Announcing major system malfunction. I am currently away from home and admitted to hospital with major heart failure involving mitral valve and atrial fibrillation.  The consequences of this mean that I am not feeling my scintillating best and appear to be set for a long stay in an attempt to provide a fix for feeling the less than special way I feel now. I am receiving excellent treatment from my local NHS once I gained admission by kicking in the front door ( A&E) .  I am keeping in touch and will continue to do so as long as I possibly can.  Best regards to ANTB friends

  4. Morning All from sunny Canvey Island

I decided to throw the PC into a bag and cart it down to Essex Having yet another holiday away from Sh!ty Farnborough happy with the way thing are going with the flat

just some tiles to go on the wall in the kitchen 275 of then I felt they could wait the Arthurritearse has calmed down in the thumbs since being here for 5 days I'm going

back home in a weeks time, the new motor is a bit more comfortable getting in and out I didn't realize how small the Fiesta was till getting something with more room,

I've been planning my new 009 layout it was a bit to fragile to transport when I moved so that will be my main project through the winter it depends on the amount of

time I spend here I had to get permission to have Elaine's dogs stay at my flat so I can spend more time there getting the layout and other things sorted out.

Stay safe and mind the gap the knuckle draggers in the part of the world

seem to have forgotten social distancing few words have said to some of them.

  5. Morning All

Been busy all week finally finished tiling the bathroom it's complete apart from the flooring, a small amount of paint required in the kitchen before I embark on the 300 tiles to go on the walls

the fitter had not used any soft close hinges so spent yesterday swopping them over and a soft close draw to be messed with as well, the flat is looking close to being a home at last after living in a

mess for 6 months just the carpet to be replaced throughout my new Shark vac keeps removing the pile off the old carpet.

Wednesday the Electrician is here to replace the antique fuse board and check out all the new additions to the kitchen.

Back to Essex Thursday, will be meeting some of Elaine's family at last.

I've been out and about buying things for the home we were both wearing good quality masks and all the idiots gave us a wide berth it is a clear sign to stay away Elaine was allowed to stay here

overnight now and use the car park I told the estate manager we were trying the dogs next visit he said dogs are not allowed I said what about that one in the garden he went red then turned to

scarlet when I told him I have permission from his Head Office for Elaine mutts to stay it rendered him speechless

Enjoy your weekend say safe and mind the gap.  :superman: I.M. Inagoodmood :biggrin_mini2:

Oh don't get me started about them.

    Oh, ok if you insist....

So when I lived up that way I owned a Ford Escort with about 15k on the clock. Took it in there for a service and it got as far as the nearest roundabout before conking out. Never worked properly again after they touched it.

Like many garages they relied totally on a computer to say if a car was working. No matter the car wouldn't get above 5mph after they'd worked on it; their computer knew better.

Never bought another Ford and never will again. I'm guessing from your post that 25 years on they haven't improved a lot!

    Afternoon All

    Wet and yuck here

HI Andy nothing wrong with Ford Cars its the badly run dealership we have in this area, the one I used in Essex this week to say excellent is an understatement.:declare:

Think  Wancur Ford @ Guildford don't know how to return a call same for Bracknell and Farnborough, Wokingham are better but want to rip you off on the trade-ins my car was

100% showroom condition and the still only offered 1K under the Glasses guide, Basingstoke are a gem they leave you in the carpark waiting for a salesman to come free

after 15 minutes I went in to the showroom and asked what is going on to be told the man I needed to see had just driven out of the carpark I said couldn't any of you t0ssers

have told me he was on his way home !!!! red faces all round and the other customers were all embarrassed so yes that company are a JOKE.:banghead:

Tiling proceeded at a good pace today nearly finished so a much needed break to give my hands a chance to recover has been taken I need to go to Argos later for some

more accessories for the home and car.:senile:

I bought a smart watch last month it finally turned up and I started to set the thing up as usual electrickery and me are not compatible so I will have to ask a daughter to

intervene maybe one day things will work without the intervention of others.:banghead:

Spose I better get on stay safe and mind that gap. :superman:Bob The Builder. :biggrin_mini2:

  7. Afternoon All

Forgive me I'm not up to speed haven't read back at all.

29c lunchtime driving back from Farnham.

Been AWOL for a couple of weeks for a total rest and to shut everything out I spent my time being spoilt by my Partner Elaine at her home on Canvey Island.

Wandering around the Essex landscape last week I came across a Ford dealership who wanted to sell me a car :swoon:, Essex Ford gave me top dollar on my Fiesta

on a trade in for a Eco-Sport Titanium X basically a Fiesta on steroids' the local rabble Think Ford  didn't even bother after requesting someone contact me      :banghead:

about 18K car until they put a posting on Facebook and they got a dressing down in public from me the faceless wonders who work for them in all 5 garages are

the same, USELESS still they done me a favor I picked up the car I wanted for 4K less than anything Think Ford had.

