  1. Great to see someone modeling the Interstate! Any ideas on a particular branch, @DanielB, or are you just aiming for the feel and character?
  2. Had I the practical means to get it shipped overseas, I would take up the offer. Just found this thread, Mike, and what a superb layout you have created. I hope someone can provide a good home.
  3. Mortonhampstead's shed is certainly another gauntlet thrown down in the direction of North Wales. Will Iain counterpunch with his latest gem?
  4. Excellent, finally made it into MR. I shall have to get a copy!
  5. Mr. Robinson probably is laying out the styrene for a 7mm model of said house even at this moment.
  6. Just one now, Dave; the other is one the way to me! Thanks again!
  7. Thanks to everyone! I'd thought perhaps I'd inadvertently stumped the band, as we say here.
  8. Thanks for the lead, Brian. Much appreciated.
  9. After searching the Internet for hours, I'm coming up empty in my quest for a track plan of Oakamoor Sands Sidings. Does anyone have a source to which they can point me? Thanks!
  10. Other have already said so, but I feel compelled to anyway -- this thread has been thoroughly inspiring, entertaining and educational. Thank you, Allan and Iain!
  11. Penhydd will always be remembered fondly, Geoff. I only regret I never got to see the layout in person.
  12. With the house painted outside (except for one wall under the carport) and the rainy season finally here, I can relax tomorrow!

  13. And the master brings yet another comatose patient back to life! Just superb, Mick.
  14. Glad to have caught up with this topic! Inspiring stuff, Jamiel, and I'm looking forward to seeing the progress. That being said, I'd better get on with Ettinsmoor. The ground frame project has been put on hiatus, but only because I got wrapped up in revamping the station area while waiting for some suitable brass wire to arrive from a supplier. Pictures of the station area to come soon!
  15. Sickened at the damage done to St. Mary Hoo.

I read what you put up here yesterday, and am very sorry to what has happened to you layout.

  16. Gets my vote for Topic of the Year as well! Say, were I to attempt the same project here, the exchange rate as of today makes my budget $160.06! The better challenge, however, would be to keep it at $100.
  17. 92 degrees F (33C) outside; over 80 in the layout room upstairs with the A/C on and too hot to do any effective modeling! A rare scorcher in the Puget Sound region.

At least ours is a dry heat, Pete, even this close to the coast. I'm thankful for that!

  18. SQL Errors becoming tiresome!

  19. I do like the sense of place and time this layout evokes; it's gritty feel is very appealing. Well done.
  20. Two more nights in Kansas City, then home to the Pacific Northwest!

Seems like yesterday you were there last.

  21. Unless I've overlooked it while reading through 15 pages of comments and insight this morning, no one has specifically mentioned the lack of counterweights for either the 2mm or 4mm models. To me, the signal masts look naked without them. Yes, static counterweights could be attached, but part of the attraction for me of having working semaphores is watching the entire mechanism move. I intend this as an observation, not a knock on Dapol.
  22. Sitting in a class in Kansas City wishing I was back home!
