  1. Great pictures of renewals at Plessey and back then this was the ‘Norm’. In the here and now they are like a ‘spot the mistake’ out of a H&S manual! I have clocked up around 10+ in a minute 😂
  2. A track circuit input to the SSI module generally uses a front contact of the TR (track relay) so that there is no direct physical connection between the operating track circuit and the SSI input so many SSI cabinets will feature these relays. Points are a mixed bag! Low voltage detection clamp lock points don’t need any relays for detection input to SSI or output to pump units etc, over the years many have been converted to 50v detection circuits and relays fitted into cabinets that previously when introduced in the early 1990’s didn’t have any! (Tyneside IECC). The interface between Tyneside SSI and York SSI at Wiske Moor near Northallerton uses relays (lots of them) for the cross over between the two!
  3. Thanks for posting that! Zooming forward on the maps shows the shop to be converted into a house as many are now! on the right looks to be open land and no houses so I wonder what was originally on the right through the bridge where the figure was stood! I presumed houses but that doesn’t seem to be the case!
  4. I love the composition of this shot! The locomotive takes the eye first (as a Peak fan) then the scene below instantly draws you in! -the moped rider and what looks like a couple? Or a man on the right possibly at the gate of their house! The desirable camper van in the distance (now worth a fortune if it’s still in existence)! The railway and people’s lives frozen in time! Superb!
  5. I was thinking that date was later also as 37049 wasn’t re-numbered from 37322 until 1988.
  6. Great pics as always! But I had to look twice at (Scan-131117-0044 V60 386 Saarbrucken Germany Class V60 386 ecs August 1967) - I thought the lady on the platform was holding/looking at a mobile phone! 🤦‍♂️😂
  7. A dry Christmas for all with no posts since October! Thought we need a stiff drink to boost the thread! 8-a-side game tonight during high winds and rain so a suitable beer needed to recover! Consett Ale Works - Red Dust 4.5% a hearty ale to fend off the poor weather!
  8. Same here! It must be a siding at Pilmoor cottages on the up side?
  9. Merry Christmas to everyone in football land! “Say- We are top of the league” for now 😅😅🫣
  10. It’s the run up to Christmas and the S&T new works team are having a clear out of the Transit!

  12. That brings back memories! That could be a Newcastle or Morpeth S&T van! Our Darlington south S&T fault team vans were F275 AUB & F260 AUB.
  13. Some nice shots around Shildon and of the aqueduct (cutting south of tunnel June 75 J4451). you can see the ‘short cut’ down the embankment to the points- we still used that into the 90’s until the boundary fences were mended and upgraded! Seems madness now with a playground in the field and holes left in fences!
  14. Great vintage films! I love the dubbed voice over saying there’s no time to drink tea - obviously not a rail worker 😂😂
  15. It’s usually diagramed for a 56 on Charwelton but it had failed so the 20’s deputised for the weekend of the show at Wigan!
  16. Class 20’s 081 and 124 head south with 7V22 Barrow Hill yard to Didcot PS

  18. I had a call this morning from Hattons confirming my 45/1 unnumbered blue version was ready to ship (I needed to update my card details). My next job was to contact Railtec to see if they were able to re-stock the complete loco pack for Tinsley allocated 45 141 ‘Zephyr’. Within a couple of hours I had a reply that the pack was back in stock and available to order! A Great response and service from both suppliers and very much appreciated!
  19. Byker Brown 4.8% is tonight’s post match beer! A 4-3 victory in our 8-a-side football and a hat-trick to boot are being well celebrated! Ps- I like the brewed in Newcastle not Yorkshire slogan on this occasion -even though I’m a Yorkshire beer fan!
  20. Busy weekend 😅 -Hire van has been dropped off and thankfully sat with a cuppa! Great show attending with ‘Charwelton into the 80’s - many thanks to the Wigan show organisers and members -we were well looked after throughout the weekend!
  21. 47076 ‘City of Truro’ heads 1C04 Nottingham Central to London Marylebone south towards Charwelton!
