Ta. I will get some and try it. It may be the doors are abs so the only other thing I could try is the glue plumbers use to fasten plastic pipes together with.

No, a swinging link standard dg mounted via a 10ba nut and bolt fastened to the rear buffer beam. Front one will be attached to the bofie.

Some one had polished the end doors on the photo of the original one. The sections outside looked clean but under inspection (optivisor looking through aanother magnifier you can just pick out where someone then got bored and didn't finish the cleaning.. job for today as we are due the end of the world thunderstorm later.

Try painting the bufferbeams with white primer. The red should be better but get a better buffer beam red.

The Patriot photo doesn't do it justice. I have got a semi-cleaned look using a new technique. When it stops raining I hope to get a better photograph outside with plenty of sun light!

Ink/ water nix painted on then weathering powder added while the ink was still wet. A bit more ink/water mix added where the powders were still dry.

It may be listed but they have made some changes...like bricking up the front door. It isn't far from where GreenBat (Greenwood and Batley) used to build locomotives

Wash it all out with GT85. It will stop it seizing solid if left stationary for any length of time

That bit at the front. Is eithe toe plate or a Glaciis plate.

Front three are Churchill tanks so post 1941 ish. Notice that they have removed the exhaust boxes and stored them on the engine decks. This gets a churchill inside to UK loading gauge.

And the client likes the weathering. He took this lot away and brought me some more to sort out.
Not all weathering neds to be really filthy. Subtle colouring brings out the immense amount of detail on newer RTR items.

I reset the CVs so that the head/tail lamps are correctly lit, fixed a destination board lamp, gave the roof a quick once over with dark ink/water and then added some track dirt along the lower edges of the bodywork. A bit of dirt around the buffer beams then a bit of "grease" on the buffer heads.
Client wanted it to b fairly lightly weathered - and the light in my photo "booth" isn't good a showing up very light weathering.

I had to buy here a piece of wood with various holes drilled in it which makes music when air is blown into it..and it cost HOW MUCH!!!

Plastic weld bounces off some types of ABS apparently (from an industry source). Heljan add ons are ABS and they don't stick using plastic weld.. or rather they do but not for long..
