  1. Just a plain BR Blue TOPs Class 47 with Perspex domino headcode please. (Put me down for three!). Would be a nice match for the recently announced 20174 and previously announced 37041 too. These were so common back in the day and I am sure there would be huge demand. We really need everyday run of the mill rather than some of the fancy liveries and I think all 508 carried this guise.
  2. I think Hornby really did miss a trick on not expanding their LMS coach range in the 2017 announcements. Should Oxford go for this and get the livery match and detail right with the Hornby range I think it could be a major coupe for them with high demand and kudos (maybe even showing a bit of oneupmanship over their established rival in pinching something Hornby really ought to have done themselves). This flip side I guess is that they could actually increase Hornby sales of too as the range as a whole becomes more desirable. Nothing wrong with Oxford getting a slice of the cake and in doing so making the cake as a whole bigger!
  3. Think Bachmann have produced a nice listing and though one can never say that it is possible to please 'All of the people all of the time' I would say they will be pleasing 'Most of the people most of the time.' Surprised at the following: No Class 86 - so who's doing that then? No pretty Caledonian liveried steamer. No re-tooled 43xx No rake of new design coaches (playing catch-up) No more SECR announcements (in 00) thought a Dancehall brake would be a given by someone No TOPS BR Blue Domino Class 46 or Class 47 Very pleased at the following: Carflat Motorail BR Blue Domino Class 20 (adds nicely to my growing fleet ta) Preserved LNER Liveried B1 1264 Railfreight Red VEA / OBA / BAA Weyborne Road Bridge If the MR 1P were to be done (Possibly as a commission) in SDJR sure it would sell like hot cakes. Thank you Bachmann!
  4. I will defo be keeping my orders. I did get an E5001 (general release rather than NRM as not keen on gloss finish) from Hornby as DJM not doing this loco. Also I ordered BR Blue Class 71 from DJM and the Class 74 in BR Blue too - all paid for and eagerly though patiently awaited. After such a tough year personally, a little more time to wait for a great model is not a big deal in perspective. So long as we get it eventually I'll be very happy and glad to support Dave in all his efforts.
  5. Quick question please: Did these ever appear in "Great Western" green livery? Thanks!
  6. My two arrived the other day. Very nice coaches indeed thank you Invicta / Kerry! Does anyone know please, of any appropriate transfer for renumbering one of them as I would like to change one of the pair to an alternative running number? I wonder if we might see Invicta doing a similar product utilising the Bachmann Birdcage at a later date. Other options for Invicta could be SDJR liveried Hornby Peckett (Yes PLEASE!) and blue liveried LMR brake van (I understand under consideration)! Simon
  7. Surely this ought to be a given for 2017. I'll have one please, go to with the lovely Hornby LSWR Maunsell rebuilt coaches waiting in the loft!
  8. Yellow wasp strip variety arrived from a certain retailer formerly from not so far from Anfield! What a lovely gem! Eagerly awaiting someone to find a DCC solution - would make a very useful magazine article.
  9. I have an RTC one on order. Not being as expert as some of the other contributors here, I doubt I would have noticed all the pointed seaming inaccuracies but I think basics like the windows being the correct size is something pretty fundamental which one ought to expect as a given. I have to say that the shape of the corridor connector and the curvature of the face / sides junction are major factors too in giving the model an overall feel of lifelikeness. If in fact we are already past to tooling stage my hope is that once liveried and in '00' sizes any inaccuracies are less obvious and liveable. Otherwise this is a big ask for £270 for what is essentially 4 coaches. Still, we pays our money we makes our choice / takes our chance! Be a shame for Kernow if this does not sell well though.
  10. Speaking of coal loads, it makes you wonder if the loco crews were ever in danger of a landslide, possibly while under heavy braking. Never heard of this happening though looking photos of mountainous coal loads I could perceive a risk!
  11. Very much hoping (maybe pie in the sky) that there is a Mk3 brake (loco hauled stock) to follow at some point from Oxford. Much rather run one of those than a Mk1 BG at the end of a rake of lovely BR Blue-Greys Mk3. The Mk3 Sleepers I am expecting with a ittle more certainty. Were there also Mk3 composites running on Edingburgh Waverley - Glasgow Queen Street workings? Think these are a little less likely. In the end I think the future production runs by Oxford will depend on how well the initial releases sell, and as I guess they will go like hot cakes I think we can all be happy so long as they're all up to spec.!
  12. Yes, quite right - appreciate this (Class 84 Loadbank) would be a different model altogether.
  13. Would love Bachmann to do a proper job of 85035 with domino heacodes. Yes, it did actually run like this, though the model I used isn't quite acurate though I am reasonably happy with it (needless to say I would buy a full-fat genuine one). [sorry - not figured out how to attach a photo of mine yet]. The Class 84 would be fantastic, particularly if a special edition on the Loadbank in RTC were produced/commissioned.
  14. Well it would be great to see the RTC on done properly given the half baked Hornby effort from a few years back! ie. wrong body for prototype.
  15. Well it will be a year when Warley comes around again so hopefully there will at least be some news by then.
  16. Got a full set of the originals from Bachman in Blood & Custard including the brake. These new ones do look lovely, may consider upgrading mine, though I have to say that it is a shame that Bachmann do not appear to be doing an upgrade of the BG at the same time. Can't really justify going for a set in teak given I already have rakes of Gresley's in both corridor and non-corridor varieties.
  17. Month one since last post on these - that means one more month less to wait! Thrilled at the prospect and can't wait to order. Defo decided on a full set with the wrap round end RTC style - almost certainly get another couple of power cars so I can run in service mode too! Hoping we might see some progress at Warley - can't believe that is now less than three months away!
  18. So looking forward to these! Mine is the Route Learner - fantastic! Need to make sure I have a 21-pin decoder free when it does eventually arrive!

    Model Rail Sentinel

NCE D14SR decoder fitted. Works great and a real neat fit as 8 pin direct plug in, As it almost hides in the roof about as good as I could have hoped for - very pleased! Departmental No.54 away you go! Yay

    Dapol Class 21/29

My decision to buy or not will be down to the colour of the BR Blue livery. Not got much confidence after the Class 22 and Class 73 efforts neither of which to me looked even nearly right. Surely Dapol can get a decent match to a Hornby or Bachmann rendition of BR Blue to get it to look something like!
  21. After some thought of liking the as released condition and also having a RTC Depot, I am having difficulty in making a choice between 41001/41002 and ADB975813/4 versions. In the end I think I will take an executive decision and go for both! Absolutely fantastic that they are doing the coaches as mentioned in #105 Massive thanks Rapido!
  22. Well - probably holding my breath forever for a Hornby matching restaurant Maunsell. I do think that by doing a restaurant car it could also boost sales of other matching stock and would also love to see matching restaurant cars for LMS and GWR coaches from Hornby as I am sure it would be a 'Win-win'!
  23. Email this morning from Hornby - "Now in stock" Nice video on the Hornby Website also. Enjoy!
  24. Very informative thank you. Seams a strange that Hornby are producing 3 coaches out of 4 as brakes. I may well be sending 1 or 2 of my order of 4 green ones back at this rate.
  25. Really looking forward to this coach. I wonder if we might be lucky enough to get any other LMR coaches to match (livery), as l'd love to make a short train up. Expect if the initial coach sells well we could be lucky! Were there ever any LMR livered/lettered freight vehicles? If so these would be great also, even just a brake van and a couple of plank wagons.
