Hi all,
I've been very productive on the workbench today!
How busy? Well I managed to build and prime the 4 GWR wagons that arrived yesterday.
They are now in the drying bay and, subject to weather, will get the top coat tomorrow.
Photos to come tomorrow.

HI Rod,
If I could attach an idea I've been working on - I would!
I can't - so see direct email.
Now - How do I get some PRA bodies?
Thanks

Hi all,
Ref to the Modelmaster decals....
From Jim - these are the 'next generation of decals'.
Apparently they are much finer than all previous decals he has produced.
Will wait and see how they go onto the model before saying anything else about them.
Thanks

Hi Russ,
Foir 'Raison d'etre'....
You also need to think about the British Government thinking of the subject of rail access to ports serving the North Atlantic.
Chacking back there were real concerns about how Britain would exist without additional rail access and deep water ports on the Atlantinc coast in the event of a European War.
Looking back at the various sooureces for reports the Irish situation was also a concern.
This caused the government to be interested in routes to the North Atlantic to areas where the Irish situation was minimalised.
Amazing what you can find in the documents - once you can actually get to read them!
Thanks

Hi Bryn,
Next thing I want to know is how to get one! (or more)
Looks very good....

Hi Martin,
Tanks are starting to look good...
Will have to point Rodders to the thread.
Tank Walkways.....
To make them more secure to the tank I add an extended leg to each of the tank supports.
This is then fitted into holes drilled into the tank to make the whole thing a lot more 'Exhibition Proof'.
Once you get the filler into the hole with the brass and smooth it off - you cannot see that this has been done.
Then the paint job covers it as well!
Thanks

Hi Bryn,
Have you done any of the 2FS Plate underframes?
2-378 15' BR Style 8 Shoe Fitted Underframe for Peco Plate Wagon
If so - any photos?
Just the chassis would be ideal as it's not going under a Peco Plate wagon!
Thanks

Hi there,
To me - this is a good start point as it includes most of the basic requirements to detail a Class 40....
It's not the ultimate way to do it, but it works as long as you are prepared to source other details bits as relevant to the Cl40 you are modelling.
Yes - you need to be specific and find a photo (or more ) of the specific Cl40 you intend to model.
Close observation will then enable you to see what other bits you need to source.
But - For a 'Non-Specific' 'General type' model of a Cl40 - it meets the requirememts.
Thanks
ps - the cast bits will require a fair bit of fettling before they look right and fit properly.

Hi Alan,
Looks very good.
Any other varieties of the Thompsons on the drawing board?
Thanks

Damn!
I thought we had another Scottish Convert......
Thanks

Hi Alan,
Ok - Where to start........
I like the Thompson Suburban and would need several of these for my own Edinburgh Suburban Line layout idea.
Not that they are particularly common though!
The modeller would need to have done the specific research to know if they needed them - or didnt.
My main query would be if you were to be producing them in N or 2FS?
2FS would make more sense to me (Don't ask specifically why - Yet!)
In N - How many modellers actually bother about the coaches?
Most seem to be quite happy with a generic suburban coach.
As I always say - Just my thoughts and ideas!
Thanks

Hi Alan,
Looks good - can't wait to see it finished.
Anyway - a question!
Out of all the Ultima stuff you have...
Was this one ever released in Blue/Grey?
If so...
I feel another Scottish variation coming up!

Hi there,
Those of you in the NGS will already know why I've not been posting much!
Suffice to say - the NGS ex Modelmaster range of Nameplates and Decals are available to the members again.
All waiting for decals to be done!
Thanks
