies - Amazon had one a couple of days ago) I was probably more excited by Blaenycwm than any of the others on the tapes. Colour! Movement! Growling Gears! Solenoid Cluncks! (really informative commentary) - Magic!!! I really hope the attached screen grabs don't create problems for Admin/Mods... Regards, Gerry.
  18. Hi, As mentioned previously I'd been informed that Valiant would be sent out this week: Now to pack up Sir Edward... Regards, Gerry.
  19. Hi Stuart, Just to add that although I do very much remember the issue with some (again, they surely went back for exchange?), I've seen a good few at exhibitions running faultlessly - just one layout example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrX348SmerY&app=desktop as do my two from new. Regards, Gerry.
  20. Hi, I might well be falling into a 'Welsh-Valleys-look-alike' trap here but the description sounds and track plan looks to me like one of my old favourites; Blaenycwm. I used to but no longer have a magazine with it in a very long time ago, but if it is that then I have a vhs to cd dvd transfer I did years ago from the short lived Railscale series (would have loved to see the N gauge project finished...), in fact I've just run it to confirm my memory of it. Too late tonight, but if it sounds right to you I could try running it through my 'puter tomorrow, hopefully some screen grabs might be copyright allowable given the age of the material... Regards, Gerry.
  21. Hi again, Yes, in the photo it's quite clearly wrong - time to take a trip to the Post Office... It's much harder to discern with the eye, but it goes back. Regards, Gerry.
  22. Hi, If nobody else puts up some better ones I'll gladly oblige tomorrow if that's ok, things have become very 'interesting times' in the last few days... Snappery not getting any better... As noted by yourself, grahame and in my previous post the pictures over-emphasize the roof panel. Regards, Gerry.
  23. Hi Markus, I remember Wayne mentioned these a few times, the last I can find was from August '18 where he mentioned: As they are often considered as not reliable enough for electrical continuity and soldering droppers is part and parcel of the turnout construction anyway I suspect there are higher priorities. Alignment shouldn't be too much of a chore with care, cosmetic fish plates from the 2mmSA track shop 1(if you are a member) http://www.2mm.org.uk/products/shops.php?shop_num=1 might be adaptable(?). Regards, Gerry.
  24. Hi, Had a little more time with my 50, removed the roof panel with the aid of a plastic tool and had a play with the cab light switching which I finally set to off and replaced the panel. The replaced panel remains unobtrusive and I doubt I'll feel the need to repeat the procedure so it shouldn't become something my eye will be drawn to. Regards, Gerry.
  25. Hi, Dapol Collectors Club 50007 arrived this morning, another of my rather dodgy snaps - sorry: Comprehensive instruction booklet, roof panel access to control lights for us non-dcc-ers. Regards, Gerry.
