  1. I believe these equate to 5 foot radius
  2. The trouble with older models like this is the colour is the colour of the plastic and any patch overpainting is going to stand out.
  3. Take it along to your local Dulux decorating centre (B&Q?) with a colour scanner. They will scan it and suggest the nearest colour in their mixer range and there are thousands. A test tin 250ml will cost about £5.
  4. If you can get regular Humbrol enamels then No 20 Crimson gloss is an excellent match.
  5. Did you have tracking on your parcel. I must admit if I was asked to do this sort of arrangement I would definitely use it as there is too many oportunities for it to go wrong. Is there any way you can prove it has reached the UK address?
  6. Take the model to your local Dulux paint centre (other brands are available) who have a paint matching scanner. They will scan your model and suggest a matching colour. You can buy a sample tin (matt only) for about £5.
  7. As an aside does anyone know if the ABS casting business has been taken on by someone else after Adrian passed away?

    EBay madness

Swiss Cottage - one of Sam Smith's Pubs. Had a decent pint last time I was in there. No music, no TV and no singing!
  9. Vallejo satin varnish gives a good finish
  10. I do hope we are not into another Cooper-craft situation.
  11. Many ebay sellers source their items from China through Dropshipping. They use Belgium as a through post box. Is there a Tracking number ending in BE on the packet? If so thats why the CN22 is in French.
  12. These components were originally included to reduce the amount of radio frequency interference produced by the motor brushes rubbing on the commutator - the segmented copper cylinder. Motors could produce significant interference to AM radios and old TVs. Modern radios and TVs use FM and digital reception, so this is not such a problem .
  13. I have a second current account especially for buying/selling on the internet. I put funds into it when I want to buy and withdraw immediately when having sold something. It has no overdraft facility so only I can make withdrawals.
  14. Many Pics on the internet of ex SR Locos as I described
  15. I believe these are similar to the humidifiers one can buy using a piezo element and an ultrasonic exciter.
  16. Early Ex SR locos had the lettering in 'Sunshine' style. This should be on the HMRS SR Bulleid sheet.
  17. If you can get the Humbrol railway acrylics then the Pullman umber is a good substitute.
  18. There's also quite a few videos on YouTube about rhubarb.
  19. British rhubarb in the Rhubarb Triangle in Yorkshire is grown in forcing sheds in the dark. It is said you can hear the creaking as it grows.
  20. There's this site for pre BR colours. Early BR stations were often still in the old regional colours. https://www.stationcolours.com/
  21. Vallejo - (The name "Vallejo" is locally pronounced in a confused hybrid of Spanish and English. In literal English this ought to be pronounced "vuh LAY joe". In Spanish this ought to be "bah YAY hoe". But locally it's pronounced "vuh LAY hoe".) - from Wikitravel.

    EBay madness

It looks like a Airfix, Dapol kit body on a triang 2-6-2 chassis with the rear pony removed.. If I remember there was an article how to do this in an old Model railway Constructor magazine.

    SR Motor train

Wanted - Pull push driving end for SR motor train. Does anyone know where I can get one please?

This may be of interest https://www.1001modelkits.co.uk/Modeling-pouring-and-plaster/360912-easykit-97305-pewter-casting-in-clay-1set-5707167255698.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAwMP9BRCzARIsAPWTJ_Egl41jq2rc75mkIqyD3GXy-VmQu_y_v6F3b1luSTnTzrghQsI-xhMaAg3WEALw_wcB I believe pewter shrinkage is of the order of 1.5% more or less.
