  1. Thank you Martyn and you are probably right but I have only had it a week and it is brand new so I think I will return it. I am keeping an eye on ‘Church Norton’ and it is coming along nicely, I am very impressed.
  2. Thank you both. I purchased it from Antics and I am sure there would be no trouble returning it for a full refund or a replacement. I was just hoping that there may be a simple solution without returning it because that is the last one in that livery.
  3. I have just bought a new sound fitted Terrier from the first batch (⌗2644 in Southern livery) and I have a problem with the running and I will try and explain what I mean. If I start off at slow speed it stops just about every revolution of the wheels and sometimes there is a slight buzzing from the motor or speaker and sometimes not. If I turn up to half speed or so it will run but when I reverse it stops again. If I do get it to run in reverse it seems to lurch along as though it has a tight spot. I did notice that sometimes it rocks on the centre axle and if I put it in my ‘maintenance’ cradle one wheel on the centre axle has reasonable up and down movement but the other side not so much! As I say, it is new so I don’t want to tinker just in case I need to send it back. I have another Terrier and it runs fine, as does my Peckett and my kit-built locos so I would say there is no problem with the track or controller. (NCE Power cab) Has anyone else had a problem like this?
  4. Thank you for your response. I am using Apple so I will try that update later today. I had a few minutes spare so I took the opportunity to update Adobe and I have my picture back, so thanks again. Willy
  5. Is anyone else getting this bank screen? It has been like this for the past couple of days! Willy
  6. Thank you both. I though it was going to be like yesterday when I missed a train of UP passenger cars go by behind a train of double-stacks that was stopped across the crossing. I could just catch a glimpse of the yellow cars between the containers but not enough to see what they were. Willy
  7. I have never seen anything like these before but I assume they are new coal hoppers but who owns them and where do they normally run? They were part of a complete train of the same cars but I just caught the tail end because it was mostly hidden by a double stack. Willy
  8. Has anyone considered repainting one in GWR livery or would it involve a lot of extra modification? Willy
  9. Chris, Chris, This philosophy is commendable and I would like to think that most people are more than willing to share their knowledge and skills with others. Willy
  10. Many thanks for your offer John but I already have a sheet of HMRS transfers which will be adequate for this project. However, for future reference I will keep a link to your website. Willy
  11. Chris As I said, I purchased this wagon without instructions and, as I am not a GWR or Ex GWR expert, I had nothing to go on as far as livery was concerned, so your link to the instructions was a great help. I know you understood what I wanted because of this and the other link you posted and indeed you were taken to task yourself for that help. Anyway as a result of your help I know what I am going to do now so I will get on with it this coming weekend. Thank you again. Willy
  12. My heading may have been ambiguous but under "Topic Description" I entered "Placing of running number, etc, in BR days" and in my first post I said "GWR Loriot M Diagram G14 Machinery Wagon from the Connoisseur range which I have painted in BR grey" so I thought my request was clear enough. However to some I seem to have not been perfectly correct so I must think more carefully before posting in future. Incidentally, I wasn’t aware that this wagon was called LOMAC in BR days so I could not have mentioned it in my heading so I take issue with your criticism on this point. You have to remember that not everyone is an expert like yourself and hence the need for topics and requests such as this. Willy.
  13. Morning all! What I meant Nick is that I have painted it more or less the same as Steve's in post #11 in this thread. That is BR grey side curb rail and black sideframes. I had already painted the black patches for the number, etc. when I realised that I wasn't sure of the correct placement. Willy
  14. Oh dear, a can of worms I think! As has been said here and on many previous occasions, it is my train set and I can do as I please but I would like to get it as near to correct as I possibly can although at this distance in time that may prove more difficult than I first thought. Anyway, it is late now so I am off to bed and the Loriot/Lowmac can wait for another day and in the event that no photographic evidence turns up, I will follow Big Jim’s instructions and hope for the best. Thank you all again for your contributions Willy.
  15. Thank you Chris, that will do nicely. I bought this wagon without instructions and I wasn't aware that they were available on line!! Willy
  16. Thank you Kenton but unfortunately I don't have a copy. :-( Willy
  17. I have a 7mm GWR Loriot M Diagram G14 Machinery Wagon from the Connoisseur range which I have painted in BR grey. However I have no idea where to place the running number and other insignia so can someone please tell me where these go or point me in the direction of a good photograph or diagram, etc. which will help. Thank you. Willy
  18. He must be on holiday in France this week because he was under my bench yesterday and he had a couple of small bits from the end of my 7mm Parkside Mogo so I will be glad when you have him back! Willy
  19. I would just like to say “thank you†to the likes of Roman, ewsjo and br2975, along with many others, for their generosity in sharing such great photos with us on this thread. Not being in a position to witness these “last days†for myself I especially appreciate them and it will be sad not to see the “tugs†on my occasional visit to the UK. Thank you all. Willy
  20. You are right about the postage and I think hard about it each time but I get such a good service that I feel it is worth it especially when I order around 10 sheets. Willy
  21. I replied to that post F-Unit but it would appear that the site went down before you read it so here goes again! Anyway, all I said was why not try Microscale direct? http://www.microscal...tegory_Code=SOO They are perfectly happy to supply small orders because I have ordered as little as 3 sheets from them. There is a very efficient lady called Rachel who deals with orders so you could contact her at their inquiry address and see what she says: info@microscale.com Cheers Willy
  22. I am sure I can fit it all in Jack if I tighten up on the curve under the two over bridges by the Montgomery Liqor warehouse. I had envisaged 3’ but I can cut that down to 30” or perhaps even less and hope the bridges disguise it! Willy
