  1. And they've still got the tea stain from the window that's from all the years of mashing up by my father 😆
  2. I think we all knew it was only matter of time I'm truly saddened by the passing of my former boss. I have that numb feeling like a member of our family is no longer with us. So I shall have a glass of port tonight. Certa Cito
  3. A quick snap of the GBRf staff jolly departing from Birmingham New St on Saturday morning heading for Paignton.
  4. When I lived in Carlisle in the mid 90's I used to go fishing underneath that viaduct and often walking around that area. Fantastic pictures as ever Jim. Cheers Colin
  5. Took the decision today to mothball the layout and place it into storage in the loft, I'll be keeping the fiddleyard and the trestles along with a spare blank baseboard that's about 3ft long and maybe build a small diorama as a photo plank until the layout bug comes back. So until then I'll be concentrating on building various wagon kits and detailing projects that should keep me occupied. Cheers Colin
  6. Well a its been so long since an update on the layout I thought I should pull my finger out and upload two pics of the current status of the layout. Both pics show the scenic boards all set up on trestles with fiddleyard attached but out of shot. Here's the thing I've hit a bit of wall since coming back from the DEMU show. And to be honest I'm a bit bored with the layout itself so I'm in two minds to either scrap the layout completely and salvage what I can for a future project or in fact sell the layout as it stands minus the NCE powercab. Cheers Colin
  7. A couple pics from this afternoon with 50007 and 049 running from Leicester as 0Z51to Coventry North Yard to stable overnight. The only reason I believe is because the GBRF driver lives in Coventry and I presume they'll be returning to Kidderminster SVR on Tuesday morning around 8am. Cheers Colin
  8. The guard only announced the alteration as we come out of Kilsby tunnel. Typical of our control leaving it to the last minute to inform the poor guard as she was getting some stick from the punters. I believe it was expressed due to the late inward driver from Crewe.
  9. It was good to see you at Rugby earlier and you had the train to yourself to Crewe. Cheers Colin
  10. All I will say on this post is be careful there is no actual shop for this store just a phone number. As soon as I saw this post the alarms began ringing as I've heard nothing but horror stories of people being ripped off as they never have any items in stock and people not actually receiving there items. Please be careful before ordering.
  11. That's a quality name on the bridge itself seen as its my surname. Also I drive over that bridge most days as its on the way into Selly Oak Station on the cross city. Cheers Colin
  12. It's 323221 it's a real pig of a unit normally has a traction converter out sort of like driving a unit on half power it's normally coupled to another unit to compensate. But that might have changed as I've been on leave for the past 2 weeks. Great pics as ever Jim
  13. Same here brings back some good memories going into Three spires signalbox before it was vandalised and burnt down. And watching the T42 trip going into the homefire plant.
  14. Just a couple of pics from today's work on the pair of 25's for the layout. And a heavily weathered Bachmann 37 detailed and renumbered to 37227.
  15. Thank you for the input that idea has some serious potential I'm going to have a look an measure a few things up maybe swap a few points around in the fidleyard and see if it's possible. The idea of a 121/122 bubble car doing a Stourbridge shuttle type of thing has been tried and it looks good as I've just weathered and DCC'd a Dapol 121 for this purpose.
  16. I've edited the title now and dropped the Scottish theme and I'm sticking to what I grew up with. I'm looking at opening up the other end of the layout with a traverser so I can run through short freight and engineers trains. Cheers Colin
  17. Well after what seems like an absolute age here's an update on my small BR Blue layout. The wiring is 99% complete just the yard and platform lighting to install. The scenics are getting there I'm not sure what to put on the small clear section opposite the platform I was thinking that a small section of a bus depot as my Rapido trains fleetline in Wmpte livery would look good. Anyway hoping to do a bit more on the station buildings this week and possibly upload a video of some shunting. Cheers Colin
  18. I thought that was you on the platform taking a pic as I passed by with a pair of 350's heading south to Northampton.
  19. Just a couple this morning, firstly I was booked pass on the 0533 empties from Coventry to New St then a taxi to the delightful Soho LMD. Collecting 323218 (5U54) Soho LMD to New St. Followed by two trips to Walsall and a Birmingham International shuttle and finally a trip to Northampton and back to Coventry.

Well, your gold badge is currently still being displayed so you should be able to access the "Gold Only" areas of the forum to check.  I'm a Gold Member too, but I got AY Mod to hide the badge as I wasn't keen on flaunting it at the time...

It's all sorted now my rmweb and world of railways accounts became unsynchronised for some odd reason.

  21. I'm really looking forward to be part of the operating team on this great layout again.
  22. The small single storey building almost next to timber yard is I believe the original Midland railway station building.
  23. With the site being a bit slow the last few days here's a few pics from my wanderings at work. Firstly here is 37418,86259 and a DB class 90 stabled in the old carriage sidings at Rugby.
