  1. Not forgetting that the nut needs to be recut/replaced when stringing the opposite way round.
  2. I can beat that... I'm selfish, unsupportive and Xenophobic.
  3. The BFI film wouldn't play for me until I turned off Adblock.
  4. Brick!!! You were lucky... our 'ouse was a cardboard box.
  5. The welding on the cheap trestles is done in the workshops for the visually impaired. I have a couple where none of the welding is square.
  6. Unless the loco has lights you only need four wires. If the decoder stays in the loco you would have two wires to the speaker and two for the pickups, if the tender has any. If you move the decoder to the tender, which is what I would do, you still only need four wires, two to the motor and two for the pickups.
  7. You can buy pre wired 4 pin jst connectors like these. For wire, I have stripped the cores from old computer cables, such as mouse, printer, keyboard etc.
  8. Did you not try the encoders from AliExpress. two for less than a fiver posted. Mine is still working fine.
  9. It was originally priced at more than a standard 4 wheeled wagon from Oxford Rail. Will the price of Oxford Rail wagons double when sold in a Hornby box?
  10. 'Go to first unread post' has started going to the first old post at the top of the last page.
  11. Are they a second run? I thought the original availability was so hard to get that people could not make a full rake.
  12. If these have all sold out, where did they come from, or are they Hattons original allocation arriving late. Coronation Coaches.
  13. The implementation of the adverts will have added an extra cost to running the forum which also must be recouped. I have decided not to sign up for premium, as after all the time, money and hair loss that has been invested in monetising the forum it is only fair that Warners see some return from it.
  14. They will also want paying, adding to the cost of running the site.
  15. Three of these would do me nicely. You have the parts.
  16. I have recently found in my loft some Precision Paints Company paints (some unopened) I bought in the '70s. A good stir, a ball bearing put in the tin and shaken and they are good to go.
  17. I picked up my coaches during the week and my only criticism was the overly large gaps between the coaches. The fitters in the carriage shops found some EZ Mate couplings* in the stores and worked NYE butchering them to fit in the NEM pockets. *Bought years ago from Hattons, 12 pairs for £2.00
  18. I leave a couple of times a week then drift back when I've got nothing better to do. Don't look at the overpriced models, there are plenty of new wagons priced around £10.
  19. These can often be found in plentiful growing near the play areas in children's parks. Has anyone found a modelling use for them?
