  1. Deeply saddend as a fellow rail worker! It certainly does make you go cold, we're on shift today and there is that awful atmosphere which anyone that works in a close knit industry/sector will know the feeling!
  2. Great find! I haven't come across either brewery or the beer and it's only around 20 miles east of us!
  3. I have only ever known it as a sole plate and current standards for HW & Clamp lock installation both seem to support this-
  4. A hard fought 0-0 draw in tonight's football required a strong post match beer- Tower brewery Imperial IPA 5% fits the bill and is a refreshing ale on a warm evening!
  5. With some longer fixed buffer stock I fit 4 links on one end giving more play and they aren't noticeable if you hook them back over if on the end of a rake!

  7. Thanks Beast! Ps- It looks like the owner fancies a rally look with the rear spot & oversize mud flaps!
  8. Could be a MK2 1600 Ghia? as both RS2000 & 1600 Sport had brandings on the rear panels I seem to remember. My pure (or poor) guess work unfortunately. -Andy
  9. 37 506 stands waiting for instructions as the Depot supervisors Allegro estate car awaits the fitters attention!
  10. Well I'm in heaven! In my opinion the two best beers on the planet! Can't split them and brewed within spitting distance of each other! Dead heat or stewards inquiry required!!!
  11. Darlington Model Railway Club are pleased to announce their annual exhibition to be held over the weekend 31st Aug & 1st Sept 2019. List of layouts & trade to follow.

  13. Welcome to the league Gateshead! And good news they have secured the International stadium!
  14. An enjoyable weekend exhibiting Tees Castle thus far and a less than the usual north east view from the layout.
  15. We must have been at the same games many times as I have only missed a handful of games since 1992 when I started to attend games! I never thought I would see let alone stand in the tin shed again after that last game at Feethams!
  16. I know exactly what Gateshead fans are going through! Good luck and I hope you keep your current league status! We were thrown to step 9 as I'm sure you know, certainly was interesting playing in the Northern league for a season!!!
  17. A day out in and around Skipton found this among other 'my wish list' beers at an excellent farm shop outlet! Nook'y brown ale 4.9%
  18. Is that Prince Charles in the tan suit? - Wansford May 81 J7372
  19. As I still play football 3 times a week and model (railways) I'm confused into which stereotype I fall into now? Although my body is screaming modelling every morning after a game
  20. Agreed! I certainly had no time to cause mayhem as a teen- left school in the July aged 16 and was working 2 months later on the ECML 125mph on Sept 11th 1989. Deepest condolences to all involved in the mayhem that was caused this weekend!!!!!!
  21. Later Marganese crossings had no fittings so we had to use a pin brazer gun with plug in 'bullets' to attach flexible copper braided bonds! An awful job as the braze often failed/burnt out or destroyed the end of the brazer gun.
  22. My favourite 08 is lurking in the background in the Darlington pic- Thornaby's 08 867 Ralph Easby in black (unofficially named).
  23. Whilst exhibiting with Charwelton in Derby over the weekend we visited The Alexander near the station (class 37 cab outside). The inside is just as impressive-
  24. YM11 EXP sits at the Depot on its last day of railway use with Darlington S&T dept.
  25. Great show and a great venue! Many excellent layouts to be seen when we made time for a look around! Thanks again for looking after us on Charwelton!
