  1. thinks that January will be spent making up new&improved 7mm scale signalling bits masters for whitemetal casting...

  2. is just waiting for the last units to go on shed...come on Alstom PYFFO...

  3. RIP my beloved Parkray back boiler. Withdrawn yesterday with a cracked and leaking boiler it has steamed for the last time. Now, whether to replace it like for like or find something completely different to replace it. Chuffin expensive whatever I choose especially as there's no mains gas nearby.

It's electric at the moment. One oil filled radiator is heating the entire bungalow...from knee level upwards...hope the engineer I rung is a boilermaker...and actually turns up to have a look.

Which 5 is this? Grand sounding whistle though, but it needs to be on something bigger and dare I say more impressive than a Hiker.

  6. Nice day today..Warley, sat with Steve Hewitt and talked signals, sat and learnt how to use a resistance soldering iron, did a bit of rivet punching on Jamie's gGreen Ayre stand, picked up some commisioned signal gantry etches and managed to escape without wounding the bank balance too badly. Got home to find my Locomotion L&Y radial tank had been delivered. Only spoiler was not making it to 'spoons for a pint with some RMWebbers coz of having to dash back for nightshift...

  21. Thought I'd made a complete blx of a nearly complete model signal last. Guess who tested his LEDs with 9v instead of 3v? Thought I'd damaged the internal wiring until I realised I hadn't soldered my usual 1k resistor in line. Cue small pop/crackle noise, much swearing and a very delicate operation of LED swapping..Wot a pil****.