Had a problem with signing in the new car to Dart Crossing the pre-paid system which automatically tops its self up the previous lady owner had not cancelled the car off

(dare I say more) from the system, I went on line and left a complaint with them as the dork I spoke to wanted a copy V5 mailed over having first explained I'd just bought it

so the V5 would be in the system for a couple of weeks the nob didn't wear that probably the Mr. No-brain was being a jobs-worth, I complained on-line and received a mail

saying it had been dealt with sorry and for your trouble by some nice lady.

Tomorrow I start the tiling again having had to stop through arthuritearse in the hands 2 weeks ago, I bought all new bits and pieces for the bathroom the man is here Monday

to finish off the Kitchen and the bathroom Tuesday, the electrician is here Wednesday week to fit a new consumer unit and sign off the safety check for all the other work.

Stay safe and mind the gap .  :superman: R.E.Laxed  :biggrin_mini2:

    Evening.

Sunny in places on Fraggle Rock, down north here is fine, out west at work was foggy.

Finally got things under control at work, with no backlog of orders - this has taken some doing and has taken its toll on this Fraggle, wot is frazzled.  Taking a week off after tomorrow.

Ah, graduation ceremonies.....or not in my case, as a company cadet (about to be a junior officer of course by then) I was on a ship earning them a crust about five minutes after sitting my finals!  A good result was  declared and delivered by post, eventually.  Further education later in life didn't have the same feel, and was very low key.

This ship, as it happens - LPG tanker.

  9. Greetings All

Had a busy day flat looks like a bomb has gone off still the new bathroom suit has arrived and the old bath has been ripped out the new bath will go in tomorrow

once the walls have been fixed the tiles have been purchased so I will be playing Tiler tomorrow I can get all the tilling done behind the "throne" before the cistern goes in

it won't take long as the tiles are 60 cm x 30 cm  its only 105 tiles in total on quick drying cement should have it tiled by Wednesday afternoon if my hands don't give out.

Kitchen arrives Wednesday the fitter will crack on with that while tile, once I tile around the sink that can be fitted in place and sealed along with the bath with silicone.

At the weekend I will be back in Essex with my partner:wub:.

I don’t know about you, but from those photographs that you have posted, Oscar comes across as a nice little dog, but Alfie’s expression marks him out as the “hard man“ of the duo. Probably, and I’m purely speculating here, he is a wonderful little dog whilst the treats are coming, but cross him and you’re looking at chewed up hamstrings at the very least! :jester:

But it’s good they’re much loved. All dogs deserve that.

On a more serious note, and something I think is starting to get to the point where it’s more than just annoying, is this stupid censoring software put in place on RMWeb which censors totally innocent terminology and words – such as the name of Oscar’s breed. Having met AndyY on a number of occasions, I found him to have a very robust approach to language, so this “uptight schoolteacher“ censoring of terminology seems somewhat out of place. Could it be that sponsors and advertisers can’t deal with/don’t want to be associated with any sort of wordage that could, potentially, cause offence to someone, somewhere at some future, unforeseeable, time? Or am I being Captain Cynical again???

IL I typed it in like that as not sure of the spelling of that breed, one eyed Alfie is the bully but Oscar gives as good as he gets its funny to watch them play tug of war

with their toys Oscar drops down and is immoverble.

    Morning All

I managed to remove all the required tiles from the walls in the bathroom I was going out to Topps tiles But can't get them on the phone so I will leave it till next week it

seems all the DIY stores have sh!te websites they are an utter joke, Dunelm is p!ss poor too you would have thought an upgrade in the lockdown would have increased their

business 5 fold, B and Q lost a 2K order from me as I could not get through to arrange delivery of one placed on order so bought from a discount trade centre for £100 less and free delivery.

You can pay in advance or within I think 24 hours. (EDIT  By midnight the day after you cross). I set up an account that automatically tops up by £10 if it drops below £10. Avoids having to think about tolls if we go shopping in Kent (shopping in Kent, those were the days...)

    Tony

    Hi Tony

Thanks for the info I've set up the £10 top up scheme as my memory is like a sieve I'm not sure how many times I will be travelling through and I don't get coped for a fine.

  16. Afternoon All

    Sunny at the moment

Sat last night looking at the mess around me in the flat I decided the get someone to come in and paint right through for me otherwise it will never get done

An ex neighbour pitched up this morning and was happy to do the job, if I can get the rest of the flat done in 4 weeks I'd be a happy bunny I can spend more time

with my new Babe doing new things and I can transport myself to the other side of London to stay with her to have a break from this place.

I'm on a mission to empty the last of the removal boxes into spare space in draws and cupboards making good progress today I can stop tripping over the clutter.

Must get on Stay Safe & be alert as the country needs Lerts.:superman: Mr. Happy :biggrin_mini2:
