  1. Ey up! I blame the money grabbing lawyers for a lot of the problems of the world.. time they were put firmly back in their box.. only my opinion.. Got lots of little jobs to do today.. they all take time for limited returns. I have to o0en the railway club this afternoon for a couple of people to fix odd items. I will find some things to do while down there. Busy flight pattern out of Leeds today.. Jet2 service their 737 fleet here so some positioning flights going on.. 2 flights in 20 minutes are off to Glasgow..that flight used to be a scheduled one using Shorts 360s.. happy memories! Time to rouse myself. Enjoy your day as much as you can! Baz
  2. Mornington Crescent.. but where to next?? And, can you use the reverse Waterloo pivot to move on to your chosen route?? Baz
  3. @polybear.. a This is a fascinator.. Mrs O works in a sue ryder charity shop.. she found a WYPTE Kerching card today (a pre paid multiple use bus ticket.. which, when you put it in the ticket machine the machine went "Kerching"whilecit stamped the date and time on it. They find all sorts of stuff in donations.. Baz
  4. It's like a hat.. but it isn't a full hat. You wear it for weddings etc.. Baz PS and it costs OW MUCH?? BAZ
  5. Ey up! @Ozexpatriate the only thing to do is become hermit.. and live in a bunker until its all over.. at least you know when it is.. we are just going to suffer for an indeterminate time...Pah! Nice bew bike @New Haven Neil.. is its name indicative to the social standing of your good lady? Her indoors got home at 11:30 last night. She has ordered a dress, bought a jacket and fascinator to go with it.. wallet is in shock! An interesting melding of minds yesterday .. which was great.. perhaps if these minds were used to govern the UK it would quickly return to being run by a sensible party? Dr Eldest Herbert has identified that few, if any, politicians have had to face life threatening points in their career.. in US Military parlance.. "having seen the elephant". It means they are clueless about "normal life" He could well be right. (For his PhD he interviewed Lord Carrington, Dennis Healey and Dame Sirley Williams who, despite their political differences, used their personal history to work together in the interest of the common people.. I think that may be why nobody trust politicians? I am off to moreasons to allow her indoors to catch up with herself so TTFN! Baz
  6. Ey up! If you live in Britain and don't like the surveillance in place you can always move somewhere else. If you live outside of Britain and don't like how we do business.. well tough.. its our little island.. you choose not to live here so.. Baz
  7. Good idea.. just like the real thing.. Baz
  8. My Bachmann (and Kitmaster) Mark 1s have been fitted with floor mounted No 5s for years, as have y kit built LMS coaching stock. Makes it easier to remove stock from exhibition layouts and you can still uncouple them using magnets or hand uncoupling on the layout. You just need to make sure the ride heights are correct and position te draft boxes to allow the couplings to go around your tightest curves. (Note not all Bachmann Mk1s have the same ride height due to the variation in bogie set ups and.. the hook and bar couplings can cause derailments in my experience) Baz
  9. As it happens not yet Baz
  10. Ey up! Not a good nights sleep obtained.. Pah! Off to play with a scale model of a place near Barnsley near Barnsley today @Erichill16knows where I mean! UK PLC has turned itself into a profit provider for many overseas companies including Pension funds in Canada and free roving financial whizz kids in the USA. Service comes last to these money grabbing people but the City of London loves them.. Time to gerronwithit. I hope @grandadbobis OK.. along with other missing ERs I hope they are well! @polybear Madeira, the Canaries, the Balearics are ok. Malta as already said is nice.. or you could visit thecRailways of the North. TTFN Baz
  11. they play cricket on the frozen lake as well.. and no, I am not volunteering to umpire it! Baz
  12. Ey up! 8.5 hours sleep.. a record! Last paid job I did meant working strange hours.. as in day and night shift crossovers.. delivering SAP training. My then director called me in one day to tell ne HR had gone nuts with him due to my extra hours (one week it was 95 hours) . What should I not do? Just get on and do it.. just consider this a rollicking of course once SAP went live the flexitime kicked in and I could have (like my ex colleagues now do) had lots of extra holidays. PAH! Only ever allowed to take up to 3 weeks off while I worked.. in retirement I can now fo things like 3 months in Oz and NZ.. Time to gerronwithit! Baz
  13. enjoyable day at Preston Show.. but boy the muppets on the M62 were causing chaos! Her indoors has driven down to Chelmsford.. she reckons the muppets had moved off the M62 and were busy causing chaos on the A1... If ever you are invited to a Sikh wedding ... go ! took me weeks to get over the one we went to! Cruise liners do cause problems. In Tauranga in New Zealand the place is full at lunchtime them empty from a bout 3pm as the cruise liners take their passengers back on board.. in smaller places (like Akaroa) it is hopeless at lunchtimes... Noticeably in Madeira the German based ships do tend to "hog" the best cafes etc in Funchal but don't spend much..The Brits generally pay their way. We met an American lady last year in Auckland.. she had gone "exploring" the rest of the cruise liner passengers stayed in their rooms...lummy.. Auckland is a great place to have a look around with lots to do and see.. but no.. they were recovring from their 12 hour flight from California (put it into perspective, it took us 23 hours of so to get to NZ from the UK.. They were mortified! The cruise left Auckland and went to Tauranga, Christchurch, Fijorland, Wellington , Melbourne , Sydney.. then home.. thats New Zealand and Australia covered in 10 days.... tick in box! Baz
  14. Ey up! Off to Preston shortly. I hope to buysome much needed muddling items. Time for porridge! TTFN Baz Ps wheres @grandadbob??
  15. Yep 2 can be achieved relatively easily. Most of the locos for Carlisle do this. The English Electric Type 4 and Brush type 4 on Shap are both fitted with legomanbiffo sounds. Both work well.. listening to them notching back as they get to the summit sounds good to me. @1471SirFrederickBanbury.. pick a really hard to machine metal.. Tungsten.. its a so and so to machine.. Baz

  21. Flipping lightweights! Wouldn't last 5 minuted Doon the Toon... ( or rather on a night out in Newcastle upon Tyne in the snow with the ladies in short skirts, strappy sandals, strapped tops and a handbag the lads in T shirt, shorts and flip flops...) Baz
  22. so been a very busy bee.. not just with Muddling but in trying to get cricket in my Region sorted... Been busy building platforms, wiring, testing and ballasting.. note the 12 wheel dining car in the middle lay by road.. a bit more tidying up on the ballast to do and also need to get the platform edges done. and looking away from the buffer stops.. and some more switches added to the control panel. All points in this rea are mandraulic, ones further out are electrically operated via PECO switches Electromagnets to fit and wire (I will be using sprung switches to operate these. More photos soon! 24. Ey up! @The Q.. we set ourselves up as a CIO(Charity incorporated Organisation. Why? It Cost less to run (qe submit accounts and a wrirebup on what we do for the community each year, we can get gift aid from all donations and gives access to other fund raising opportunities. It also limits our liabilities as Trustees. Well worth looking at! Chuckinitdarn here but I must buy some provisions s this morning. Some emails need to be sent and returns need to be read and acted upon. Then.. a bit more muddling I hope! Hope that all ERs are in good form, any who are ailing have a calm and restful day! Baz
