  1. Roast duck with all the trimmings and plum sauce went down well as did the homemade Christmas pud and brandy butter. Relaxed this afternoon after clearing up and ended up inspecting the eyelids for a couple of hours. A light snack this evening of fresh cheese scones and cinnamon biscuits. Time for a bottle of Old Speckled Hen.
  2. Morning all. Damp with fine drizzle but there are no plans to venture out today. For some reason I haven't been able to get into the Christmas spirit this year. Duck for a change instead of turkey. I just hope that I have the timings right. MY thoughts are again with Debs and her dad as well as other ER's ailing and missing. Time for another coffee. A Happy and Healthy Christmas to everyone
  3. I wish I had the time to have a dog. My lifestyle at the moment wouldn't allow me to give the dog enough time or exercise. Maybe one day but it would have to be a Welsh Border Collie.
  4. Of course you can mate. Would you like me to send the full size one? I'll look forward to seeing it.
  5. My hobbies and interests have changed over the years. I spent many years playing rugby, boxing, judo. tug-o-war, climbing and throwing myself out of perfectly serviceable aircraft. These days, real life and time have changed things. Like Jeff, I started with model railways only a few years ago however, my other interests are walking, military history and cooking. One hobby that I have always enjoyed is photography.
  6. John. Can you pass my thoughts on to Debs and her father.
  7. Morning all. For a change I slept far too well. The first batch of biscuits have been done but I suspect another will be done later. A relaxing day of modelling and general pottering around is planned. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  8. A retro evening of listening to Blue Oyster Cult, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Rush, Kansas, Toto, Golden Earing and a few others while modelling. Tomorrow sees me making more cinnamon biscuits as for some reason they've disappeared along with some more modelling. I could get used to this. Night all
  9. Simon - You have my sincerest sympathies
  10. 200 miles and four stops later I've managed to return home unscathed. Many hundreds of cock/henwombles were encountered but one really impressed me. Driving on the motorway with only the windscreen and the small bit of the drivers door window so that he could see the mirror were clear. The rest was pure condensation. Time for a coffee followed by some modelling.
  11. Morning all. Not a brilliant nights sleep which doesn't set me up well for the day. Today I will be delivering various presents to several members of the family and collecting others along the way. I'm hoping that the cockwombles stay at home until I'm finished. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  12. All the shopping until the middle of next week has been done including the local paper. My afternoon of modelling was replaced with an afternoon of making cinnamon biscuits. The house does smell good. Maybe some modelling this evening.
  13. It seems that another item is on the shopping list for today, the local paper. The delivery was handed over to a new contractor when the chain of paper shops closed. So far we have had one local paper in the last six weeks. Each time it has failed to be delivered, a phone call has been made and they've agreed not to include it in the bill. However, today was slightly different. I was informed that they haven't got a supplier for the local paper. Why the feck couldn't they have told me six weeks ago.
  14. Morning all. An excellent nights sleep for a change. A day of sorting out a few last minute items including some more wrapping paper. I've been tasked with delivering presents to the extended family tomorrow. deep joy. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  15. I was early for my appointment this morning due to a lack of traffic. The survey has been completed and the quote already submitted so now I have to wait and see. Far to many cockwombles on the road that either don't know the width of their car and need 2 lanes for it or driving in the outside lane of the motorway at 55mph while the world undertakes then. Time for a coffee and eyelid inspection.
  16. Morning all. Another terrible nights sleep which definitely hasn't set me up for the day ahead. I'm hoping that the survey and quote this morning go to plan so that I can get back to some modelling. Time for a coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  17. My evening has been spent designing a website. Some things I'm not prepared to leave to others. Tomorrow is an early start to see a client to quote for some new work. I was hoping to let all of this happen after the holiday. Simon - My thoughts are with you and the family. I hope that you can enjoy the celebrations. Night all
  18. Back from town and my present finding adventure ended in failure. Something different has now been procured. At least there was plenty of room on both trains but both tan late and I also heard announcements that some had been cancelled. What a surprise. Time for a coffee
  19. Morning all. Late on parade thanks to a terrible nights sleep. At least it doesn't matter about the time that I travel into town. Chris & John - Enjoy the trip. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  20. A trip up into town is planned for the morning in the hope of obtaining a specific present. It looks like I'll be throwing myself at the mercy of southern failways. Night all
  21. A decent meeting with the potential new client but the decision won't be made until mid January. The forecast fog was nowhere to be seen which made the journey a lot easier. My pet hate of the day is van drivers who can't hear when you try to attract their attention using the horn when they are cutting you up on the motorway. The reason they can't gear, the f*****g earphones presumably pumping out loud music. Time for a coffee and eyelid inspection.
