  1. Do you know what diagrams you want Jonathan ?there is a good chance Bill Bedford will already do them, should save you some hassle. http://www.mousa.uk.com/Cat7/Catalog7.pdf J.P.
  2. I bought some of the flux a few months back, and I am now a total convert, no more nasty fumes when soldering, is a good enough reason if any to use it. As regards to dirty tips, I no longer use a sponge, but follow some advice given on the old RMWEB by Jazz (if I remember correctly) and that was to use a tip tinner/cleaner (got mine from maplins) and a stainless scouring pad from Asda. My tip is now like new, always shinney and ready to pick up any solder. I cannot recomend this technique enough. J.P.
  3. Hi k9-70

I'm really enjoying your 80's & 90's NE gallery, keep posting the information including carriage numbers, I'm finding the information invaluable after I threw out all my old note books in my twenties.

    J.p.

  4. Thanks Larry It's 7mm, with tissue papper glued to the roof for canvass, painted a light grey and then oversprayed with Pheonix roof dirt. Lots of us 7mm guys use tissue papper for canvass, I've never seen it done in 4mm, might look a bit overscale but why not give it a go on some scrap. J.p.
  5. Modfather Have you tried Thompsons of Stockton.

  6. That sounds great Adrian, I'm going to keep my eye on this one, another couple of loco's to the standard of your Jinty and it will look great, any chance of seeing a picture of the shed? I've been playing around with idea's for the layout challange myself but have'nt come up with anything that would fit yet 2010 inches sounds a lot but a couple of B8 points soon eat into it. I'm not going to commit until I can come up with a workable plan, but it will be Modern image for a change. J.P.
  7. I number'd it yesterday Mick, I had been putting it off due to lack of information, but looks like as best I can find these vans had numbers only, and no other bits and bobs, have been trying to update pictures but having some trouble. Cheers J.P.
  8. Done some painting, the two shades of brown are not noticable to the eye but show up pretty bad on the picture, will have to check in daylight tomorrow and add further weathering. J.P.
  9. Thanks for the welcome chaps, I have built it with the kit designed rocking axle compensation as it's built to F/S, their's a cradel to hold both axles behind the springs if that makes sense, the easiest way of building it to S7 would be with working leaf springs. In a effort to save ??3:25 postage on a ??2:00 pot of Pheonix paint I've ordered a can of Triumph Russett Brown from Halfords cost ??11, where's the logic in that? Update when I get the paint on Monday. (Could'nt be mixed in store as contains lead) J.P.
  10. Good Morning Chaps I've finaly got round to setting up a profile on the new Forum, it's taking a bit of getting used to though, this is the second time I've written this. I model in S7 but also occasionaly build F/S stuff to sell on and bring in more valuable modelling funds. I do not have a layout at present but there are plans to remady the situation once I've constructed a bit more stock. Here is my current project a D&S General Van built to F/S, now at the painting stage but I am finding Pheonix Precision Paints P60 hard to get hold of at the present, could anybody please inform me of a suitable equivalent.
