  1. Forget self control Decorum, this Maunsell is brilliant. I've already run it in, fitted a 6 pin decoder and fitted Kadee's.(#18's) It's such a quiet locomotive, well worth it indeed. andy
  2. Dapol made a Titfield Thunderbolt dibber ?
  3. Thank you very much for that John. Most informative indeed. andy
  4. Good afternoon all. Sorry to bother you all but i purchased one of these USA tank's and whilst looking at the enclosed instructions, i noticed that inside the ' bag of bits ' something that looks like two boards or whatever they are. (number 1 & 2 in pink on the instruction sheet) Does anyone know what they are and what their purpose is / was please ? Many thanks for any replies. andy
  5. Good afternoon all. I ordered some DCC items from Wickness models and I'm flabbergasted at the speed my item arrived The speed, customer service etc..... has to be up there in my top three for fantastic model shops. Can't recommend them enough. Well done Wickness if you are on here, keep up the good work. andy
  6. I'm considering using Hornby Dublo 3 Rail when my H1415 arrives lol
  7. I had never heard of Derails before until I scoured the network for a Bachmann 64xx and spotted on on their website. Only took a couple days, free postage and it arrived today so well packed too. I heartily recommend Derails for those that have not ordered from them etc. A fantastic service and they keep you updated on the progress of your order too. Andy
  8. Called Hatton's on Friday to see if they knew when my H1415 be available. Was told it was the end of March. Can't wait for it to arrive.
  9. That Colin, that is a jolly good idea..............i better ring Kernow and hopefully they can help me out ? I can hide 'other' in amoungst other loco's i have ! Like your thinking Mr Hargrave, i'll think of something if she does ever find out, i really don't want to look like a Panda bear with a couple of black eyes....... thank you
  10. Ordered 74 010 today ...........only one small problem i can foresee, how in hell's bell's name do i expain two Class 74's arriving on the doorstep to the 'boss' ? (she only know's about one 74 i bought, the other one she doesn't know about, she might have a mental fit if she finds out) I need to think of a good excuse or i'll be in the dark brown smelly stuff otherwise and i certainly don't wish to wake up in the morning with my gentleman's vegetables floating in a glass of water next to my bedside !!!
  11. Thanks for that Mike, most kind of you to tell me, i'm going to order another 74 tomorrow but not sure which one yet ? I might stretch an extra tenner and get 74010 Fingers crossed that both of them arrive before xmas day
  12. Is the class 74 still on course for delivery / release later this year or a delay into next year, if anyone knows please ?
  13. Not to be a tight fisted git here but it's even cheaper if you use your right hand then you can buy one of these wonderful 4TC's ! Seriously, this is fantastic news, i've waited years for a company to make one of these 4TC's. All i need now is the news for a REP. Someone mentioned about a 33/1 and two 4TC's being the limit..................i seem to recall reading somewhere that when leaving weymouth, the driver would switch off the train heating to get the extra bit of juice to power up towards dorchester, how true that is i don't know ? Thank you Kernow for this 4TC
  14. I'm hoping to save up for this wonderful looking locomotive, then place my order for it. I only ever saw two in the BR days. One at Eastleigh and the other fratton / pompy way back in the late 70's. Fingers crossed it doesn't go up to much in price. Good luck Dave with these
  15. Yes, I agree with you on this one, I spotted it too. It was this person......... Secretary Company Secretary: Amy Stacey Bless her
  16. For my Heljan class 33, i used two old so called 'loyalty cards' from supermarkets. I filed one end of each at an angle (75 degrees roughly) so they could get between the body & the chassis easily. It works all the time that i have to remove bodies (model ones, not humans) Very carefully & gently, you can remove the body, but do not force it to much...............for obvious reasons. Good luck andy
  17. And about time too. I've waited years for someone to do an RTR 07. All I need now is for someone to make a 4-tc and a 4-REP and I'll be as happy as a pig in poo.

    New OO gauge Class 73

Goodness me, a very useful, informative thread this. I was so looking forward to getting the JA version (BR green) but i think i'll save my money until things improve.
  19. In a word....................wow. What a fantastic job you have done on your layout '66'. Keep up the good work.

Looks great Moggs, well done. The bridge you have built looks good too. Up the AAC Moggs
  21. Fantastic shop Buffers. More helpful than some of the other shop's I can tell you. When I purchase items, the staff enter the items on their computer and give you points. You can then redeem your points towards p & p, other items etc, fantastic ! Buffers are the only ones I have come across that do the points thing. Fast delivery as some of you say, cannot fault Buffers, well, i could if i'm honest.......to many cups of tea and by the time I'm have way home, my bladder is ready to burst !!!! Great model shop, highly recommend it.
  22. Spot on Combe Martin. The fork is the problem as you said. Years ago, i met a bloke whom had this original signal box 'map' & he also had the WC 34107 Blandford Forum name plates too. Interesting chap to talk too he was. If only the Mac Hawkins map was say 1950's onwards, i wouldn't be scratching my head so much lol
  23. Thank you Paul and Chris. I shall try the Somerset archives.
