  1. That will be a Blue one for me with Domino's - thanks SLW. Going to go for the Sound fitted option as always hankered for a rat sound. Worried about ending up with a rat infestation though, given 4 Bachmann and 2 Heljan ones in similar liveries in due course, not to mention a Heljan ETHEL - quick, call 'Pest-o-Blast' before it gets out of hand and I end up with a SLW ETHEL3 too! My only regret is nobody has done a Class 25/0 yet as I would absolutely love one of these RTR though won't hack a model as I know I always make a mess!
  2. I remember that. Was luck enough to go around Reddish just after the 76's had been withdrawn, think it was October 1981. A few very old Kodak 126 instamatic photos somewhere of some on the grass and also recollections of 40131 being there and 40055 going off shed, plus a Class 25 possibly 25294. I was not even in my teens and my Pal and I travelled across from Seamer with a neighbour who was heading for the Manchester Model Exhibition. Also recall what seemed like the rest of the 76's parked up at Guide Bridge!
  3. Just a thought - buy it, test it is OK then store it pending a suitable donner for 20118 emerging. That way if another one turns up as 20132 you can always get that as well and sell on your original purchase.
  4. Nothing new there sadly. More and more space sacrificed to seating / coffee shop etc. Personally If I wanted a coffee I would go to a coffee shop. I want to see exhibits and locos at the NRM not folks having coffees. Appreciate the dynamics of economics though frustrated it is becoming less about floor space for locos etc and more about selling coffees. Commercialism!
  5. Ran my BR E/Cr 94xx in on DC then fitted a Bachmann 36-567 which I believe to be Zimo derived. Have to say it runs like a dream and crawls more than slow enough for me. If yours if fine on DC I can only suggest trying a Bachmann 36-567.
  6. Thanks - BR Black one ordered already! Funny thing is - I nearly put it on the Diesel tab on my spreadsheet! lol Now I have an image in my mind of (when they are on the layout) a pairing of the Leader and GT3 together and asking a non-enthusiast to pick the steam locomotive? Really excited by the KR Locos - thanks for taking these on. You make them and we'll buy them! Class 84 next please! lol
  7. Have run mine in on DC on a test oval and then fitted a Bachmann 36-567 [Zimo derived] decoder. Super model, super smooth on both DC + DCC and more than slow enough at a crawl for my needs. Really like this loco - in process of ordering new plates from 247 Developments. In time will pair it up with Rapido's 1501 - both in BR Unlined Black with Early Crests (and both sporting 81A shedcode plates)!
  8. Though possibly without the crests.
  9. I am really excited about getting my GT3 (with sound). These are tough days for us all and as someone who goes days on end not seeing anyone, anything to get excited over has to be good be it toy, model or however defined, it's all in the eye of the beholder. I've/we've also got the Fell to look forward too and will be ordering the Leader too and pop me down for a super-Clayton also whilst you're at it please. We are lucky to be able to loose ourselves in a wonderful hobby. A big thank you for giving us some light in these times none of us ever thought we would be in when GT3 was announced! Keep up the good work and as nobody else seams likely to give us Classes 82-84 please could I try a gentle nudge in that direction!
  10. Still waiting for my pack of three flat wagons from the Northwest, still showing as pre-ordered! Hope they materialise before too long!
  11. The silence is deafening - and somewhat disappointing!
  12. Hi again, I think James also - though as mentioned above, maybe try some more on us too. I do think the slight pause Brian has between 13 & 28 sounds very good. Very excited about this product. As I mentioned previously (amongst a multitude of announcement phrase suggestions) is it possible to include some kind of interface within the programme to facilitate the use of multiple speakers with interactive options for which ones can be triggered for given sounds. This would allow the announcements to be played in the station and for example, and signal box leaver sounds play elsewhere on the layout. Appreciate you interacting in the development of this thank you!
  13. Love this type of picture, reminds me of my childhood. Cannot wait for GT3 to arrive. Must to try and recreate this line-up as I have the other locos!
  14. Remote selling regs. There could be a lot of returns. If as appears to be true - how on earth has this happened? We may never know! I feel for the company - they could suffer very badly.
