  1. Thank you for the up-dates, will follow with interest. Peter would be so pleased his legacy continues. Good luck with the renovations Wendy
  2. Unfortunately space is now becoming an issue with repair work being required to my barn where the layouts are stored. With this in mind I am now going to have to consider scrapping this (and other) layout unless there is anyone/club/society that would be interested in it I will leave it for one month and then unfortunately it will be big bonfire time. If anybody knows of any interested parties please do let me know as it goes against the grain having to destroy Peters work but needs must. Continue to keep safe all Wendy
  3. To all who have expressed an interest in this layout. Firstly I must apologise for not coming back to you all but with Christmas and new year rush at work and to top it all lost all phone line/broadband after Storm Bella on Boxing Day and only re-connected 2 days ago - hows that for service! I know that everybody is now in one form of lockdown or another depending on location so there is no way for anybody to pick up this layout at present. I have not set a price on it, mainly because I just want it to go where it will be appreciated. With that in mind any of you that are still interested if you pm me with an offer will take it from there. What I will say here and now is that the layout is at present in storage in my barn, as far as I am aware it is still in very good condition but I will not rule out that some remedial work may be needed to get it back to its prime state. If a purchase is agreed with one of you then I will NOT expect any form of payment until you have seen the layout, confirmed you are happy with it and hopefully picked it up. I hope this is fair to you all Regards and a happy and hopefully better new year to you all Wendy
  4. Hi All I promised to get back to all those interested in the layout this weekend, however with the sudden cancellation of Christmas and the ensuing panic buying and the extra work for key workers like myself please bear with me and I will get back to you. As things stand the layout cannot be picked up by anybody at this stage anyway. Meanwhile everybody please try and have as good a Christmas as allowed and will contact you soon. Thanks for your patience. Wendy
  5. Just a quick note to all those of you that have sent me a PM regarding the layout, I will get back to each of you this weekend personally. At present really busy with Christmas rush at work but meanwhile thanks for all interest shown, Peter would have been chuffed!. Wendy
  6. Just a quick update to let you kow that this thread will now be taken over by Deltic Man who is now the proud owner of GTD. Hope you enjoy the layout Nik. Wendy
  7. If there is anybody out there that would be interested in buying this layout I would love to hear from you. It would be such a pity if I had to destroy it after all the work that Peter put into the building of it. Any reasonable offer would be considered as would rather it goes to a good home where it can be appeciated. Please pm me if you are interested Wendy

Please pm me if you are interested Wendy
  9. If there is anybody out there that would be interested in buying these layouts (Glen Gillie, Loch Inch and Bridge of Muir) I would love to hear from you. Glen Gillie and Loch Inch can be run as one layout or can be sold as individual layouts with Glen Gillie ending at the station as seen in the early part of this thread, and Loch Inch taking over from there. It would be such a pity if I had to destroy them after all the work that Peter put into the building of them. Any reasonable offers would be considered on any of these as I would rather they go to good homes where they can be appeciated. Please pm me if you are interested in any of the above. Wendy

  12. Hi all, I little time has now passed and I am trying to make headway with all the railwayania that has been left to me. Does anyone know of any person/s or club/society that would be interested in any of Peters magnificent layouts? It would be a travisty if I have to destroy them after all the work sweat and tears that has gone into each and every one of them. I know I will never recoup the financial costs but any reasonable offers will be considered. This is the one area where I am lost and is why I am reaching out here to his friends and followers. Please bear in mind the scale of these layouts - Peter didn't do small. Please PM me if anyone can help or advise it would be much appreciated. Take care all Wendy
  13. Model Rail have done Peter proud. Quite an extensive article with many stunning pictures. Peter would have been "chuffed" at his final published work. Hope you all enjoy reading it. Wendy
  14. Many thanks Chris. Regards Wendy
  15. Thank you Chris for those comments. Do I take it that the issue is now out or coming out very soon? I have not yet seen it. For all those following this, Peters funeral was yesterday and despite all the restrictions it went off very well and was more of a celebration of his life than a serious religious ceremony. A few tears and a lot of laughter followed by a meal at his favourite Indian restaurant, the owner - Sid - opening up especially for us which kept it private and no normal customers tutting at our not quite social distancing although we were all very careful. Once again many thanks for all your kind comments and support. Keep safe all Wendy
  16. Thank you Andy & Paul Wendy
  17. To all who have responded Thank you all for your kind comments and support. Keep safe Wendy
  18. This is just a short message for all followers of this and other threads started by Peter on this forum. Unfortunately Peter passed away yesterday morning very suddenly at home (17th) I know a great number of you knew him personally and after all he had been through this year, and got over, this will come as a shock. For those interested there is an article coming out in the next issue of Model Rail on Peters layout featuring Connel Ferry bridge, just a pity he won't now see it. Keep safe all and best wishes Wendy
  19. Just a quickie The eagle has landed
  20. Well things are moving on quickly. Lounge resembling a private hospital room with Arjo stedy and new hospital bed and air mattress already installed. Had to move out the 3 seater sofa to accommodate it all! Work not yet commenced on alterations so his wheelchair will not yet fit through into lounge without making the threshold slightly larger and installing a ramp. (This house was built pre 1645 and has 4ft thick walls so any adaptations are going to be challenging) Having said that was able earlier this week to take Bertie to see him and he was able to wheel himself out of the back entrance. Dog and man spent a good 20 minutes together whilst I remained at a distance. Be assured that I do pass on your messages to him and I know that once he is home he will be back on here himself to thank you all for your good wishes and support. Keep safe Wendy
  21. Thanks Andy, Yes all of a sudden things appear to be moving regarding his mobility capability. With the current situation physios have been moved from other locations and at present he has 2 helping him most days. In fact yesterday he was able, for the first time, to move around his room under his own steam just with the help of a frame for balance. At present though he is safe in the community hospital and I have now just started back at work. Good luck with the move Andy when it happens. Keep safe all. Thanks to all for your support. Regards Wendy
  22. Just a quick update. Peter has at last been moved to Eryri Hospital here in Caernarfon to start the intensive physio/rehabilitation he needs. Just waiting on a phone call to confirm that they have managed to get him into a wheelchair in his room and they will then get him to a window so I can take the dog (and some personal possessions for him to reception) so he can see him. They haven't seen each other for 7 weeks now. Kills 2 birds with one stone, excercise and delivery thus not going out too many times. Keep safe everyone Wendy
  23. Thanks Martyn and all at Rhyl Club. Peter has now been moved to Bangor which is one step closer but are now pushing (with agreement of Doctors and staff) for transfer to Caernarfon Community hospital where he will receive intensive rehabilitation. Will keep everyone informed as I know many are wishing him well. Wendy
  24. Hi All Just a quickie to thank you for your kind comments and all your supportive reactions to my original post. Wendy
  25. Hi All I know many people have been wondering why Peter has been so quiet on here in the past months. As many of you are aware he has not been in the best of health recently. Unfortunately this has come to a head this year and he has been in hospital for 5 weeks to date and for the forseeable future. Through his diabetes (and some less than desired GP care) he developed full blown sepsis in a foot wound which, to cut a long and torrid story short, has resulted in an amputation of a leg. He is recovering but complications due to the sepsis have to be overcome and then a long rehabilitation before he will be home again and able to chat on here. I have posted this to ensure that no variations of the facts start to circulate amongst the modelling fraternity. We are just taking things a day at a time so please be patient. Wendy
