  1. Hi ajdown. I will post a plan here soon. Thanks Alex, I thought I saw your arm waving out the front window. Hi James, Thanks for your encouragement in helping me to go a step further with the model. I am pleased with how it looks now, though I think a picture in natural light would look better. Cheers Peter,
  2. Hi, I do like the Crab, used to see them at Eastleigh all the time. They were quite common on the Meldon ballast trains. I would love to have a go at one, but can't really justify one on my layout. Cheers Peter,
  3. Hi Claggy, Here is a pic of 37188 at Queen Street about to depart (take off) to Perth on the 1L39 18.03 FSX to Perth. The train was booked a class 27. There was also a 27 booked train from Edinburgh to Perth 1L35 dep 11.23 the same loco was booked to work 1T24 13.50 Perth Glasgow Q.S. Hope that helps. Cheers Peter,
  4. Cheque's in the mail bro. Cheers Peter,
  5. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas on 37693, and no worries re hijacking the thread it all helps anyone reading the thread. I have had a bit of a play with 37693 and I am now really pleased with how it has turned out. I am a bit worried if I add any more weathering I will no longer have an ex-works loco. I have added a bit of muck around the exhust ports roof fan and in the cantrail grilles. The nose grilles have had a bit of black mixed with brown and the foot holes under the doors and other recesses along the bottom edge of the loco have had a bit of work. The bogies have had just a bit of light weathering with a hint of track colour and brake dust. After looking at a few pictures I noticed even after a couple of test runs the bogies would soon get a build up of muck, I may still add a bit as I am not sure it shows up to well in the pictures. So here is 37693 paired with 33026 on the return working back to Crewe. Cheers Peter,
  6. Thanks Larry, There is a nice pic of 37431 leaving Flint in your 'Colour of North Wales main line' book The timetable I have done for the layout has a train arriving from Cardiff at 16.00 which is booked for a class 33, but on Fridays I have it booked for a 37/4 . I could do as you said though and extend the Rhyl service I will have to see if I have room in my time table, nice idea. Cheers Peter,
  7. Hi Pugsley, I like the the marks where the double arrows have deen removed ,nice touch. I was just thinking the other day about a board I could lay some track on, it would allow me to take pics outside, my other option is to knock some holes in the garage wall. Cheers Peter,
  8. Nice pics Keith, I think you should rename the thread, class 37 renumbering nightmare. Cheers Peter.
  9. Hi Brian, I am loving that class 26, 20009 is interesting, I am planning on doing a 4mm model that number as it had oval buffers until withdrawn. Cheers Peter,
  10. Thanks for the comments and feedback everyone, It seems James has made a good point, I am quite happy with the finish on the model though as 37114 said a bit of weathering around the exhust ports would improve things,I think if I sprayed the model to a Matt that would also look wrong, as would gloss which as Bernard said ex-works locos are painted in. See the pic of the real loco on my brothers 'class 37 nose ends' thread page 2. As Dave said any thoughts are welcome. Anyway here are a couple more pics. Cheers Peter,
  11. Thanks James, I will have a look at doing that bogie mod, my only concern is will the super glue have enough plastic to bond to. I like the idea of moving the frames up as there is a bit of a gap. It would seem that you have started some debate about the finish on the loco. Cheers Peter,
  12. Thanks Jim, I am quite happy with how the track and ballast looks, though it is code 100 it does fool a few people. Cheers Peter,
  13. Hi Mark, Progress by 01 Jan 2010, Is that a challenge, I will see what I can do. Cheers Peter,
  14. Thanks Phill, Glad you found me, and like the thread. I will be following your blog, I am looking forwards to seeing that 47 in action. Cheers Peter,
  15. Here are a couple of pics hope they are of some use. Cheers Peter,
  16. Hi Jeff, Thanks mate, Hopefully see you in a couple of weeks. Have you started the new layout yet? I meant to ask you the other week. Cheers Peter,
  17. Hi Alex, Looks like I will be seeing Grimley sooner than I thought. Great to see you on here mate love those HAAs and 56s. Cheers Peter,
  18. Thanks everyone, Paul, the Scottish 47s are a bit of a favourite I am planning on doing 47550 at some point, though both wont be seen together as you can't have to many Scottish 47s on the North Wales coast. Mark, Just stop it. Hopefully next year I will get a bit more done, I think I have settled on a plan now, and I am trying to save up for a Heljan 37 though can't wait to see what the 20s going to be like. Keith, thanks, I did take a pic but its almost head on and I was trying to get a more side on view. Jeff, Not anymore I sold the sound chip thingy bit to Simon. I was tempted to keep it but the 37 will only be used now and then. Though I am thinking of getting a Bachmann class 25095, Simons sounded great and I think I can run it on my layout, but will have to see you about changing the thing that you do for DC. As you can see I really know what I am talking about when it comes to DCC. forest2807, Thanks, it took me a while to get used to things, and thankfully Andy has given us the layout thread section back. Cheers Peter,
  19. Hi Dave, Glad you found me, I took me a while to get used to things on here and I am still learning. I am sticking with the thread for a while and might have a go at doing a blog latter. Hopefully we will see your layout on here soon I am sure you will have a few more locos bye now. Cheere Peter, I am not really happy with that last pic so I will do a better one.
  20. Hi Mike, Fantastic, 33006 looks spot on, whats next. Cheers Peter,
  21. Thanks Keith, My Lima class 47s are on borrowed time as I am going to replace them with Bachmann ones. I will probably keep a couple but the rest will be sold, my untouched locos went a while ago. The lastest loco to enter service on Llanbourne is 37693. I have modelled the loco in ex works condition and will use it paired with a class 33 or 47. I was going to change the number but found out that 37693 worked with 33026 on one of its test runs, as I have 33026 I decided to leave it as 693. I haven't had to do much work on the model just change the buffers to something a bit more sturdy add speedo cable, and pipework. I repainted the red bufferbeams added some white by the brake cylinders and changed the orange line to run along the top of the cabs. I also opened one window a bit and added a driver. I will eventually narrow down the bogies as they look a bit wide about 2mm. Cheers Peter,
  22. Thats the one, thanks mate. Cheers Peter,
  23. Great thread this Keith, there are some interesting variations. Here is 37109 & 37198 at Woking 109 is in a spot of bother, check out the front set of wheels. Oh variation being black headcode boxes. Another split box loco 37026 at Andover. Cheers Peter,
  24. Hi Claggy, I like the pic of 37404, but my favourite from the old site was a 37/4 comming round the edge of the river on a couple of MK1s. Cheers Peter,
