  3. Thanks Colin - and also everyone else who dropped by to say hello - Crepello, Ian Lister, Mike Brown, Mike Connor, Mark Alden, Kevin Tregunna, Br Blue to name but a few, apologies to anyone I may have missed. Layout ran very well - the odd glitch to start with, and the odd item of rogue stock but soon sorted James and Pierre are a great crew too .... Many kind comments made - and yes it was packed on Saturday! Phil
  4. Just back from 3 day course in Leeds and getting all fired up for Great Electric Train show - set up tonight, Jimbo and Pierre good to go too.... If it aint done this morning it aint getting done!!! Hope the layout runs as well as last weekend - apart from the rouge BG at the head of 1M22 that is. Phil
  5. Cheers Colin The good news is that was a straight running sequence - hope the layout behaves as well next weekend Phil That's 43's for you! Phil
  6. Pah - that was tempting fate! Of the 3 only 1 would run to exhibition standards - theres a video on youtube https://youtu.be/_vlmOzGiTOg So its back in to Churchdown works for traditional pick ups to be fitted, did that to the latest 40s and it cured their erratic running so should work on these too.... Phil
  7. Brilliant shot of Newton Chamber car carriers Dave.... Send that to Bachmann would you please? Phil
  8. How about tonight matey.... https://youtu.be/_vlmOzGiTOg Still loading, should be along in about 30 minutes - its just a shortie today... Phil
  9. Hear them you will - sounds chips just installed in all 3, its a doddle with Bacchy's speaker system Please come and say hello! Phil
  10. Cotswold line used to put 7 coach trains in to 2-3 coach platforms at places like Finstock Clive Guard always checked to ensure passengers alighting at the said station(s) were in the correct coach Phil
  11. Cheers Andrew Would like to think we've moved on a bit since then but very grateful to Andy Y for the invite to that do which got us on to the circuit... Please come and say hello again... Phil
  12. And heres a couple of stills... PS Didn't notice the waffle - SWMBO says what else would you expect? Hee hee Phil
  13. This was the ambient light by the time we finished tonight! Sprightly is in there somewhere - see the Bachmann 43 thread for a clearer shot... Phil
  14. Layout up in garden this evening - fastest ever, 1hr 15 mins from starting to first train running and all spot on..... Looking good for Great Electric Train Show - and North British Warships 843/4/5 out on test tomorrow, may even have to do a video..... Phil
  15. Set the layout up today and initial impressions are that running will be absolutely fine - more to come tomorrow.... Phil
  16. Don't lose sight of the fact that 42 is from a body moulding first available in the late 1970s! Mechanism was suspect until Bachmann put it on to a new chassis The 43 is superior in many - but not all - ways Phil
  17. Cheers Brian - afraid my welsh doesn't go much past sewin, coch-y-bonddu, diawl bach and haul a gwynt! Phil
  18. I am glad you spelt those brian....!
  19. OK - IIRC that's a Noahs Ark brake van that worked off Pontypool Rd so this is one of the Eastern Valley collieries But my brain has gone dead as to which one.... Phil
