Gentlemen, Thanks for yr input, I have the crimper and ends so I shall go source some curly cable. Useful to have been given the right spec. Incidentally the Digitrax extension cable User Guide shows the pin in/outs for the cable.

My tethered DT 602 comes with a standard curly cable. I find it a bit short but am having trouble sourcing a curly cable with male DT12 at each end and should the wiring be straight thru or reversed. Seems like a minefield, Has any one been here and solved the problem? Any steer appreciated. Thanks F

Thanks both. Iain, I hear what you say Iain about specifics and I do know which decoder etc, but I think I am missing a convention here. When folks talk about a decoder reset is it usually to clear all the user variations back to as it came out of he box from say Bachmann, Intermountain , or does it mean completely erasing ell programmed data so that it needs to be re-blown? Morning, all Hello, i have an InterMountain ES44AC in HO with Loksound Select decoder which I bought some time ago but not used. Onchanging the address today the prime mover idles but the loco does not respond to any other instructions - motion, lights etc. Nor does it seem to recognise any of the different addresses I have changed to - not really surprising. The address displays correctly when read back. Digitrax by the way. I have a number of similar locos which are fine and and I could use to localise the problem but I don't want to take the bodies off to swap decoders — yet! My question is ‘If i do a decoder reset CV8=8 will i erase everything ior will it just take the decoder back to the state that it left Intermountain?’ I dont want to lose the sound files and other Intermountain options! Most documentation is ambiguous. I guess the decoder is new enough for it to be 'reset to programmer desk / Intermountain level, but I'd like some re-assurance if poossible'. Can anyone confirm please? Thanks in anticipation. Frank

I have finally decided to upgrade from TC Bronze to Silver but am a bit concerned ease of the upgrade. After I download the 30 day version of Silver will it just work off of the old Bronze files with no intervention from me? ! I've been unable o find out so far and wonder if anyone has done it and could give me a steer. I assume as there is little data that I can find that all is easy. Thanks Yours optimistically Frank

Last time I used my railway I was experimenting with routes etc etc. Coming back to it after several month I seem to be unable to control switches manually. Using the normal Digitrax controller they can be controlled fine. I guess I need to get the routes to release control. I think I have deleted them successfully but ....... I probably need to reset the TC system to enable manual control somehow - but I have not been able to discover how. Could anyone give me a steer please? I wish I could find my daybook! Problem solved. I contacted george@ittproducts.com and received a response within the hour. The solution is shown in the image below and have posted it here for reference. George couldn't have been more helpful.

Just wired the sub board for my grade crossing with NJ InternationalI lights, arms etc and FlashMaster controller and wondering how to trigger my external bell board - an ITT GL sound module. (I thought I knew, but ho-hum...) The issue I think I have is that the FlashMaster board has two outputs labelled as below. pin 8 and pin 9 labelled BELL+ve and BELL-ve external bell trigger, (I assume 'going' is a typo for gong) but the ITT sound board has only a simple pusbutton connection (in and out) to trigger the sound. There is a note on the sound board documentation which stresses 'Do not put any voltage in any switch input terminals'. I cannot see from the Flashmaster doc'n whether its pin 8 and pin 9 are just effectively a push button or applies a voltage and I'm reluctant to experiment and blow a board. An afterthought, where do I connect pin 6 GND? Has anyone used this configuration successfully or can anyone offer a steer please. I have searched RMWeb and I've not been able to find any NJI FAQs or 'owt else on Google. Any help or a steer to somewhere else would be great. Thanks guys. Frank

Would anyone feel able to lend me a copy of Loconet Checker for a couple of weeks just to diagnose my issues to avoid breaking any terms of Use. (I think I recall it was Freeware anyway) Frank

That's really helpful and explains what I thought I had discovered. I shall have to search my laptop to see if I have a hidden old copy. JMRI always sound difficult, but I'l take yr advice and have a look. Frank

Hi guys, I am commissioning my extended layout and need to list the TrainController Bronze block assignments etc to diagnose a problem. Some time ago I used Loconet Checker which was the perfect tool for the job and lots of other stuff. Does anyone know if it is still available? All I can find is a site called 'software informer' which seems to be the only source and has indifferent feedback. Is there another source? , How could I get my hands on a copy? Has it been superseded by some other technique in Traincontroller or Digitrax for Windows? Any steer gratefully received.
