Hello all,
I am looking at the Great Northern Railway line between Bradford and Keighley and have 2 questions about the operation of goods facilities on the route, specifically about how the loco would shunt the stock. The map at the following link shows the two stations in question: https://maps.nls.uk/view/125639998
1) At the terminating Keighley GNR goods station, there is no run-round loop in the sidings. In this instance, would the loco run into a siding and a separate shunter distribute the wagons, or would the loco perform a run round further up the main line?
2) At 'through' stations such as Ingrow East (and Cullingworth, Great Horton etc), how would goods trains access the yard? If the sidings were facing the 'wrong' way, would the loco have to run round before shunting the yard, or would they only access the sidings when facing the right direction?
Thanks very much for your time and any insight you can provide.
