  1. Back to back adjusted and checked on all units but still the power car is binding on the curves so replacement being organised with Bachmann, very annoying on such an expensive item!
  2. Has anybody else had problems with running these units round curves. I am trying to run in my brand new unit and am getting a whine and slowing down on my Peco 3rd radius curves. The unit is designed to run round 2nd radius curves! I have messaged Bachmann and am waiting for a reply but just thought I would see if anyone else has had a similar problem. Great shame as this is stunning piece of kit!

Tinkers Park is staging its annual Model Railways plus event on Saturday August 1st and Sunday August 2nd. This will be one of the first exhibitions to take place in East Sussex since the Government eased lockdown restrictions. The event this year will be fully compliant with the Government guidelines on Social Distancing etc and as a result the model railway exhibition will be smaller than usual. It is being staged in one of the large engineering workshops which will give plenty of space for people to circulate and view the exhibits in an airy, well-ventilated environment. There will still be eight model railway layouts and four traders in the main hall. Outside in the extensive grounds visitors will find trade and preservation society stalls, displays of steam traction engines and vintage vehicles. On-site catering facilities will also be available in the grounds. In addition Tinkers Park are planning to operate The Great Bush narrow gauge railway and Traction Engine Trailer with reduced seating capacity and regular cleaning, but this will be subject to volunteer availability. On Sunday only there will be a bus rally organised by Southdownnational.com Opening times are 10am to 5pm on both days There is free parking on site. As usual a free connecting bus service will be available on both days and for details of the services please visit tinkerspark.com/bus_service Tinkers Park is situated on the A272 to the east of Hadlow Down village in East Sussex. For more information about Model Railways Plus including admission prices please visit https://www.tinkerspark.com/home/model-railways-plus/
  4. Hendricksville is a tribute to my very good friend Trevor Hendrick, aka Sunshine Coast, who sadly died in August 2013. Following his death I took over managing his shop until it closed in March 2014. It was while I was working there that I got the inspiration for this layout. Trev was a brilliant modeller across a wide spectrum of railways, aircraft and war-gaming. One of the railway gauges that he modelled in was On30 so this layout is dedicated to his memory, hence the name Hendricksville. In fact Trev has quite a presence on this layout. Amongst the rolling stock is a 0-4-2 Porter "Pocahontas Lumber Company", which was super-detailed by him, and there is also a Model T Railvan, which is a classic example of his scratch-building skills, both of these are DCC fitted with sound. (photos to follow) The Colorado & Southern Coaches were part of his On30 collection, the tunnel portals were all made from stripwood, which was left in his modelling kit, as was the ballast mix of Buff and Brown. Plus the road vehicles and figures were also part of his On30 collection. The layout is a "work in progress" but it has just just been exhibited at the Pevensey Bay MRC show where it received many favourable comments. I hope to have it completed by its next appearance at the Newhaven MRC exhibition at the end of October. P.S.Trev's shop, Train Times, is about to re-open as a model shop under new ownership in early August 2014.
