  1. I'm pleased to see the tank seam has gone and the detail under the cab is sorted. The EP pictures look absolutely wonderful and if this is the shape of things to come I'll be looking for an excuse to run a 71! Cheers. Sean.
  2. A very enjoyable afternoon "playing trains" Mike. Thanks for organising it. Cheers. Sean.

  9. Hi Down_Under. A good start to an interesting project here. Sadly, James has been banned from the site for around a year or so and so is unable to personally record his thanks here to you. It would not be "decent" of me to profer any opinion on this situation, however, James has asked me to publically record his thanks to you for your very kind comments with regards to his work and would like you, (and any other members considering similar conversions), to know that if you are having any difficulties with your project in the future he would be happy for you to contact him via his blog or indeed via a PM to me here. Cheers. Sean.
  10. Not to challenge is to collude.

  11. Hi all. In light of recent events elsewhere on the forum, I have decided not to post any more of my projects in this thread or on the forum. I have been asked to "Just walk away" and so before I do, I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you who have contributed to this thread and offered advice and support to my various projects. I will of course continue with my projects and sincerely hope to catch up with some or all of you in the future either in the virtual world of the internet or at various the various shows around the North. Thanks again. Cheers. Sean.
  12. I'm going to enjoy this one Chris. Have you considered the Replica Railways powered chassis. I have one under my 128 and am very happy with it. A good start on the model from the pictures shown. Cheers. Sean.
  13. The fluting on the side rods shows up really well there Barry where the weathering has worn off. It really highlights the fine detail. Cheers. Sean.
  14. If you're going to post progress Ian, please let us have a link etc. I have some that could do with improvement, but not knowing the prototype i side out, any advice from others is handy for me, (and others I'm sure). This thread has been really useful for me already. Cheers. Sean.
  15. Excellent. As a non steamy, my favourites are the standards and my first Hornby loco was a Jinty. Cheers. Sean.
  16. Happens to the best of us Dave and I know your frustration! Deep breath, count to ten, (maybe twice), and it'll all come good again. Cheers. Sean. Happens to the best of us Dave and I know your frustration! Deep breath, count to ten, (maybe twice), and it'll all come good again. Cheers. Sean.
  17. I can't thank you enough B Exam! If our paths ever cross, let me know and there'll be a couple of pints for you. Out of interest, (and if you can disclose), how did you know/find out the info? Thanks again. Sean.
  18. Hi all. Here's a challenge of sorts. I managed to find the picture I mentioned earlier in the thread of a pair of unidentified 20's at Scampston Crossing on the Scarborough to York line on a summer Saturday in 1984 or 1985, (although it could be 1986 or 1987 too?). I was on this train and it was the only time I got a pair of 20's in BR service. Problem is, I can't for the life of me recall which ones they were. Zooming in on the picture suggests the front one is possibly 20047, but not 100%. Can anyone help identify them? The only other thing I recall is the train was bound for the Midlands..... Cheers. Sean.
  19. I think it looks like a very nice model. Almost a shame I spent months hacking a B1/K3 combination up a few years ago. I'll be keeping my model though, but might bolster my allocation with one of these Hornby ones. Cheers. Sean.
  20. Camera phone used to "scan" these prints. I have some notes on the back of some of the prints, but others have no notes. I will edit accordingly with the details later, but anyone who has a better knowledge of the class is welcome to fill the gaps. 50 021 & 50 006, Waterloo. 09/08/86. 50 001, Waterloo. 11/04/88. 50 039, Birmingham International. 12/03/88. 50 040, 50 013, 50 047, Old Oak Common. 11/04/88 50 042, Old Oak Common. 11/04/88. 50 016, Waterloo. 11/04/88. 50 007, Old Oak Common. 11/04/88. 50 021, Birmingham New Street. 21/02/87. 21. Might be a bit crude Ron, but I've had some success with double sided sticky tape recently. You never know? Cheers. Sean.