  15. On the 70's version I love the named trains element. Thinking of all those trains I used to see 'Royal Scot' / 'Wessex Scot' / 'Midday Scot' / 'Highland Chieftain' / 'Scarborough Spa Express' etc. So many happy memories! Can all the London stations also be prefixed 'London' (inc. Broad Street)? Other since closed stations or changed names including: Ballock Pier / Ballock Town / Troutbeck / Louth / Radipole / Rotherham Masborough / Sheffield Victoria / Sheffield Midland / Chapeltown / Brightside / Blencow / Filey Holiday Camp / Liverpool Exchange / Liverpool Riverside / Speeton / Slaggyford / Woodhall Junction / Kilmalcolm / Burton Agnes / Flamborough / Garsdale / Carnaby / Godley East / Point Pleasant / Stogumber / Wolverhampton Low Level / Wolverhampton High Level / Knotty Ash / Penruddock / Dalston Junction / Manchester Mayfield / New Hadley / Lincoln St Mark's / Clayton West / Corby / Brocklesby / Elsham / Sinfin Central / Sinfin North / Miles Platting If we could also have please that would be great too: Football Special (Footex), Additional Extra (Adex), Relief Service, Railtour, Special, Steam Special, Inter-City, Inter-City 125, Motorail, Fast, Semi-fast, Stopping Service, Local, Where the train will divide the front portion going forward to....... and the rear portion for......... , British Rail Apologises for the later running/cancellation of this service due to: Frozen Points / Locomotive Failure / Failure of a preceding train / following a slow running freight train / ASLEF industrial action / Crew shortage / Diversion / Football Hooligans / Trespassers on the line / Protesters / No available Guard How about some enthusiast banter: "I've copped that" / "I need that for haulage" / "Beast" / "What a Monster!" / "Oh no, not that Duff again!" / "Wagon" / "Fab its' a ........Whistler / Chopper / Siphon / Peak / Skinhead / Rat / McRat / Deltic / Western / Warship / Banana / Roarer / Grid / Hoover" "You Insect" / "Oh My Lords!" / "Got any Gen" / "Its Pegged" / "Bog Cart" / "Bug Unit" / "Look out, the Grippers coming!" / "We need to bail here lads" / It's failed" / It's a drag" / "Gotta Grice that" / "Gricers" / "Lend us your Bins" / "Got any Beanos?" / "Hosser!" / "Where's my bible?" / "It's Diagrammed" / "Oh, I bet it doesn't produce" / "Winner!" Signal box sounds (bells ringing plus levers clanking)? This could so bring the [Home] layout to life!
  16. Having had more of a look at this I am very impressed, a flexible system capable of creating bespoke announcements and sound combinations. Defo wanting a 1970's version for starters and steam era too. Ideally like to have the ability to play on a handful of small speakers across the layout with the ability to allocate particular sounds on chosen speakers Eg. Farmyard / Town / Station / Lineside / Railway Depot etc. Looking forward to developments as think this could be a real winner!
  17. Well I only said 'May be reaching' (elasticity of demand). Question is to those buying, what is you price elasticity (how much would you pay for one)? I have three but would not have paid much more for them. I didn't buy the Olivia's bogie tanks, until they fell in price through Hattons as they were past my pricing point I was willing to pay. Anyway - they are lovely wagons and I hope you enjoy them as do I.
  18. Excellent news, now I am very interested indeed! Sure this will be a winner with a huge number of modellers. Are we talking 12 months away or am I way out?
  19. It does make one wonder about the price elasticity of demand. £49.99 may be reaching the top end of what most folks are willing to pay for a flat wagon. There will be a hidden price curve of the market and if one applies logical obviously a price of £1000 per wagon would result in almost zero sales. It is generally speaking a seller's wish to maximise profit and sell the maximum number of units at the minimum cost. I do wonder if we are reaching a point at which any much further rises in model prices would see a drop off in demand thus affecting profitability. If costs (continue to) rise to the point where demand starts to fall, we start to head towards an unsustainable market which will inevitably contract and lead to less models being produced. Economics has harsh realities which affect our hobby and post lockdown with greater demands on our disposable income which could itself be diminished, it is not impossible to see a crash of the model market with resultant causalities. Fingers crossed the above proves wrong!
  20. Very interesting system and great for 21st Century though would be interested myself (if like many I anticipate) it could be backdated for BR (eg. 1970's) and Steam (eg. 1930s) eras with the associated differences including voices of the period, named trains, relief and additional extra, long closed stations, BR regret to announce........ (late running, cancellation), passengers (not customers), second or third class (not std), Inter-City, Sealink, etc etc Or maybe I missed those options?
  21. Also noted as showing similarly in latest edition of a magazine, (though taken with a pinch of salt as delays could have occurred between sending to print and reading). Still eagerly awaiting the 3 I've pre-paid for!
  22. Update on Hatton's website for anyone who might be interested!
  23. My 45040 arrived today and I am delighted. Will see about getting crests for the nameplate as I would like these though a minor point (and as mention possibly not prototypical for as modelled). Must give it a run soon and have a listen to the sounds. Last nose-end variant for me will be 46020 when it emerges then I think I will have the full compliment! Thank you kindly Bachmann
  24. Very much agree with the insight of those wise ones above!
