The first Cavalex class 56 on the bench. I have to say I'm impressed with the level of thought and engineering that has gone into this product. Some very nice touches.

All 'of the' howlers.

Not at all. The lighting options being offered on this model are quite frankly staggering for an out of the box rtr locomotive. New developments and technology upgrades take time....it will only be a short period before an appropriately programmed decoder is available off the shelf, or as others have said, Cavalex list the auxiliary output options so you can either program them yourself, or someone can do it for you. Patience is a virtue.

Does it come in a twin pack with Robin? 😆

Looking at that prototype roof picture, they may well be spaced off the roof, but I can't see it. And that earlier Loadhaul model image looks as though there is a 'space' of a good 4 or 5 scale inches, that is simply not correct. And regarding the roof colour, I'm not judging from a photograph, I'm judging from experience of the real thing in all conditions, weathered, ex works, and everything in between. Congragulations on an excellent model, it's just a shame a few of the details let it down. And let's turn the clock back a few years pre Cavalex Models, when you were only too happy to point out miniscule deficiencies with other manufacturers models. It works both ways!

Tis a nice model. Very nice presentation. Shame about the roof rad grilles though, what has happened there? And roof colour on the ttg example is too light.

What does that mean?

GM have sold the parts individually this way since they took Heljan spares on 3/4 years ago.

Me too. The 00 59s, and O VEA/HEA were about 8 years from initial announcement.

And guild show footfall has been in decline for a long time now. Same thing....very few layouts and lots of trade don't cater for the current predominantly rtr customer. -

I'm installing a double slip on a layout, switching is via DCC Concepts Cobalt motors. Wiring these up for blade and frog switching is very easy. However. I'm thinking it would be useful to have some electrical interlocking, also incorporating stop signals to prevent conflicting movements. Has anyone ever attempted this?
