  1. Hope I am not boring you all with these HAA/HMA photos? Anyway here is another yellow cradle ex trainload coal version I have finished. Its a HMA with plenty of patches copied from a prototype photo and numbered correctly.
  2. Another Dapol HAA almost finished. This time a faded filthy ex trainload coal version (yellow cradle). I quite like the yellow cradle versions and have another two to do. As usual transfers by Railtec Transfers which I have chopped up some of the number panels and fitted individual numbers to get the correct number for the wagon I was copying. Before and after photos...
  3. The next 2007 era HAA is in the early stages of weathering and fading. This will be HAA 350145 with faded yellow cradle, before work started and current progress pictured.
  4. More work recently transforming the HAA which has become an EWS heavily weathered HMA. Not finished it needs a coat of matt varnish to seal the transfers then another coat of weathering to blend it all in.
  5. Nice work, Scimitar looks great.
  6. Thanks Trev. Great photo isn't it, one of my favourites.
  7. On the workbench this weekend a Dapol HAA with brown cradle. This will become a filthy HMA number 355863 with an EWS and filth cradle. I have already painted the under frame and the cradle ends with frame dirt. The mechanisms for opening the hopper doors are picked out in white and unusually it has one yellow and one red axle box cover. Next step will be weathering the hopper then decals.
  8. Looking good Rob, nice to see you back.
  9. Saturday shunt with 08737. Another stunning Photo by Chris Nevard for Model Rail magazine.
  10. Thanks Steve, I will have a look at your progress.
  11. Having a change from HEA’s and HAA’s today but still the 2007 theme. An OAA in a bit of a hybrid Railfreight / EWS livery still work in progress.
  12. Another HAA finished again copied from a photo of the prototype 360651 in 2007 condition.
  13. I modelled 00 for 30 odd years and have been exhibiting since 2002 with various 00 layouts. Since moving to 0 gauge I can safely say I will never build another 00 layout again. In fact I am just starting the boards for my second 0 gauge exhibition layout which will be only 5ft x 2ft secenic.
  14. 6' x 2' and the cost isn't much more than 00 now for wagons and locos if you shop around.
  15. Hooded HBA wagon in 2007 condition almost finished. https://ukrailwaypics.smugmug.com/UKRailRollingstock/H/HBA-MGR-coal-hopper-with/i-BCFXvZt/A
  16. And the wasp stripes are to thin. I have seen a few correct this and it does make a big difference but is a lot of effort.
  17. It feels like I have done 980! I have probably done about 15 now but I don't keep them all. Dapol are releasing a new batch very soon which will be interesting. I do like all the variants of livery etc, no two are the same.
  18. I picked up another EWS 08 for a reasonable price at the MIOG exhibition. Made a start on it's transformation today but can anyone guess its identity?
  19. Thanks Rob, currently working on another HDA a hooded HBA and some HAA's all in grotty 2007 condition, watch this space.
  20. Another hopper wagon off the workbench, a HDA in 2007 condition
  21. The faded Mainline Freight HEA is all but finished, before and after pictures...
  22. As usual an excellent show and it's on again tomorrow so if you get a chance pop along.
