Doc said left lung quite noisy, right one not so bad. Oxy test showed 99% and I'm now on much stronger A/Bs as he's pretty sure its bacterial rather than a virus. Chest X-ray booked on Monday too. Must be feeling a little better as I'm contemplating some modelling tonight...

      Thanks for concern, much appreciated!

Cheers. I'd raise a glass in thanks when I get home but I'm still on the meds. There's a bottle of Old Pultney malt in the cupboard which I'll get tucked into in a couple of days.

  11. my head is still recovering from attempting to sleep on the Night Riviera from Penzance last friday. FGW must specially select their roughest wheelsets for fitting under their mk3 sleepers...dbdbdbdbdb....

5 pints of Cornish Crown Stout was a good start...

Nowt wrong with the bogies on Mk3s IF they keep the wheel flats machined off and look after the bearings...

  12. after visiting The Crown (top pub in penzance) is now having a night cap on the night Riviera. Very nice.e

  13. Just leafed through the free copy of the Beano that came free in a newspaper today. Apart from being far more believable than the paper in which it arrived the words "fart" and "bum" seem to have crept in since I last purchased a copy ...which was when adverts started appearing in it. Harumph etc.....

I'm so glad I'm on shiftwork! I go through there twice a day but only during the quiet periods. The odd times I go through at 0830, I have to allow about 60 mins to do a 12 mile journey...Once this lot's done, Hutbers Law will apply....

  16. is wondering why finishing off the last 10% of a model takes twice as long as building the first 90% of it..

  17. Weird day today. Turned up for work 0600 to find out I actually had got the day off I applied for, returned home to discover someone had nicked my house name plate. Either tatters or someone thought it actually was a real totem. Been struggling with a difficult model all day and now my stepdaughter and her mother have just had a pointless row over the usual nothing so everyones in a bit of a grump. Telford had better be good tomorrow....

have you tried varnish to attach windows or the stuff that aero modellers use for their cockpit canopy.

    2. Jon Fitness

      Jon Fitness

I've tried canopy glue in the past but it's basically PVA and lets go too easily. Varnish...not tried. Being honest, the window that dropped out was my fault. Clumsy fitting of a windscreen wiper. All sorted now.

  19. chuffin class 24 cab glazing!!! Just nibbed up everything and one piece has come loose. (currently resting on the drivers 'ed) got to take it all apart to put it back. Managed to superglue it in first time with no marks. Bet it'll be a right mess now!! RRRRRRR!!!!

  20. JLTRT class 24 nearing completion..

  21. It's those little hidden details that you can't quite see but you know should be there..I get immense please from....well, leaving them off and getting on with something else actually. #can'tbearsedwiththetwiddlybits.
