  1. Hi Tom, Hi Gibbo, happy to help! It is a great resource, especially with the side by side function.. So much has changed in a short amount of time without realising it! I think a fellow RMWEB member, and fellow Merseysider (Beast66606) put me onto the maps link a few years ago. He also has 1000's of local photos.
  2. Is this view helpful? https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/#zoom=18&lat=53.4421&lon=-2.9800&layers=168&right=BingHyb
  3. Hi Tom, try this. Hope it helps. https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/#zoom=16&lat=53.4336&lon=-2.9889&layers=10&right=BingHyb
  4. Hi Paul I completely agree with your idea of having something smaller to work on/ keep you busy. Like you mention.. a place to photo/ showcase you weathering skills which you also get great pleasure from. As much as I loved visiting the shed in its latter days, trying to model it was a different matter.. So I am pleased to hear that you are bending away from modelling a place accurately which I know you prefer. Good Luck with it! Steve
  5. Earlier today I passed by from a distance and I thought I could make out a class 60 parked up in front of the two class 70's, I returned later to find only the 70's there. Sorry about the obstuctions..and mobile phone photos. 70 811 closest 70 813 furthest away. Cheers.
  6. Hi Paul.. I totally understand your frustrations! But I am with Jinty on this one. As for not being that confident... Look back at your achievements! In a short space of time you have change scales several times, improved your skills each step of the way, built your own trackwork. The list is endless. Whatever you decide it will be great, as I know how much thought and effort you put into every project. Cheers Steve
  7. I have just passed Seaforth dock and noticed a shiny Colas class 70 close to the fence. I could not make out a number and only spotted one loco. Cheers.
  8. Hi Paul, I didn't realise you were planning a larger layout.. Sorry! I imagined you wanted a place to photograph your locos on an 8ft x 2ft shelf but trying to retain an actual location.. My mistake! Your upscaling BIG TIME! Best regards, Steve
  9. Hi Paul, I like your idea to model the stabling point. Would you be inclueding the line with the step gradient as part of your backscene? Knowing your space constraints you may like to consider my two suggestions. You have probably researched these ideas already but here goes.. First, Birkenhead Mollington Street.. the refueling point using the new part of the shed as a backscene, it also has a scrapyard behind and is set in an urban/oily/grimey industrial area. Great for showing your locos off for a photo diorama. Second, Buxton Tmd refueling point. A nice scene to model and an excellent photo plank. Best regards, Steve
  10. I think its your best idea to date.. Go for it!
  11. I too cannot speak highly enough about the Bernina route. The scenery is truly breathtaking. I could not put my camera down. Thanks for posting Steve
  12. Hi Paul, Well I think you should go for it!! I agree that its something that is right up your street and a great way to photograph your locos and weathering skills. It reminds me of Edge Hill in its last days, a special place in my heart. Good luck with it !!! Cheers
  13. Its looking great Paul! So its your turn to do the nightshift.. at 3 in the morning lets hope it was a clean baby wipe you used! Very effective all the same Cheers!
  14. Ehh ? Did someone say 'O' gauge? whhoo-ha-haa Bridge is looking good Paul !! It will bring another dimension to your board...coming along well. Cheers Steve.
