  1. Re the email re our recent flight…..As the current Monkeypox rate for Europe is something like 0.6% I don’t think I’ll worry to much about sharing a plane with a victim of it. I think the UK is even less? Fractions of a percentage… I'm more at risk on my motorcycle…. Now where’s those bananananas… Mind you with the cost of fuel as it is…… it’s steady as it goes lol
  2. Greetings one and all. Monkeypox! Just had an a message from EasyJet to say a passenger on our flight back from GC now has Monkeypox. Cant say I’m bothered, tho I have instructed Mrs BR to get a good supply of bananananas in just incase. It does seem tho, just like Covid, we have an outbreak of national panic. I’ve no idea what the current Covid/ Monkeypox status is, nor do I really care if I’m honest, I’ve done everything that’s been asked ….over and above, including working throughout including dealing with people who have had it at the time etc. Chris….. enjoy Pride, give it yer all. Kiss, hug, cheer, sing, stomp, march or whatever. Im off to burn not me bra (!) but a quantity of masks as I’m liberatedddddddd!
  3. Say 76 and you could get away with the road vehicles as well 😀
  4. What an inspirational human being……. "to find a life worth enjoying; take risks; love deeply; have no regrets; and always, always have rebellious hope. And finally, check your poo – it could just save your life". Sound advice. Life is for living……we ain’t coming back for round two.
  5. They were indeed station buildings….and can be ‘tarted up a bit’ with the addition of awnings, new chimneys etc. The station on p480 is actually 2 separate buildings….I think it was a station building and booking hall….. I have used them myself, suitably adapted. They were part of the Skaledale Magna range….. I think. R9531 for starters.
  6. Sending Condolences to Dave.
  7. Rum….. Woods with a splash of…..blackcurrant and lots of ice. Probably sacrilege…. But who cares ;-)
  8. Chris, you can try Googling his name and city etc. Its surprisingly easy to find information ( and a little scary too, especially if you Google yourself). You might well find he is alive and well, or sadly find an obituary as I have done when trying to find old comrades.
  9. Blue skies, wall to wall sunshine and ….…ice cold beer. Well we are in Gran Canaria! Olé nite all. Stay safe.
  10. Greetings one and all from a showery Kernow…….I’ve been learning German, about an hour a day for the last 8 months. It started because I love schlager musik, always have done and listen to Radio Heimat DE on my phone most of the time. Great whilst modelling. Plenty of Germans on a recent holiday ..who were delighted to hear me ‘having a go’ and helped no end. Speak to me like a small child says I, and lo we managed to converse! What impressed them was that someone from the UK was not only bothering to try and learn German, but was actually trying to speak it as well. We are back to GC soon, where I’ll be practicing again. Mein Deutsch ist. es gut, aber ich versuche es gerne….. eines Tages werde ich es sprechen und Schlager singen wie ein Tiroler! und alles Gute zum Geburtstag Flavio!
  11. I had 3 CB900f2’s…. The Bol D’or model with the fairing etc, 2 red and white and 1 grey and white. Wish I still had all 3!
  12. Thank you all! Great day so far and not got round to the main event yet so posting whilst I still can! Amazing cake….. bike, boobs and buns, what a combo! Super Indian restaurant in a bit, then local for a few, 60’s not so bad after all…..
  13. Greetings one and all from a bright and sunny Kernow. Not sure who this Liz Windor is, but she is certainly casting a shadow on my 60th birthday celebrations:) Lots of neighbours have got flags and bunting out, how kind! Have a great Jubilee weekend everyone!
  14. Reality has just set in….. in a matter of hours I will be 60! Asking myself how the F*@£&*@ hell that happened!? Still the alternative isn’t worth considering, and when alls said and done it’s been a bit of a blast!
  15. TS185, blue, TS250, yellow, then later a FT500 in red, which wasn’t a bad bike despite some poor reviews. I managed to chew through both a plug and piston by ‘tuning’ the bike, had to push it 4 miles home and repair it myself…. Happy days.
  16. Greetings one and all from a bit of an overcast Kernow. Away for a few days to celebrate my impending 60th…. Apparently some woman called Liz also has a significant day that same day so I’ve given the nation an extended holiday so they can join me in celebration of me 60th! Interesting actually ‘holidaying’ in Cornwall, can see now why it’s mainly Londoners who weekend here…..they are the only ones who can afford Kernows prices! Take care one and all.
  17. Greetings one and all from an overcast Duchy. Sending best wishes to iD and Pete, I can’t face having another dog and having to say goodbye again. Great day yesterday, managed a good 6 mile kayak up the Estuary, first this year, then 60 or so miles on the bike so Mrs BR could see the last of the bluebells, and there were many. Even managed to fit in a 3 mile walk around the nearby nature reserve followed by a couple of cold beers sat in the sun in the locals beer garden. So good to see many out in the sunshine, they are very family orientated Pub, so the play area was full of happy kids having fun. Our children and grandchildren have suffered greatly over the last two years, great to see them doing what kids do best, having fun laughing, playing and just enjoying themselves. Still, for those who enjoy such things, there’s now Monkeypox to be worried about tho I can’t say I’m worried at all…..Gran Canaria again in 3 weeks which may, or maybe not the epicentre. Am I bovvered? No, bring on that cold beer and sunshine! Take care everyone.
  18. We are a relatively new club ( been up and running for almost a year) and seeking new members at any level of experience. We currently have the boards sorted for our club layout and are looking to expand the membership. Presently meeting once a month ( formally) and as and when required. Please message me for further info.
  19. Ahhhh… so thats what a certain MP was looking for…
  20. Greetings one and all. Not been the best of weeks, heard the very sad news that former crew mate and Falklands vet had died of a heart attack on Sunday. We rode our bikes often, and many happy memories especially our last jaunt to France and Spain. He was just 61. Then yesterday, another mate, Army vet, many deployments, just 50 had a massive heart attack and didn’t make it. Married, with 2 beautiful young children. My thoughts are with them and their families. We all know growing old is a privilege but it hits home doesn’t it. Well, suns going to be out, so off to Boood with a few former biker plod mates to celebrate the life of Ian, in the way he would have wanted……. Blasting the A39, as we so often did. Stay safe and get out there and enjoy life.
  21. I wore a pair of foundry boots, each boot made from half a cow and Sheffield steel. Probably still going strong somewhere…… Anyone remember Bellstaff unlined one piece nylon suits? I used to pour the sweat out of my boots!
  22. Greetings one and all……. Home at 0400, despite the doom mongers, airports etc all went very smoothly with NO delays anywhere. The ‘modern’ way ( electronic) of dealing with passports is anything but, and it seems a number of people are now employed to show just about everyone how to use the machine! Good to be home, next flights booked, good…… as it’s grey and drizzly here. Still live music to look forward too…… should be a good crowd and be good to catch up. Cheers me ansums, tiz a good day for us Pagan Celts.
  23. Greetings one and all from a scorching GC. How is it packing to go home is always much quicker than packing to go away? As always LOTS of unworn stuff, mine as per usual as Mrs BR likes to point out. Mainly shirts of a certain nature…… those who know, know. Have a good day all.
