  1. sadly 436 has the wrong fuel tanks for most Large Logo 47s - so limited to a handful of numbers. 47444 has the correct fuel tanks so does open up a few more opportunities......... 47436 seems to be hanging around a while with most stockists still having plenty in stock - body shells are useful - chassis not so much so ......
  2. I tend to thing that manufacturers do this on purpose. Ive had this conversation a number of times with various people in the trade. Manufacturers always seem to do obscure locos thinking i guess of the collectability - for example the Bachmann Large Logo 47535 was flat ended at both nose ends - the only one of the class like this and thus stopped renumbering, but, it sold out. Similarly, most loco releases have names again due to the collectability - but, yes, always long names where you cant just put a nameplate over the top. Now is there a conspiracy against modellers here - probably not, but it does make you think. I've been saying till I'm blue in the face - release generic locos un-numbered ... that way the buyer has the choice and will probably buy more than one and then, when they've sold out the first release, its quick and easy to do another run of them ....... Leave obscure liveries and namers to exclusive / limited / collectors club editions. Simples ..... Ben
  3. Hi Mick - have you made sure the yellow cab ends are slightly higher than normal ?? I took a flyer on guessing the livery would be standard and hence mine are being touched up on the workbench too - Bloody COLAS lol. Looking good, i had the same ripple with mine on the black - not easy to do - maybe they should buy some more 47s - much easier to respray !! Ben
  4. Hi Jim - looking good - I'm doing a pair myself at the moment. I believe Steve at Railtec is sorting the transfers for me - guess its just gonna be the normal transfers with Oliver hats ?? Ben
  5. how do we order them ?? Went online and couldn't see how to ? Ben
  6. I'm sure if you contacted Steve at railtec transfers he could do one of his 3D style nameplate transfers for you - they are excellent Ben
  7. Count me in grimley - love rub on transfers
  8. Just ordered 47749 - just checking but i think its ok to renumber to 47739 which is what i intend to do - please feel free to advise if I'm wrong.. Ben
  9. Hi mark - it was met tongue in cheek but they do seem to be ignoring some of the models from an era and region that is quite popular with modellers - I'm sure you catch my drift. Ben
  10. But we've had a model of this already - if it was cut away buffer beam it opens up a lot of Scottish variants but it's becoming painfully obvious that Bachman don't like the Scots !!! Also it's bad practice to advertise a certain model, take preorders then change it the week before it's launched ! I'm not one that moans about much on here and am one of Bachmann's greatest supporters but this has left a bad taste in the mouth ....... Rant over Ben
  11. Please tell me you're joking ??? We've had so many of these already - why can't they do the cut away buffer beams that were originally announced - if this is true then that's 3 lost sales from me as I'll be cancelling my order !!
  12. Just ordered the ScotRail Abelio version - have i done this right .... I put the deposit in my basket - do i need to add the balance payments as well or will i be contacted when loco is ready for dispatch to pay the balance ?? Great job lads - looking forward to the Strathclyde one when its launched !!!! Ben
  13. Many thanks for that - guessed a few correct but the Falcon Grey was the final missing part - many thanks and hope to post my progress up here soon. Ben

Does anyone know if the ladders can be removed easily as i want to get one to respray but I need a version with full wasp stripes at the end which sadly limits it to the D3045 model which has ladders which I don't need on the model i want to do ......
  15. Hi All, Have been asked to respray a class 37 into Europhoenix / Rail Operations Group Livery. Has anyone done one or does anyone have an ideas as to what shades of paint are used on the real thing ??? I see Steve @ Railtec does the transfers, so just need a bit or help with the paint colours. Also been asked to do a Harry Needle Class 37 - again, anyone know what colours are available for this ?? I prefer if possible to use either Phoenix Precision Paints or Railmatch .... Cheers in advance Ben
  16. Why ????? Why not do something new and not duplicate existing models readily available - the people in their marketing and sales division really need a pat on the back for coming up with the idea of a new Mk1 coach - amazing !! No wonder the company is struggling this much if numpties like this are dictating what is released .......... There is plenty of stuff not available in RTR form - try some of that and not pandering to the kettle brigade as Hornby does - The railways continue to run after 1968 !!!!! Rant over - not really a rant as not bothered either way just disappointed i guess at the lack of vision from companies - Bachmann Mk1s are very good and i doubt Hornby will come up to that standard so why waste their time .........
  17. Well I was going to give this one a miss but now that you've announced unnumbered triple grey versions - I'm in ! Glad to see you've listened to your potential market and gone ahead with unnumbered versions - they really would be more popular if manufacturers and sales teams didn't release one off versions of a class of loco then these would sell like hot cakes i.e. Basic blue 47 or 37 so many different numbers and they'd sell out very quickly but the good thing is - another run can be done quickly .......
  18. Ok then as an addition to the above - id like a rake of Blue/grey ones to go with the early ScotRail push pull models and the hopefully incoming DBSO - does anyone know what formation these ran in - i think it was usually 5 / 6 coaches and a DBSO - can anyone confirm this and what types of coaches were involved ? Ben
  19. You can pre-order at Hattons (other model shops may do similar) for £29 each - that really is giving them away at that price - sell all your Hornby Mk3s cos they are gonna become worthless over the next few years if Oxford do this right .............
  20. Do a Bachmann in numbered large logo 37 or one in BR blue and see how many of them are left after release - I'd wager not many !! Sometimes it's down to choice of livery or class that has un numbered versions available ......
  21. Here's a suggestion - why not just lock the thread until theres something to announce ?? It is getting very tiresome and repetitive ....... Charlie and the Team will update us when there is something to update us on.
  22. Looks good can I ask where you got the plates from for 56302?
  23. Looks good but did you know the railfreight 26 is missing a lamp bracket ??
  24. Damn you Kernow and you're lovely 438s !!! Just ordered 3 sets - NSE, blue Grey with NSE branding and the RTC liveried one - was in the middle of doing 83301 from a Heljan 33 so that's a bit of luck - can anyone tell me what type of coach the two NSE liveried ones in the test train were .,....... Should be a lovely model, prices yes but if you want it, you have to pay for it... Ben
