  1. Thanks Dave, Nice to hear from you. As i said to Rick my inter city rakes get changed about a bit so the alternating liveries in that set might nit last for long. Coach liveries wouldn't have mattered when forming the train, though consist did. From pics i have seen the Euston services normally had two or three first then a buffet then opens then a brake at the Holyhead end of the train. The depot making up the formation would only worry about getting the rigjt coaches in the train and liveries wouldn't matter. Cheers Peter.
  2. Thats Rick, the mid 80s was good for variery in liveries. My rakes change abit to form different trains so they get muzed up a fair bit. The last two coaches are blue grey so it not quite alternating all the way through.
  3. So sorry to hear this Nigel. Sending my best wishes to you and your family.
  4. 47636 is ready to depart platform 3 with a Llanbourne- Euston service. 25224 is heading to Carnforth with a loaded ballast.
  5. Just a few pics from a running session the other day. A chester bound local passes the carriage siding while 31319 waits to leave the yard. 47418 heads to holyhead. The first three coaches are recent additions to the Inter city fleet.
  6. Thanks Jeff, Pictures of me isn't going to make people want to read the article.🤣🤣
  7. Thanks mate, I am building a 7mm layout Holmes Road. Thread in the 7mm section. Similar time frame but based in Scotland. I think about rebuilding or starting again in 4mm but but just dont have the time really. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks Doug, i will have to check the newsagents and find a copy or two. I can sign them and make a profit.🤣🤣🤣

  11. Thanks mate, things certainly aren't what they used to be. I think they call it progress.🤣 Cheers Peter.
  12. Merry Christmas everyone, thanks for all the likes and comments this year. There has been some progress on the layout this year but not as much as I would have liked. It's the same most years to be honest. It was also great to have the layout in print again too Hornby magazine did a great job.
  13. Thanks Steve, I didn't see them. they would be ideal. Might add some to my next order. Cheers Peter.
  14. Yeah just had a look for them. That's a Shame it was a useful set of transfers. I did have a look at Railtec and it doesn't look they do any. But it could be worth getting in touch. Cheers Peter.
  15. For my 108 and 101 headcodes I used modelmaster transfers they do a set for midland DMUs. It's been a while since I bought some so hopefully they are still available. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Andy, Thank you for those kind words. I am pleased you liked the article and that Llanbourne serves as some inspiration for you own layout which from what I have seen is getting better every day the new Brick arches certainly are bringing the layout together. Cheers Peter
  17. A few more pics from a recent running session. The 142 which I remotored a few years back could only just pull itself but I added a big lump of weight in the roof and it can now haul the dummy unit. 25313 works a Trans Pennine service to Bangor due to a shortage of class 45/1s mainly due to the fact I sent my Heljan class 45 back.
  18. Hi Rich, I can draw one up as it has changed since it posted it all those years ago. Cheers Peter.
  19. Thanks Rob, I think it's come up quite well. Cheers Peter.
  20. Thanks Nigel, I have been getting some good feedback. Cheers Peter.
  21. Thanks Will, That class 31is a bit of a favourite so it gets used a fair bit. Not bad for an old Lima although running with Hornby bogies and drive. Cheers Peter
  22. The layout is looking great Ian. Mr Navard can take a decent pic too. Cheers Peter.
  23. I have finished the CAR brake van and another VEA. Plus a but more now done in the class 37.
  24. A couple more pics. 31319 arrives on a loaded ballast. 47445 Heads an Inter city working to Holyhead.
