    Dapol Class 21/29

Guys, Obviously no EP samples at Ally Pally, but did anyone get an answer on where these are in the production line. They don't seem to have moved from final cad cam for at least a year. Theres been alot of queue jumping from other projects. Cheers
  2. Seriously though BobM, I would glue some brick sheets inside, and repaint as you said. Off white looks good with some heavy weathering.
  3. Posted Today, 07:08 BobM, on 22 Mar 2016 - 23:33, said: ... it'll require painting and some tweaking interanally ... Blimey. Is this a new technique? Paul Haha, I think thats band in Europe - to hardcore. ;-)
  4. As the old saying goes: a picture paints a thousand words. If DCC Concepts produce a few good wiring diagrams , from the simplest system to a complicated system and how each interacts with the other manufacturers equipment, including part numbers etc it would clear everything up. Having diagrams on how the Alpha system is set up with DC equipment would also be a good idea
  5. Thanks Ron, I will look into a full NCE system as well, the Alpha system just looks and reads as though there will be less wiring and will look tidy and uniform as a control panel. Rand, Is the power supply for the alpha actually released yet? I cant find it anywhere or on your website.
  6. Good Evening, Im thinking, with a bit more research in getting an NCE Powercab and pairing it with this alpha equipment. The advert in Hornby Magazine shows a power supply I cannot find it on Dcc Concepts or any other website, just wondering on price and where to buy really. Thanks for any replies.

    Dapol Class 21/29

Cheers for the info Meld, Just a shame we have to do all the digging and enquiring to get those answers, i'd rather be told if there was a delay than being kept in the dark all the time.
  8. Ben A Will you try again with this project if the OO gauge version is successful? Do you think the N gauge project would have been more successful if Dapol had something to show for all these years development apart from one front end CAD shot? Im pretty sure if buyers could see EP Samples/CADs for both the 21/29 OO versions they would be more confident with the N gauge model. I take it your not in a position to "have a word" with Dapol to release the CADs for you to use as a poster for your N gauge project.
  9. Could it be the distinct lack of information and updates from the OO version over the past 6 years that may have put people off. We seem to get updates regarding most of Dapols other projects, the Class 21/29 is politely lacking any decent information, people have probably lost confidence. Which is a shame for you N gauge modellers.
  10. Agreed, let's have a break from the GWR and SR for a year, something NER,GNR please. PSB from MREMAG. Well, what a year it has been for new announcements! Just from The Top 50 of the 2014 Poll (00), we will be getting (or have received): SR Air-smoothed Merchant Navy GWR Steam Railmotor LSWR/SR S15 LSWR 0415 Adams Radial GWR Churchward 47xx Industrial 0-4-0ST Class 117 GWR Collett 14xx/58xx SR Breakdown Crane GWR Collett Gangwayed Coaches BR Salmon Rail Wagon And that’s not to forget the GWR 94xx (which was just three votes outside). Plus the 71 and Night Owl, including duplication of two of these. I think these regions are well served.

    Dapol Class 21/29

Cheers David, Seems to tie in with Dapols own prediction, but the release is still very confused. The Dapol website states that the Class 29 and Class 21 will be released together suggests that we still have at least another 4 product codes to be announced for the Class 21, where are these? Only one CAD has been shown that of the Class 21 but nothing involving a Class 29, no update was given at the open day or the review. The only hint we have of the project still being in progress is from a 3rd party manufacturer (Revolution) due to their n gauge announcement. In regards to this project we are definately the mushrooms.
  12. They look like they're going to be lovely models but not my area. I dont suppose any of these made it onto Eastern rails, if so where and how regular would they have been seen?

    Dapol Class 21/29

http://Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=179_298_301_597 Thats at least a 6 year development cycle now, takes the piss. Not surprised though seems to be aligned with the Revolution N gauge prediction.
  14. Ben/Red Death, You say you plan on having the OO and N gauge versions at the same time and the N gauge appearing in the Dapol range in 2 years. Does this mean that this project will speed up the OO project or could it delay it while they wait for N gauge expression of interest results. Are you looking at the being release within 2 years and if so is that how far Dapol are still away from finishing the OO gauge version? Many thanks.

    Dapol Class 21/29

Its funny this has been brought up again as on Tuesday evening I decided to E-mail them yet again asking for an update, this time direct to the person who replied last time. I have yet to receive a reply, maybe if we all send an E-mail asking the same question they will finally cave in and give us some information.

    Dapol Class 21/29

Well its been nearly 6 months since i enquired, the release date is 4th quarter 2015. Still no tooling samples to be seen has anyone been updated on the progress of these? They've been described as being in final cad for 18months now.
  17. Certainly looking good, does anyone know when the other batch are due, specifically the plain green one?

    Dapol Class 21/29

http://Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=179_298_301 Dapol have updated their OO lauch page. Class 21 and 29 are being produce simultaeneously, Class 21 details still TBC, this at least clears up the disconnect between the Cad and product descriptions.
  19. http://www.howesmodels.co.uk/category/OO%20Locomotives%20and%20Units?start=11&order=NULL Pre production samples of all the class 05s, park royals and Met bo bo, are now on HowesModels.
  20. Cost of £25 has already been stated above so not as bad as you think. I have just ordered 8 for just under £200.

    Dapol Class 21/29

Had a response from Dapol today, the class 21/29 is still in development, they are still saying 3rd Quarter 2015, so must have toolong samples somewhere. However we all know there will be delays. I also got an answer regarding the variant to be released first, be it a bit cryptic, it looks likely it will be the Class 21 variant first and the catalogue numbers will have to be changed.

    Dapol Class 21/29

I emailed Dapol in October to enquire about these and received no reply, the date of 3rd quarter 2015 was displayed back then as well, there hasnt been a good update in months. I have emailed them again yesterday as the info on the class 68 as been updated but none given to any of the other projects. Nearly 5 years waiting fo these.

    Hornby D16/3

I have the e/e one on order from Hattons, but have received no such message. Looks like they have now received the quantity Hornby are now willing to supply to them meaning some orders cant be honored. They seem to be last in the queue to receive items from Hornby at the moment, I ordered my J15 from someone else due to this.
  24. Received an Email from Hattons stating they now expect these Sept to Dec 15. Anyone heard why there is a delay of 8 -10 months? Considering they had full decorated samples at Warley, I was expecting them around 6 months from that date not a full year. Obviously not life changing but all these delays are becoming a bit of a joke.
