  1. I can only echo the sentiment of the previous posts and how sorry I am to hear of EE's closure. I have run my own business for 25 years (not model railway related) and can attest to the incredible amount of hard work and heartache that goes into such endeavours, none of which shows up directly on the balance sheet. It can't have been an easy decision by any means but full credit for not "burying your head in the sand" and letting things get worse, alot do. These are unprecedented times for traders with who knows what to come. Good luck and good health in all you do.
  2. Naval and military press are having a spring sale with 70-80% off a small number of railway book titles https://www.naval-military-press.com/product-category/other-categories/non-military-titles/ I've ordered the following Pen & Sword publishing titles: BR DIESEL LOCOMOTIVES IN PRESERVATION £25 down to £5.59 BRITISH RAILWAYS IN TRANSITION £25 down to £5.59 STANIER: BLACK FIVE LOCOMOTIVES £40 down to £7.99 STEAM IN SCOTLAND £25 down to £6.39 Hardback books at magazine prices, that'll do! Usual caveat, just a happy customer.
  3. I'm not sure of the exact details but I seem to recall something along the lines of Brush builds originally having a single overhead live wire sign below the headcode panel with Crewe builds having one either side. Also the Brush locos having 2 small reinforcement plates above the draw book, Crewe locos a single long one.
  4. Pretty sure it's Sherwood Green as used on green class 47's centre banding. In which case Railmatch 301 is the required paint although personally I have always used Phoenix -Precision P136 as it appears nearer to the prototype to me.
  5. The next 4 diesel related bookazines by Irwell Press are available for a bundle price of £35 with free delivery as and when they are published from classicmagazines. Priced at £12.99 each seems a reasonable offer to me. details can be found here: https://classicmagazines.co.uk/bundleOffer/BUND9 Usual caveat, just a happy customer.
  6. According to the TMC ad in this month's BRM you can have an additional 5% discount off the already discounted price using the code"MORE" at the checkout, plus orders over £60.00 appear to be post free if ordered online.
  7. Amazon have "Railways & Recollections The Somerset and Dorset Railway 1961-66" by Gavin Morrison for all of £2.39 with free shipping for Amazon Prime members.
  8. Martin Loader is selling a few if his titles from the late 90's/early 2000's at an absolute bargain price of 99p each plus £1.75 postage on Ebay. All brand new, the photo file books feature on picture of every member of the relevant class. Excellent quality publications IMHO, usual caveat, no connection, just a happy customer. 9. Words fail me, I am so sorry for all those affected by this, please don't let the b*****ds responsible beat you. This is such a harmless hobby involving kind and generous people, the polar opposite of the morons that have perpetrated this. Ken
  10. Great stuff David. You are couple of miles out with the location of J7177 & J7178, which were taken where Hambridge Road, just outside the Warwickshire village of Bishops Itchington, crosses over the GWR line between Leamington Spa and Banbury. J7176 will I am sure be taken at Greaves Siding which served Blue Circle's Harbury cement works, the silo's of which can just be seen in the top left of J7178. Southam Road and Harbury station was located another mile or so beyond the cement works near the hamlet of Deppers Bridge. As a lad I spent many happy an hour with my Dad at these places taking photos not dissimilar to yours. Thanks for sharing all these images and keep up the good work, Ken
  11. Got a disproportionate number of buffet cars, no problem:
  12. At least one more, 08841 showing the results of too many trips through the washer.
  13. One of Bescot's skirt fitted 08's. The skirting was added to keep water out of the running gear when on carriage washing duties.
  14. Ideal for compact layouts: https://www.flickr.com/photos/eetype5/31937823713/in/dateposted-public/
  15. Phoenix Precision Paints reference P111 http://www.phoenix-paints.co.uk/p102-b-r-steam-locomotive-light-blue-1949-2005.html or Railmatch 318 if you can still find it.
