  1. I would avoid the Hornby product as it does not operate in the same way the Peco switch does. The Hornby one switches both outputs on each throw of the lever whereas the Peco only switches one and will work better if using a cdu.
  2. Downloaded the W11 iso from MS and deleted the system check files. Hoping this will now update itself.
  3. My only need for a stay alive is to maintain the sound on a loco as it goes through the polarity change gap on my turntable. Good track wiring does not help in that case. My only loco to achieve this is the Accurascale Manor but saying that, the only other 'stay alives' I have are those that come pre-fitted to Zimo decoders, non of them appear to do anything.
  4. I bought a refurbished Dell last month, is there something I need to do to get it to update?
  5. Your friend is Simon Kohler and I claim my £5.00.
  6. Measuring mine a while back I found I had 13kΩ between the track. Finding no obvious cause of shorts I have put it down to the graphite I use on the track, bridging over the insulated fishplates.
  7. I have just tried on my account, and clicking on the first name, last name and telephone number fields makes them editable but it doesn't happen with the email address field.
  8. Make them yourself and sell them on eBay for a few pence plus postage and put him out of business.
  9. Leaving despatch until next year suits me, as they won't then get bogged down or thrown about with the Xmas post.
  10. Delayed gratification is the resistance to the temptation of an immediate pleasure in the hope of obtaining a valuable and long-lasting reward in the long-term. In other words, delayed gratification describes the process that the subject undergoes when the subject resists the temptation of an immediate reward in preference for a later reward that is more favourable. Generally, delayed gratification is associated with resisting a smaller but more immediate reward in order to receive a larger or more enduring reward later. I'd sooner we talk about the Manor.
  11. You need to turn the volume right up.
  12. Would it coast forever? None of my other sound locos do it, when they reach the slower speed setting the exhaust beats pick up again.
  13. I notice when it is running and chuffing away that if I decrease it a speed step the chuffing sound stops. I have to press F1 to get it back.
  14. Have you not read the warnings not to buy from Modelmaster Jackson Evans?
  15. Old thread resurrection. I have been getting verification codes texted to me over the last few days. I have logged into my accounts (5) and none require a code. I do use 2 step verification but it has only been needed if I delete my cookies. Reading the above posts I will go along with the incorrect phone number scenario.
  16. Granville Manor arrived this morning. On opening the box everything is intact on the loco, no glue marks, only thing I could spot was one cab handrail just short of the roof which will be sorted at the weekend. It took just short of two hours to read all sheets on decoder pro, (my Zimos took around twenty minutes), and my only change was the running number and to turn off dc. Running was a very smooth start and gradual acceleration, no slowing on curves. Stopping using F2 was smooth as well, noting the differences between heavy and light loco, (F5 & F6). The sound did not go off when on the turntable and the polarity changed, so the stay alive is working. I only wish the stay alive that comes with the Zimos would have managed just that. I am well pleased with it, but the rest of my locos on the shed are wondering what this green thing is that has just turned up.
  17. Testing... ebay...ebay... ebayebayebay... Yes, it's ok to say ebay on here without a major catastrophe happening.
  18. Television stardom had gone to his head.
  19. On my fiddle yard boards I also run my bus connections through them.
