    Heljan Class 16

Have a look at this thread: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/39920-diesel-classes-that-didnt-transition/ Post 16 by baby deltic picture 5.
  2. Thanks Grahame. I've just pre-ordered 3 of the original condition Baby Deltics (2320-2322) from Hattons for £104 each not bad considering the above prices at Kernow. Still can't find the class 16's to pre-order, Kernow seem to be the only shop selling them at the moment, must be patient. Paul
  3. Grahame, Has the annual Heljan catalogue for 2012 with all the new releases such as the unrefurbed 23 and class 16 been or being published for purchase anytime soon? No one seems to be taking pre-orders for them or the models yet. Regards
  4. The new chassis will have working lights not before seen on the previous Class 40, so a new body will be produced as Ed Farms said, don't think theres any need to worry about that. Who knows in the up coming catalogue we will more than likely see a couple of extra livery options as well as an upgraded Class 20 (whoops that one slipped out).
  5. I sent my D5512 to Hornby earlier this month with a small crack in the left hand corner of the body, the chassis looked ok but the plates that were secured onto the chassis just above the bogies had crumbled. By what you all are saying it looks like I'm in for a bit of a wait, I need to contact them and tell them of a recent change of address so will see what answers I get.
  6. Can't believe this, an original condition baby deltic and class 16 from Heljan along with Dapols 21 due for 2012 i'm going to be poor, best railway news I've heard for months, thank you Heljan.

    Heljan Class 16

Any news from Heljan on this or any other releases from their catalogue for 2012?

    Heljan Class 16

Wow, I hope this is true what with Dapols 21's my Eastern region layout will have a complete range of stock, hopefully Heljan will also announce an original Baby Deltic tomorrow making my 2012 expensive but satisfying.
  9. After seeing but not purchasing (as they are post 1963), their latest effort is excellent and I too hope they expand on the range with both of these models especially the original baby deltic. Only a week to go and we might find out, its usually at Warley when Heljan announce their next catalogue.
  10. According to Hornby Magazine both batches are now due in December
  11. Heres my plain green one with headcodes fitted hopefully the pics are of adequate quality even if the aren't on my layout. PS where do the horns go can't find the locating holes anywhere? Cheers Paul
  12. Kernow have the Baby Deltic listed as a late September early October release date, probably to be released with the Hattons 28. On a more positive note Heljan are releasing a further 4 livery and number variations to be released in December 2304-2307, 2307 being a br blue weathered variant. Hopefully a good sign the original version will be announced at Warley for next year, fingers crossed PS.Looks like you'll be spending another £400 Baby Deltic. Cheers Paul
  13. A few of my mineral wagons, I apologise that there are some intruders in these pics but they show the same end result. The 16 and 21 tonners have had scenic rust applied left to dry then a wash of a more realistic colour brush on, using thinners the rust was then removed as required. Two of the hoppers have had carrs weathering poweders (a pre mixed dusting of rust and coal colouring) applied to wet matt varnish, you need to be quick at dusting the powder, then with a cotton bud the almost paste is brushed downwardswhich gives the texture, more colours are then added until desired effect is acheived. Cheers Paul
  14. Full programme of class 28 pictures on hattons now, liking the plain green one's Paul
  15. Cheers I will have a look but I've never built a kit before so will probably be a bit beyond my skill level, wouldn't want to make a pigs ear out of it. Will have to wait maybe a RTR company will make one.
  16. Love this layout definately what I will be aiming for. Is that an A5 class 4-6-2T sat in the shed area, if so where'd do get it from? Been looking for one of those rare beasts. Cheers Paul
  17. Hattons have some new pictures of the class 28 on the website they are the weathered models Green with SYP and BR Blue. Looks like they are close to arrival.
  18. I was thinking the exact same thing, Hattons have recently changed the release date for the Class 28 to July , it looks like the Baby Deltics will be delivered at the same time as the release dates seemed to follow each other, its probably to avoid two seperate shipping charges for Heljan. Dapol Class 21/29

Anyone heard any news about these? I thought we might of had some CAD images by now due to them having a release date of this year according to Dapols press release.
  20. Don't know if anyone else has but I just noticed on Hattons that there are another 5 or 6 variants being produced by Heljan, model numbers now from 2807 to 2812. Paul

    Dapol Class 21/29

£110 on Kernow, thats better than I thought, considering the class 22 is £125.
  22. Awesome if I can get a fraction of that atmosphere and detail on my layout I'd be happy, where'd you get those 56t iron ore hoppers from are they scratch or kit built? They are amazing, I've been looking for prototype images of them everywhere without success and would love a rake for my layout. Cheers Paul.
  23. That looks very good, i've just brought the Hornby coaling tower with a view to detail it, sorry to bring up this thread again but does any one know where in respect to the coaling tower would the ash plant be. Would the ash plant be situated over the same line as which the wagons were loaded onto the coaling tower? ie basically using the same line to unload coal but to load the ash. Cheers
  24. Where'd you get that info from, 2 years is a long wait might just go for the up coming Dapol 21's, Baccy 40 to go with my 24's, 31's, 15's and 37 for my Stratford layout, however no doubt that will change once I see one
  25. Awesome looking layout so far my preferred era, what manufacturer did you use for the cobbled stone paving around the shed it gives a good effect? Regards Paul
